Chapter 40: Blue and Ethan

Blue: I…have no words…

Leon: I do! YOU DAMN LUCKY SON OF A-!

Rebecca: Don’t worry, Leon! You still have to chase after Ada!

Ada smirked, playfully feigning jealousy.

Ada: I don’t know, I might be a bit jealous, you know~

Leon threw his hands up in exasperation.

Leon: FUUUUUUU-!

Bela: Don’t speak…just fight…for me.

Her words ignited a fire within him. A wave of motivation washed over Blue, pushing aside the fear that had been holding him back. He turned back toward Wesker, a new determination coursing through him.

This time, he wouldn’t hold back. Blue concentrated, electricity crackling around his body, illuminating the area with a bright, bluish hue. He could feel the power surging through him, the fear replaced with a fierce resolve.

The ground beneath him pulsed with energy as he unleashed his powers, feeling more alive than he ever had.

Blue: Wesker! Run Thy Fade!

Wesker smirked, clearly amused by Blue’s transformation.

Wesker: You think that’s going to make a difference?

With a burst of speed, Blue launched himself at Wesker, electricity crackling around his fists as he swung with all his might. The power behind his blows was strong....dormant for a while...and he finally got to let loose.

Wesker barely had time to react as Blue’s fist connected, sending him staggering back.

Wesker: You think you can keep up?

Blue: I should be asking you that, you look like you're about to crack

With every strike, he grew stronger, fueled by the lack of weight on him from his past chains. This time, it would be different....this time, he wouldn’t hold back....

He was going to kill Wesker.

Blue stood his ground, his body sparking with intense energy as he faced off against Wesker. The crackling sound of electricity filled the air, and everyone watching could sense the shift in the atmosphere.

This wasn’t just a fight anymore, this was Blue unleashing the full extent of his powers. The electricity pulsed through his veins like a second heartbeat, radiating out from his core.

Wesker narrowed his eyes, clearly underestimating the surge of energy Blue now wielded. He lunged forward, faster than before, his movements a blur to most, but Blue was ready.

With a swift motion, he raised his palm, and a torrent of electricity shot out, slamming into Wesker mid-dash. The jolt was enough to knock him back several feet, and the ground beneath Wesker scorched from the sheer voltage.

Blue didn’t stop there. He raised both hands, shooting arcs of electricity from his palms like living tendrils, each one tracking Wesker’s movements.

The villain darted left and right, trying to dodge, but the energy was relentless, sparking off surfaces and crashing toward him like a storm of lightning.

Wesker tried to retaliate, closing the distance with his unnatural speed, but as soon as he got close, Blue’s body instinctively emitted a shockwave of electricity, forcing Wesker to leap back to avoid being fried on the spot.

This defensive barrier was something Blue hadn’t even consciously activated, it was a raw manifestation of his power, protecting him as his body surged with energy.

Wesker: You're stronger than I thought...

His movements became more calculated, but even he was struggling to keep pace. He rushed forward again, throwing a series of rapid strikes, but Blue blocked and countered each one with an electrified punch or kick.

Every blow that landed sent sparks flying, and Wesker recoiled in pain with each hit.

Blue: You didn’t expect this, did you? Are you going to regret your decisions now?

Chris: This....This is unreal, we all knew he had this....

Claire: But to actually see it be used in this way....it's breathtaking

Jill: Wesker can't keep up, this battle is going to end in one way

Leon: Another win for the Winters, they just never lose, do they?

Ashley: Unless Blue takes a math test, but he really is amazing, isn't he?

Rebecca: That's our team mascot!

Sheva: Team mascot? You could say that, but I'd say he is just the strongest.

Jake: And I thought I was strong...glad Blue is going to kill Wesker...I don't need that hold on me anymore

Ada: I knew this kid was special from the moment Ezekiel told me about him....but I didn't know it was like this

Heisenberg: Fuck him up, Blue!

Donna: Language....

Angie: No no, FUCK HIM UP!

Alcina: I'd say we are lucky that he is like this. If he was ruthless and knew about his power, some of us would be dead

Bela: But instead he is just an adorable teddy bear that I love

Daniela: That we love!

Cassandra: He is just an idiot -_-, but he's strong

Miranda: You truly are....above us all, aren't you? Blue Winters.....

Everyone's jaws just continued to drop as they saw the sheer magnitude of power that Blue was wielding. This was beyond anything they had imagined.

Except Eveline.

Eveline: All according to cake.....

She watched in quiet observation, her mind replaying the intense battle between Blue and Ezekiel that had occurred not too long after Blue had awoken from his coma.

What she didn’t expect, however, was the sudden shift in Blue’s power. Just as Wesker seemed to be regaining his footing, something changed.

Blue’s hands, which had been crackling with raw electricity, began to glow with a different light. A blue flame flickered to life around his palms.

It was subtle at first, a soft glow of fire that mixed with the crackling electricity. But then it grew stronger, more defined, until Blue was wielding just the flames.

The air around Blue grew hotter, the temperature rising as his power escalated.

Eveline’s eyes widened as she realised that Blue could now use Blue Flames, and her mind raced back to the fight with Ezekiel. Ezekiel had wielded flames during their battle, but they had been ordinary flames, bright orange and red.

Blue had only used electricity back then, but now, it was as if he had tapped into a new, untapped reservoir of power.

Eveline: Was he always capable of this?

Leon: Shouldn't you know?

Eveline: N-No....not this

Eveline had never seen this side of him before, not even in the fight with Ezekiel when he unleashed his power.

