Diana's P.O.V

"Were going on a trip my dear friend. " Claire said with a glint of relief and happiness in her eyes.  She interupted my breakfast..... Busting into the room catching me chewing on bread. Surprised by her sudden presents I stopped chewing but didn't even swallow yet looking like a squirrel.

"Well hello to you too." I remarked sarcastically after swallowing my lovely food and then washing it down with whiskey.

"The men are going around Mackenzie land collecting rent.  They want to bring a healer along. " I smiled and leaned back  knowing where she was taking it.

"I said I needed an assistant. You are the assistant. That's our chance to get back home. " She said continued looking outside the window probably daydreaming of her return to Frank.

"When are we leaving?" I asked looking at my sister.

"Tomorrow at first light. " She answered giving me one last glance before walking out of the room. Suddenly it hit me like a ton of bricks since me and Claire met the longest conversation we ever had was now.  It was a few sentences long.  How sad....

Instead of sulking around I took another swig of whiskey. The day was warm enough and a small walk around the area wouldn't do me any harm. Propping myself up I looked at the door.  My lazy side took over and I slumped back down onto the comfy bed.

"Should I walk or not this is the question. " I mumbled.  I'm really a coach potatoe I guess.

I really need to find Connor at tell him about that I thought to myself jumping off the bed and walking out of our warm bedroom to the chilly corridors of castle Leoch. Connor told me he  was out training.  I wanted to go but felt like being lazy so I dropped the subject and kicked him out of the bedroom taking the big bed all for myself.

"Connor!" I shouted approaching the sweaty mongrel.

"What is it? " He asked departing from the duel.

"I'm going away tomorrow. " I said like it was nothing even tho his facial expression pained me.

"What! Why!"He asked looking sad and mad.

"To collect the rent the healer is taking me with her for extra help. " I explained misleading him by not mentioning that we will try to escape this century and will probably get killed in progress..... Fun days woohoo.

"Alright I'll come along." He stated making his way to Castle Leoch.  His long strides and posture showed determination... Oh no he can't come along.

"What exactly are you doing?!! " I shouted frantically.

"Asking the laird to give permission to come along. " He shouted back not looking back.  All I could do know is wait and hope the laird said no.  The odds have always been against me so my prayers mean nothing.

"Damn it." I muttered walking away from the castle towards a path leading into the woods.

I stomped my way through over rocks and twigs and enjoyed the lovely clean air. I think it's been a few hours since I went on a journey through the dense forest.

"What's on your mind. " a female voice asked from behind me. I turned around wondering who it was. There stood a woman with long ginger hair.  She was beautiful to be honest.  The shape of her eyes and the glint in them probably lured in many guys.

"Do I know you? " I asked and she tilted her head sending me a smile.

"I'm known as a witch among all  the woman here . " She giggled taking my arm into hers.  We continued walking and I was stunned  by her weirdness..... Yet there was a good vibe about her.

"You probably heard of me. " She carried on.

"Well I know you more of being Claire's friend than a witch. " I stated enjoying her playful presence.

"Do you believe in the unthinkable unexplainable . Do you beleive in magic? " She asked catching my attention.  I do I guess since I went through a portal bringing me here.

"I guess....." I trailed off looking at my surroundings.  Something in me said that shit is about to go down. My instincts never let me down. I stopped in my tracks and decided to get her away from here.

"We have to go back. " I said with a serious tone of voice dragging her back to the castle.

"And why  is that?" She asked dumbfounded.

"Just go back trust me. " I said and she did so.  I stayed behind wanting to inspect what's coming our way.

I walked deeper into the woods and then climbed a tree. Since I was a little kid I loved climbing trees so why not make this fun.

"Sir we're close. " Someone beneath me said .  I looked down and of course it had to be a redcoat. What are they doing on Mackenzie territory?  I quickly jumped down taking the dagger and pointing it to his neck.

"State your business here. " I growled turning him around so he faced the other redcoats infront of us.

"We are here to meet with your Leader of clan Mackenzie . "One of them said taking out a piece of paper and cautiously coming up to me. I took a hold of the document and read it.

"Alright. " I mumbled letting the redcoat go.

"I see ye got friendly with our guests. " Angus one of the mackenzie men said smiling.

"If friendly welcome is putting a dagger to the throat... You people really are savages. " The leader almost shouted angered. Angus's smile dissappeared replaced with  a face of disgust.

"Were not the ones who hang people just because they want freedom. " I bit back.  I looked at Angus who stepped closer to me.

"You think I wouldn't recognised one of our own your accent betrayed you,  your a traitor to the Crown! " The leader once again tried to scare me.

"FUCK. THE.CROWN. " I said each word taking a step closer to the angered man.

"Now follow us to the castle. " Smiling Angus said looking at me.  I nodded and started walking.  The shocked redcoats followed without a word.  Most of them looked at me like I was trash like I was beneath them. But deep down they knew I would easily kill them.
