Julia's POV

"We're all tied up with Golden Eagles and the Red Hawks! Its been a long game that seems to drag on forever! But there's no time to waste. Each team has to decide, its now or never!"

"Oh sugar mama!" Alex screams. "My back dammit!"

"Would you stop being so dramatic?" Coach scolds him which earns a chuckle from everyone.

"Okay guys. So I know you all are tired. But we can win this. We can still do this. College scouts are here to see each and everyone of you. Do this for you. Go out there and make a win for yourselves. Your gonna make yourselves proud and push yourself to do your very best. So what do you say?"

"Let's go Golden Eagles!" We shout and head back on the field.

I've never felt so exhausted in my life.

Its been a non stop game. Tackling and scoring, injuries and cheers. I can honestly say that I'm tired now.

But college scouts are here. They came to recommend the best players. So that means that I have to continue to try my best.

"Oh! And the Golden Eagles have the ball in their control! Let's see if they can make it!"

Once that ball is passed to me, I ran. I ran so fast to the point where no one was behind me. The goal was mine.

I was so close. So close.

But in a flash, I wasn't.

The ball was quickly taken away from me rather brutally. I never thought my ankle would have hurt this bad. And now, I'm left on ground. And I scream so hard.

I couldn't do anything as the other team neared closer to their goal. And I certainly couldn't do anything when they scored. And it just accord to me that after working so hard...

We had lost the game.

"It was just a muscle contract, nothing serious. You'll be find by tomorrow. Just don't put too much pressure on it and keep using this ice pack." Nadine says hugging me and walks out the room. Just then, a knock follows right after.

"You scared me." I chuckle at Jace's relieved expression.

"I'm not about to die." I shake my head.

"I know, but you still scared me." He sits beside me on his bed. "I got some good news." I raise my brows in confusion. "The college scouts were asking for you."

"Really?" I sit up. "Why?"

"They want to offer you a scholarship."

"But, my ankle-"

"That doesn't matter."

"But we didn't win-"

"That doesn't matter either."

"Wow." I run my hands through my hair in amazement. I've always wanted to become a professional football player. Football has been my passion since forever.

"Oh my god!" I hug Jace tightly. "This is a miracle."

"I'm so proud of you baby." He kisses my hair. "You deserve it."

"Thank you."

"So..."

"What is it?" I say in an accusing tone.

"I was thinking about your step mom..." He scratches his head. "And I was thinking that you should go and talk to her."

I stare at him. He can't be serious.

"No! As in..you know, talk things out. I don't think you ever gave her a chance." He holds my two hands.

"Chance? I gave that woman too many chances to count, and yuh know dat."

"Well yeah, I know that. But, you never know what tomorrow will bring. What if she got in an accident or something?"

"Jace, I can't face her right now. I just can't. I'm prepared to talk to her. I need some time."

"Take all the time you need, okay?" He kisses my knuckles.

"You know I will. Just...please don't mention this again?"

"I won't." He smiles.

"Thank you." I giggle when he takes me in his arms.

"Now, tell me how you felt about that losing game Miss Wellington, we're dying to know!" I push him playfully when he mimics a reporter.

Tonight was prom.

And I was nervous.

No, that's an understatement.

"Julia, your doing it again." Brook waves her hand in my face. "Stop over thinking!"

"Sorry." I mutter. She places a hair pin in my hair to keep the piece of hair that I'm sure sneaked its way out.

My hair was cornrowed neatly, I didn't have on my makeup but Brook suggested that I put on lip gloss because they looked in her words chapped'.

"You'll be fine, okay?" She hugged me lovingly. I smiled back at her warmly. "Now, let's go shake our little touches off!"

"Yuh know this is prom right? Where people dance gracefully?"

"Oh sweetie, there's never a limit for dirty dancing." She winked. I simply laugh at her. She sure was something.

"Okay you two! Let's go! I want to capture every picture tonight!" Nadine comes into view. "Julia, may I?"

"Oh sure." I hand her my camera. It reminded me of my dad, and I refuse to call him right now.

"Okay ladies! Let's boogie!"

"You really don't want to try that." I hear a voice behind me. I put down the little glass with the wine and smile turning around to hug Jace as his scent wraps around me, leaving me in a trance.

"You look gorgeous." He whispers. I blush slightly, looking at him. "Absolutely beautiful."

"Oh stop." I smile, punching him slightly.

"Never." He smirks.

