Chapter 10

Horrified by the thunderclaps, they all began to look at the queen in despair, in fear of what Queen Spina might be capable of that they didn't know yet. "My queen, if this is a sign that means the darkness will fall over Uniclandia, we need a plan as soon as we can. People have disappeared because of their fear of her.", Amos explained.

"I know. Come with me, we are going to strategize a plan right now.", Queen Stellina said. As they all followed her back to the plan room, they heard another loud thunderclap. Shivat ran to the windows in the throne room and barked continuously. "She senses something.", Amos said darkly. "Come here Shivat, we want you safe.", Celeste called sweetly.

"So, what's the plan?", Rose asked the queen anxiously. "Well, Celeste, you have practiced maintaining your powers, correct?" "Yes." "Amos, you've practiced your role, right?" "Yes I have, my queen" Queen Stellina whistled to Shivat, and she lifted her head. "Shivat, you know your part." Shivat barked in response. "Good. Now Rose, it's your turn, to know what to do when you must defend yourself when no one else is left.", Queen Stellina replied. "How? Amos and Shivat are bodyguards, and Celeste has powers. What do I have?", she asked desperately. "I'm getting to that right now. So, you have powers as well, and Celeste will teach you how to use them at the right time, and how to summon them when necessary. You will also have a 'code' when you are apart."

"I have powers? How come I never knew? I could've hurt someone without knowing why.", Rose replied saddened. "But you didn't. You are about to be 22, that's when it awakens inside you. So, Celeste has had a project made for your training only. Celeste?", the queen gestured. "Yes. C'mon Rose, I'll take you there. After you get the basics, the rest of our plan will come together.", Celeste said walking away with Rose. Climbing up the stairs took a while, but they finally came to the second before last door on the right end of an abalone hallway. "We're here!", Celeste said, panting.

As she opened the door, Rose caught something gleaming from inside the room. "This is our Practice Powers room. We'll be here often." "Wow. That's all I can say.", Rose replied quietly. " I hope you like it! It's made of Herkimer diamond.", Celeste explained, knocking on the herkimer walls. "This is what Shivat is made of. But she is the best kind of herkimer so she is harder to shatter. She has to be nearly indestructible. Like I wish I could be for you when it's time for the war.", Celeste said sadly.

"I appreciate your help. ", Rose replied, her eyes watery. Hearing Celeste say those words was like a knife to her heart, from her tone of voice, to her expressions, she already cared about her so much. "Don't make me emotional. Let's start training!", Celeste said, wiping her eyes. "So,", she said walking Rose to the middle of the room, "let me show you what I can do first, okay?", she asked sweetly. "Please! Go ahead!" Celeste closed her eyes, finding the harmony within her body, heart, and soul, she then raised her hands waist level. Then, beautiful blue mist appeared and formed into a large star. Rose's eyes widened at the sight. Then the star began to swirl, speeding faster and faster as every second passed. Then she aimed the magical star at a mannequin in the corner of the room. Celeste threw her arms outward, and the magic bolt slammed the mannequin up to the ceiling, and smashed it down on the opposite wall, with a loud bang.

Celeste dropped her arms, panting. When she turned to Rose, she was staring at her veins, glowing bright blue. "Oh, that happens every time I use my abilities.", she answered Rose's unspoken question, smiling. "I… that's… that was beautiful.", she exclaimed in amazement. "Thank you, it took me years of work to practice that one.", Celeste chuckled. "Alright! So, the prophecy said you would have a forcefield power, as well a levitation, and some more great stuff. If you can, show me what you got!", she shouted enthusiastically. "How?", Rose asked in a tone that suggested a duh kind of situation. "Oh, so sorry! I want you to focus on some of your best memories, or what might make you feel more alive.", she explained. "Um, okay.", Rose answered, sounding more like a question. Rose then closed her eyes, and tried to go back to a time when everything was good. But all she could think of was panic, fear, sadness, discouragement. She opened her eyes, tears at the brim. "I can't think of my good memories. It's like I forgot them.", she wept. "No, Rose! I'm sure your fear and you underestimating yourself isn't gonna help. Relax, be in harmony with yourself. Believe.", Celeste encouraged.

"Okay, I'll try." Attempting again, this time a good memory came to her, then disappeared. "What?! I had it, it slipped from me.", Rose pouted. "I want you to try again." "Fine", she sighed. The memory flashes in her mind, then disappeared again. "Again." "Why?" "Because you're not a quitter. Keep going.", Celeste answered, determined. Rose attempted over and over, to the point they both lost count.

