Scarlet's POV
December 10th
It has been a couple months now since I have moved here in Angel Haven, started Junior year, and join "The Outcasts" as Caleb calls it. Not much has happened these past months besides me getting closer with the group except with Blake. Blake has been awfully quiet. Finals are near so I thought it was because he's nervous, but something feels off. I know I don't know him that well, but he is still a friend and I want to help. School has started and Finals start tomorrow. I have thought of inviting my friends over at my house to help study for finals and to just hangout. I walk into the school and immediately greet my friends. "Hey guys", I say to them. Blake looks anxious and is wearing headphones. "Hey Scar, you ready for finals tomorrow?", Caleb asks me. "Hell no, but we can all be prepared for tomorrow if you guys come to my house so we can all study. Is that alright with you guys?", I ask. "Sure I'm in. Caleb and Blake you in?", Atlanta asks. "I'm in". "Blake?", I ask him. "Huh?", he says while taking off his headphones. "Oh sorry, what was the question again?", he says with a small smile. "Do you want to join us at my house today to study for finals tomorrow?" "Sure, what time?", he asks me. "Around 4, is that alright?" "Yeah", they all say in unison. The bell rings and we all get up to head to our classes. "What were you listening to, Blake?", I ask. "I was listening to Tyler, the Creator". "Tyler, the Creator? I didn't know you listen to him. He's a great song artist", I reply. "Yeah, he is". I start heading to class. Jake walks up to me. I sigh. "What do you want now?" "Can we talk at Lunch?", he asks me with a flirtatious smile. "Fine just let me go to class", I say annoyed. "Okay see you at Lunch", he says as he's walking away. "Jesus Christ, Jake won't leave me alone", I tell Caleb as I sit at the desk next to him. "Jake is annoying", he says with a chuckle. "Tell me about it".

Im sitting at the table with the rest while I wait for Jake. "Hey Blake?", I say. "Yeah". "Sorry if this is a strong question but you seem on edge, is everything alright?", I ask. "I'll tell you at your house after school, is that alright?", he asks with a small smile. "Yeah". Jake walks to the table. "Hey Scarlet can we talk now", Jake asks. "Yes, we can talk", I reply. "I'll be right back", I tell the group. They nod as I walk to one of the trees with Jake. "So what do you want to tell me?", I ask Jake. "Scarlet, I still like you." "Are you serious? Can't you get a fucking hint?", I say impatiently. I don't care if I'm rude he's is not taking a hint that I don't like him back. "What do you mean", he says. "Jake, I'm sorry but I don't like you back. Sorry", I reply. "Well , you leave me no choice", he says taking out a small book. "Jake what are you doing?" He starts chanting some weird language, but before he can finish, I see Blake running towards Jake and he punches him. "Ow! What are you doing tranny!?", he yells while he has one hand on his jaw. "Blake?", I look at him with a questioning and concerned look. "I'll explain later", he says knowing that I'm talking about the slur. "He was chanting a spell. A love spell.", he says interrupting the awkward silence between us and the whispers from classmates around us. "A love spell? What a jerk." "Scarlet don't believe her lies". "First of all, he, and secondly, explain the book and the chanting", I say angrily. "Fine, yes I was chanting a spell". "You jerk", I say as I'm about to punch him, but Blake stops me. "I got this", he says punching him again. "Briana this is not your fight", he says slightly yelling. "It is now and it's Blake you son of a bitch!", he says as he punches him again. "Blake don't do this", I say trying to stop him. "No Scar, he deserves it". Leaves and items start to levitate. Jake tries to punch him, but Blake dodges it. Leaves starts circling around the three of us at a fast pace as Blake punches him again which leads to Jake getting a bloody nose. "Okay, okay you win", Jake says backing up and covering his nose. "Leave my friends alone douchebag", Blake says. Items stop levitating and Jake leaves and so do the other classmates. Then, teachers arrive. "Oh shit", Blake says. "Scarlet, Blake, Principal's office. Now", a teacher says. "Yes Mrs. Flora", Blake and I say as we head to the Principal's office.

The Principal didn't suspend Blake because of finals but he gave us a warning. The group and I were so glad that not a single teacher saw Blake using his powers which I didn't know that he had in the first place. My moms were fine with them coming over to study. They are here now and Blake was about to explain to me about the slur and his powers. "I've had these powers since I was born. I always wondered why I never had friends. Until I got older and I understood that it was because people were scared even though this town is full of mysteries. Then my parents adopted Caleb and he became my brother and I felt less alone and we met Scarlet in 3rd grade. I felt better because I knew I wasn't alone anymore, but lately I've been feeling dysphoric than ever. I enrolled the high school as Briana, but I found out that I'm trans in sophomore year. I started using the name Blake. The school is very open minded because the principal has children that are in the community, but there are some close minded people like Jake that say hurtful things. I try not to let it get to me but it's hard", he tells me with teary eyes. "Blake, thank you for telling me this, I'm always here for you need someone to talk to or you just need a hug", I say giving him a hug. "Thank you, that means a lot", he says with a smile. "Before we start, Blake, where did you learn how to fight like that?", I ask him. "My dad owns a boxing class, so he taught me a few things", he says with a chuckle. Then we all start the study session.