"Can you two like...not kiss yet? I want Julia to take her picture with the lip gloss on before she transfers it to Jace." Brook says out of fake frustration and the group laughs.

"I need a pic with my babe!" Ethan walks in dramatically, making everyone laugh.

These are the moments I'll treasure forever.

These guys aren't just my friends, their my family. And they've helped me to become a better person without even knowing.

"Group selfie!" Nadine shouts and we all pose.

"Okay gang, its time for the you all to dance your hearts out! So let's get it!"

"Yeah!"

"Shall we boogie on the dance floor?" Jace gestures his arms.

"We shall." I smile.

"I want to try the wine!" I shout over the loud music.

"If you really want to! Just don't drink too much!" He shouts back.

"Nah, I wanna try something different tonight!" I smirk. Just then, the music turns into a low song that I found very sexy.

I started to dance with Jace, and it felt like the only two of us where there alone. His arms around my waist as we swayed to the music.

I wasn't lost in the song, but I was lost in Jace too. The way he kept looking at me with admiration was enough to have my knees weak.

My breathing increased when his hands went towards my arse, pulling me closer to him.

"Are you ready?" I whisper softly to him.

"Ready for what?"

I simply walk to the other side of the room confidently.

I turn in his direction, his eyes never leaving mine.

And then I run towards him.

He most have caught the drift, because he caught me immediately and spun is around, slowly bringing me down to meet his face.

"Caught you." He smiles softly and I simply kiss him. The claps of the people around us made me pull away slowly.

"You two defiantly stole the show." Alexa sighs dramatically and I laugh when I see Ethan charging up to him.

"I told you that I am the dramatic one!" Alex ran ahead laughing his self off.

"I tried to warn him." Brook says in a scolding way, making everyone laugh.

I love these guys.

"So she's waisted." Lucus chuckles, looking at me.

"I told you not to drink so much wine Julia." Jace pinches his nose. I giggle and kiss his cheek.

"Okay." He picked me up, placing me on his lap.

"You have a fat neck." I giggle. "Its fat like my hair."

"Okay baby, you need some water." He kisses my forehead.

"Why do them call it buildings when they are done being built?" I rub my chin. "Why do they call it a butterfly when its not made out of butter? Why do they call it strawberries and there not actually straws? Why do they call it—"

"Oh my god, this is gold." Alexander chuckles.

"Oh I got one." Alex chimes. "Are you a waterfall? Because your water has me falling. Are you pepper? Because you bring spice to my rice. Are you a dinosaur? Because your beauty is extinct—"

"You said you got one." Lucus deadpans.

"And those pickup lines are terrible." Brook scrunches her nose.

"And somehow, they seemed to work on you." Alex winks at a now blushing Brook.

"Before you all head home, can we eat? I'm starving." Drake rubs his tummy.

"Where have you been all night?" Jace asks.

"This guy." He smirks. "Found himself a maiden. Yeah that's right, I have finally wooed a maiden."

I burst out laughing along with everyone else.

"First of all, never say that." Brook wipes the tears from her eyes. "And second of all, don't let her hear you say that. Like, ever."

"Your just jealous."

"Trust me, I'm not."

"My face is too round." Ethan smiles. "Let's all just say random things."

"My pants are too legged."

"My nose is too hard."

"That girl is as flat as a board."

"I eat dirt sometimes."

"I love the smell of stinky shoes."

We all turn around to face Drake.

"What? I find it quite...weird, but my type of normal."

We all laugh at his awkward face. I've never laughed so hard in my life. I love this guys.

I'm gonna treasure them forever.

Because they make me more than happy.

A/N: First of all, I would just like to apologize for going hiatus for a while. I'm also sorry for not updating in what feels like forever.

I'm going to be completely honest with you guys because I would never to y'all.

This is the only chapter where I've had to start writing and then delete so many times and start from scratch again. Its not because I was frustrated, it was because I felt extremely unmotivated. (your little gestures, comments, votes, well wishes and love motive me more than you could ever know)

And then the other thing is, I have so much homework, so much studying to do and I honestly haven't been in the right mind set recently.

Please be patient with me guys. Please don't give up on me. I'm so very sorry. Excuse this chapter because it wasn't my best.

I hope you guys are ready because things are about to get reaalll good. So I hope y'all enjoyed this little fun chapter. But don't hate me, it will get better.

The chapters coming will be better, I promise.