"We knew this was going to happen, your majesty.", Amos stated playfully. "Yes, I know, but I didn't think it would take a little while longer than planned.", Queen Stellina called out, concerned. "It's been 5 and a half hours!", he laughed. "Oh, stop teasing! When you first began training, you were up with your mentor until sunrise.", she shot back, all in good fun. "That's true.", Amos chuckled. "But all those hours were well worth because look at how amazing of a guard you are." Amos felt a warmth in his heart, and grinned. "That is a great honor to hear from you, majesty. Thank you.", he replied, then bowed. "But I am still concerned. You know how I feel about her. She is dear to my heart, in several ways." "I understand what you mean.", he replied.

                                                                    🌹

"Please, I'm EXHAUSTED!", Rose yelled loudly. Celeste huffed. "Okay, stop." "Thank goodness!!!", Rose's exclaimed, collapsing to the floor. "I just want you get this faster than I did.", she explained. "I know you care, but no offense but, but the time I finish training with you, it'll be too late.", Rose laughed, then sighed. "Haha. Okay, freshen up, then we'll eat dinner, alright?" "Yes, absolutely!", Rose called walking away. Celeste started counting with her fingers, mouthing "3,2,1…" "By the way, where is my room again?!" Celeste laughed. "At the end of the hallway, take a left, second to last one!" "Thank you!" "Hm, you're very welcome.", Celeste said to herself. "Thank you. I know you're helping me out a little.", she whispered, then left the practice room.

Jogging down the stairs, she heard the queen and Amos laughing. "Hey, we're done for today!" "Oh, wow! You should have been done 4 hours ago!", Amos teased. "He's right, but at least it's not sunrise.", Celeste said poking his shoulder, while Queen Stellina laughed. "So, when are you gonna tell her?", Celeste questioned Queen Stellina. "I'm not ready yet. Plus, it's too early. You just began teaching her.", she explained.  "Not ready for what?", Rose asked suspiciously. They all jumped at her sudden question.

"Uh..", Amos started, but Celeste took it from there. "I was just saying that you're not ready to battle against those mannequins yet.", she lied. "Oh, I know that! Gosh, I'm starving.", Rose said weakly. "Let's have some dinner, shall we?", Queen Stellina offered. "Yes, please." Suddenly, a large amount of butlers escorted them all to the dining room, and served them their meal." "Here is some more citrine gemstone tea. It's also mixed with Fluorite, to relieve stress.", Amos offered. "Thank you."

                                                                     🌹

After they finished their dinner, they all took a rest in a lounge room, filled with books, paintings, and couches. All the furniture was made of nephrite jade. With a warm fire burning, they all quietly sipped the rest of their tea. The queen had not joined them because she felt weak and had gone to bed, so did Shivat. So it was only Rose, Celeste, and Amos. "Do we have a full plan?", Rose asked. "We came up with part of the plan. You learning to grow and maintain your abilities is the key to it all.", Amos answered. "And gemography.", he joked.

"Gemography?", Rose questioned, shocked. "Yes. I believe you know what that is right? You know, learning parts of the world?", he said. "Oh, geography! I know what that is, really?" "Geography? You're pronouncing it wrong.", Celeste interfered. "No, I'm not- oh, never mind. I realized your pronunciations of some words are different from where I come from." "Ooohhhhh.", Celeste and Amos said in unison. "Anyway, what's the plan so far?", Rose asked again.

"Yeah, back to that. The plan is once you learn to balance your powers out, we all go into the darkness of Uniclandia. We analyze the layout of her castle, then we strategize how to force her into surrendering. If an attack happens, me and Celeste will protect you." "You won't… die, right?", Rose asked concerned. "Rose, it's what we have to do when necessary. That's our job." Rose put down her kyanite teacup and breathed deeply. "I won't let anyone die for me, especially you guys. You mean so much to me already so I can't lose you two. You are the only ones I know here.", she said, pain in her voice. Celeste and Amos gave her a sympathetic look. Then Celeste cleared her throat. "Did the queen tell you we will have a secret code?!" "Yeah, she did!" As they resumed chatting, from behind the entrance of the lounge room, Queen Stellina was standing behind the wall, listening to all three of them talk, like they were friends for life. She then smiled, and made her way to her room.
