  Ponyboys POV

I heard foot steps and instantly knew this wasn't going to end well. I looked at Derek and he looked at me as if saying good luck and be careful. When the person came into view I saw that it was a man. A broad man. Maybe even more than Darry. Oh god I miss them right now. "So Derek are you happy with you're new cell mate?" "He's on the scrawny side but hey he'll do" this didn't offend me because I knew that he was just kidding. "Well what's your name boy?" He asked and I didn't respond. "Ahh not a talker?" I kept my mouth shut. Derek looked at me with pleading eyes saying to answer but I couldn't. "I'll make you talk." He pulled out a knife and I didn't even flinch. "What is your name?" He asked again tracing the knife up and down my arm. "Derek you must know what his name is." He walked over to Derek and plunged the knife into his thigh.

  Derek cried out in pain. If there was anyway to get me to talk it was hurting other people. He plunged the knife into Derek's thigh again. "Ponyboy!" I cried out "my name is Ponyboy Curtis" "well Ponyboy you should get used to the screams and cries." He stopped. "Cuz sooner or later you're gonna be the one begging." He walked out of the room.

  "Derek? Derek are you okay?" I asked worriedly. "Nothing different from the usual treatment" he gasped out. "How long have you been here?" I asked curiously. "Too long" he muttered. "Do you have any family?" "I have an uncle and sister. The rest of my family burned in a fire. I have a pa- some friends." Odd. "How about you?" "I have two older brothers and some friends."
