I searched for a while looking for a fig tree—they always provided some of the thickest branches. I started heading towards the northern parts of the jungle when I heard a faint "eeek" I angled my head around, spying a pair of small brown birds perched on a kapok tree. Stupid flyeaters, that noise could make a bat go deaf. I growled at them and they were silent for a bit, then "eeek".
I sighed. This is the first day for a moon I've been able to relax. Let it stay that way.
I left the stable earth and continued trudging against the wet leaves that lay rotting on the jungle floor. Due to the carcass things were made a lot more difficult to get around.
"Eew meww". I stopped hesitant for a moment, that noise was not a flyeater... I doubled back, heading the way I came, dragging the now cooling carcass behind me.
"Meew" My heart started to thump, that sort of sound was one from the mountains, no doubt.

I leaped over a group of holly bushes that grew in what was nearly a perfect circle from where I was. I forgot about the fawn and started looking around, if this was what I thought it was, I would have to find it soon.
As I turned my head to the middle of the clearing, my eyes widened and I gaped, a huge fig tree covered in vines, moss and birds was standing beautifully with it's splotchy brown branches sticking out in all directions. This would have been the perfect tree to feast in! I shook my head and got back on track, but I need to find—
"maarrrww" what if it has parents? What if they've just gone out to hunt?
I'm going to find it anyway...just incase it is alone.
