Chapter 5

Rose stood in awe, admiring the castle. The glass-like structure stood tall, it’s very tip touching the clouds, and the rest of the castle was glistening under the sun. “Like, how-what… how is this place even here? How is this even possible?”, she questioned, gesturing both her hands to the castle.

Colored glass flowers were scattered all around the perimeter. The fragrance of all the flowers mixed together didn’t overwhelm her, in fact, it made her feel more alive. Even the surface beneath her feet, was just as beautiful: every gemstone on earth, maybe even more than the world knows, were crushed and molded together to form a pathway. Marveling at the ground too, she asked, “These stones, they’re beautiful, but I don’t recognize one of them. “That’s because that gem is supposed to be discovered in 30 years.”, Celeste said, pointing at the tan-ginger colored one. “That’s incredible - wait, how would you know that? Wait, can you predict the future too?!?”, Rose said, with the feeling of curiosity in her. “When you have “privileges” to some things, you learn more.” Rose bent down to pick up the rare stone, but all the stones looked like they were sealed under a glass sheet, then frowned. “Does it have a name?”, Rose asked curious. “Tangingerine.” “What is that?” “The stone, that’s what it’s called.” “Huh, I like that!” “Let’s go inside.” “Wait, in there?”, Rose asked, gesturing the castle with her eyes. “Yes, why are you shocked? What other reason would I bring you here?” “I don’t know, this just doesn’t seem like a place my luck would take me.”

“No, not luck, something much greater than luck has brought you here.”, Celeste stated. What did she mean “something much greater”? As they both approached the main entrance, Rose witnessed something she has never seen before: within seconds, a lavender-colored flower grew to its full potential. Rose gasped. Celeste knocked, and then a guard opened the large double doors. “Please identify yourself, ma’am”. Celeste gave him a glare. “Really? You know me already.” He laughed at her comment. The guard was tall, and had dark curly hair, a few strands spilling out from his armor helmet, with green eyes.  “It's for the record. Celeste sighed. “Celeste”, she stated. “And, um, your friend?” She took a deep breath, and spoke. “This is the one we have been waiting for, this is Rose Linton.”, she said with wide eyes. The guard’s mouth fell open, and he turned to face Rose. He bowed, and after a moment he cleared his throat and said, “It’s a true pleasure to meet you, my… miss. Access granted. Welcome to The Castle of Abolonia.” He then opened the grand doors, revealing its inside.

Rose walked inside with her new friend, gazing with such amazement at the castle’s decor. The floor was all abalone shell, and it sparkled as the sun came through the open doors. The walls, decorated with stunning paintings of magical sceneries, and the cream colored walls made the ornate pearl picture frames pop from the paintings. And under some of the paintings, were long chairs, with the same framework, except the cushions were lined with navy velvet. But the throne, was the jewel of the room: an entire frame of mother of pearl, carved with intricate swirls of stars, the four elements, and the stages of the moon, and all that intricacy went down to the armrests and the legs of the throne, and pearls were embedded on the top to shape a crown, and the back and seat cushions looked like more abalone, but soft and velvety.

“This place is just as beautiful as every other”, whispered Rose. “Why are we whispering?”, the guard asked. “Oh, sorry… I don't know your name”, she said. “Oh, my bad, my name is Amos.” “Ooh, nice name, Amos” “Um, thank you, miss Rose” “Please, call me Rose.” “Sure - I mean yes.” Celeste cleared her throat. “So, um, where is she?” Rose turned to face her. “What do you mean by she?” Celeste and Amos exchanged the same look. “What? Am I supposed to not know something or…?”, Rose questioned. “Um, no. It’s just that I brought you here for a reason. I have to bring you to someone and -” “That’s me, I believe?”, said a feminine, womanly voice.

They all turned to the woman, startled. Rose was stunned. She was so beautiful. Blonde hair, pulled perfectly into a large bun, with a gorgeous, silver crown encrusted with blue sapphires and tanzanite. Her gown was a pale powder blue with a silver hue, and had a thick strip of silver lace running down the middle, with even more round and diamond cut sapphires. The bodice had blue lace around the edge. Her eyes, a pale blue, that looked identical to Rose’s. They locked eyes, and her gaze was caring, loving, but joyful- and they looked so familiar. Tearing her gaze away, she said, “Thank you, the both of you.” Celeste curtsied at the same time Amos bowed, and he left. Celeste took a seat, and nodded her head. Then the woman cleared her throat.

“So, welcome Rose”, she said calmly. “Hi” Rose’s eyes widened and she curtsied. “My apologies I didn't curtsy the moment your other guests did… your Highness?" "I am Queen Stellina. Queen of Castle of Abalonia. It is my pleasure to see you here, my dear." "The pleasure is all mine. May I ask why I was brought here?" The queen gave Rose a warm smile. "Of course. You should know…" Celeste gave an encouraging stare.

The queen then cleared her throat. "My dear Rose, you are quite special to be here today." A brief silence filled to room. "Um, how so?", Rose questioned, turning to Celeste, as a result of Celeste ignoring her stare. "You will play an important role here. You are a very important piece to our world." Rose gaped at the queen's words. She then looked down at her feet. "I am still dreaming? I got to be, I mean, this just can't be possible! Like, me -", "Rose, you're not dreaming. This is very real, and this should be taken seriously.", Celeste interrupted. Rose swallowed hard, "Where am I anyway? No one explained this to me.", she said in a low tone. Both Rose and Queen Stellina turn their gazes to Celeste. "I'm sorry, I just didn't know how to handle it, see, we have been waiting for so long that-" "We will discuss this later, Celeste?" Celeste's eyes widened. "Yes, my queen." "What does she mean, we have been waiting for so long?", Rose pressed. "Welcome to Uniclandia! I will make sure you are guided in the correct territories, by your personal guard Amos, and I will assure you that Celeste shall protect you if anything should arise. Or at least lead you down the right path. When it is convenient for you, I will have some of my people escort you to the chambers of the palace you need to be in." "Wait, please, I still can't comprehend what's happening. Please tell me… why am I here?" The queen's gaze stared deeply into Rose's eyes. "Rose Linton, you are here to serve your parents' purpose, and your life's purpose; you will be the future queen of Uniclandia."
