I walked farther than expected, back to the lot actually. I don't really know why but I started to sing

"It's time you learned a lesson
It's time you learned a lesson
It's time that you understand
Don't ever count on anybody else
In this or any other land

I once hoped for friendship
To find a place among my kind
But those were the childish wishes
Of someone who was blind

Open up your eyes
See the world from where I stand
Me among the mighty
You caged at my command

Open up your eyes
Give up your sweet fantasy land
It's time to grow up and get wise
Come now little one open up your eyes

We all start out the same
With simple naive trust
Sheilded from the many ways
Life's not fair or just

But then there comes a moment
A simple truth that you must face
If you depend on others
You'll never find your place

And as you take that first step
Upon a path that's soiled
You see it all so clearly
The best way to survive is all alone

Open up your eyes
See the world from where I stand
Me among the mighty
You caged at my command

Open up your eyes
And behold the fading light
It's time to grow up and get wise
Come now little one
Open up your eyes

Open up your eyes"

"Dry lightning cracks across the skies
Those storm clouds gather in her eyes
Her daddy was a mean old mister
Mama was an angel in the ground

The weather man called for a twister
She prayed blow it down
There's not enough rain in Oklahoma
To wash the sins out of that house
There's not enough wind in Oklahoma
To rip the nails out of the past

Shatter every window till it's all blown away
Every brick every board every slamming door blown away
Til there's nothing left standing nothing left of yesterday
Every tear soaked whiskey memory blown away

Blown away

Blown away

She heard those sirens screaming out
Her daddy laid there passed out on the couch
She locked herself in the cellar listening to the screaming of the wind

Some people call it taking shelter
She called it sweet revenge

Shatter every window till it's all blown away
Every brick every board every slamming door blown away
Til there's nothing left standing nothing left of yesterday
Every tear soaked whiskey memory blown away

Blown away

There's not enough rain in Oklahoma
To wash the sins out of the past
There's not enough wind in Oklahoma
To rip the nails out of the past

Shatter every window till it's all blown away
Every brick every board every slamming door blown away
Til there's nothing left standing nothing left of yesterday
Every tear soaked whiskey memory blown away

Blown away

Blown away

Blown away

Blown away

Blown away"

"The moment you arrived
They built you up
The sun was in your eyes
You couldn't believe it

Riches all around
You're walking
Stars are on the ground
You start to believe it

Every face along the boulevard
Is a dreamer just like you
You looked at death in a tarot card
And you saw what you had to do

But nobody knows you now
When you're dying in L.A
And nobody owes you now
When you're dying in L.A

When you're dying in L.A

When you're dying in L.A
The power the power the power
Oh the power the power the power
Of L.A

Nights at the chateau
Trapped in your sunset bungalow
You couldn't escape it, yeah
Drink of paradise
They told you to put your blood on ice
You're not gonna make it

Every face along the boulevard is a dreamer just like you
You looked at death in a tarot card and you saw what you had to do

But nobody knows you now
When you're dying in L.A
And nobody owes you now
When you're dying in L.A
When you're dying in L.A
When you're dying in L.A
The power, the power, the power
Oh the power, the power, the power
Of L.A"

"Wow, you're really good." I turn around to see Ponyboy looking at me and smiling. "Pony! H-how long have you been there? Did you follow me!?" I say glaring at him. "Yes I did but before you get mad let me explain. I saw you leave and I was worried about the Socs, you saw what happened to Johnny! I was gonna call out to you but you uh seemed like you wanted to be alone so I followed you just in case you needed help." He said smiling nervously. "Well when you're following me I'm not really alone now am I?" I say cocking and eyebrow. "But I appreciate your concern." I finish. "Well that's good to know that my new friend isn't gonna hate me forever!" He says laughing. "How could I hate you?" I say smirking. "You might hate me when I do this..." He says smirking. "Do what?" I ask. "This!" He screams messing up my hair and running. "Ponyboy Curtis! Get back here right now!" I scream running after him.