But there it was...Blue's body surrounded by blue flames, standing tall against Wesker. The flames danced across his skin, he was a walking furnace now, and Wesker was struggling to keep up.

The once confident Bio Human was beginning to feel the pressure. He moved faster, striking harder, but Blue countered every move with a speed and strength that outmatched even him.

Wesker threw a punch, but Blue caught his fist mid-air, blue flames swirling around his arm as the two locked eyes.

Blue: Okay, I know I just started to use this, but you're boring me now. It's time to treat you like a toy in a science experiment....

With a burst of energy, Blue swung his other fist with the idea of testing his limits. His fist was engulfed in both lightning and fire, and slammed into Wesker’s chest.

The impact sent Wesker flying backward, crashing into the wall with a thunderous boom. The flames scorched his clothing, and the electricity sizzled in the air as Wesker hit the ground, dazed and momentarily stunned.

The ground beneath Blue crackled with residual energy, his body still radiating power as he stood tall, ready for whatever came next.

Wesker slowly pulled himself up, but for the first time in the fight, there was uncertainty in his eyes. He had expected to dominate, but now…he was facing something beyond his comprehension.

Blue wasn’t just stronger, he was something more. Something unstoppable.

Wesker: You think you can win this?

Blue: Think? No, Big Man....I know I've won

Blue puts his hands together and shoots out a large blast of blue flames towards Wesker, he was about to dodge, but felt someone shoot his knee caps.

It was Jake, who flips him off as Wesker is engulfed by the flames. Blue stood amidst the remnants of the battle, his breath steadying as he regained his composure.

The air was charged with the residual energy from his fight with Wesker, and everyone around him was in shock, still processing what they had just witnessed.

Blue had fought Wesker head-on and emerged victorious, burning him to ash with the combined might of his blue flames and electricity.

Claire: Blue, that was incredible!

Blue: Huh? Haha, I guess it was ^_^

Jill: You really took it to him. I didn't think anyone could take Wesker down like that.

Even Miranda, who had always kept a cool facade, allowed a faint smile to tug at the corners of her mouth.

Miranda: Impressive work, child

Jake: Thanks for getting rid of him, Blue, I'm happy I took part in getting rid of that asshole....hopefully for good

Blue: Of course, Jake, I got you

Blue let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding, a sense of relief washing over him. But as the weight of the moment settled in, he remembered the true challenge that still lay ahead.

Wesker was gone, but the Flower Mold remained, and with it, the fate of Ethan hung in the balance.

Leon: All that's left is the Flower Mold itself

Chris: Yeah, okay listen up-!

Blue: I’m going to do this myself

Sheva: What?

Helena: Blue, are you sure?

Blue: Yes, you need to evacuate the BSAA soldiers. This outpost is going to be destroyed....maybe

The atmosphere shifted. While everyone else eventually nodded in agreement, Eveline, Ashley, Donna and Daniela weren't convinced.

Ashley: You can’t do this alone, Blue. We want to help

Daniela: Please, let us fight with you

Bela: Maybe you should all just....trust the process

Eveline: Did you just-?!

Bela: Yes, I did

Blue: We truly were destined for each other

Bela leaned in and kissed him softly, then pushed him toward the direction where Ethan was seemingly located.

Bela: Yes, now go

With newfound resolve, Blue took off, racing through the outpost until he found Ethan’s mind controlled body near what looked like the core of the Flower Mold’s Seed.

The air was thick with a sense of foreboding, and he could feel the oppressive energy surrounding him.

As he approached, the Flower’s voice echoed through Ethan’s body, reverberating in a way that sent chills down Blue’s spine.

Flower: So...the young boy has come to stop us. You are too late, Young Winters.

Blue: Please, I've been more late to school than this. This is still early, and I'm going to stop you right here, right now!

Flower: Foolish boy. Everything you try, we put a stop to it.

Blue: Wait...what do you mean by everything?

Flower: Do you remember when you discovered the properties of our essence? To heal? You healed Alcina Dimitrescu and her Daughters.....you healed Donna Beneviento and her doll with their problems. But then you tried to use it on Ethan.

Blue: It didn't work...it rejected Ethan or something. Bit rude if you ask me

Flower: Yes, because when you tried to save Ethan, we made sure to reject the part that would get rid of the Mold. We needed it in our plan to transform the world and make Ethan the host

Blue: W-What? So the reason it didn't work was because of you?!

Flower: Of course, that is why Ethan is our main host. You made him our host by injecting us into a major source of the Mold.

Blue: You...I’m going to burn you for good!

Flower: Then come forth, Child of Man...and die!

With that, the Flower raised its arms, and a cage of twisting vines erupted around it, forming a barrier that glimmered ominously.

From the shadows emerge giant creatures and monstrous plants, representing the twisted union of utopian and dystopian life, ready to face him.

Blue: Don't want to fight me directly? That's fine by me!

As he prepared to engage the creatures, he felt the presence of his Brother still in there. He also started to remember Mia's words....Bring Ethan back....

And that was what he was going to do.

With a fierce battle cry, Blue charged forward, unleashing a torrent of electricity that surged through the air like a storm, ready to reclaim his Brother and end the Flower’s reign of terror once and for all.

Blue felt the surge of electricity coursing through him, empowering every strike as he faced the plant creatures that emerged from the shadows.

With each bolt he unleashed, arcs of electricity illuminated the dimly lit chamber, frying the vines and tendrils that reached for him. The air crackled around him, and as he tapped into the blue flames he had recently discovered within himself.

They danced like ethereal wisps, scorching any monstrosity that dared approach. The combination of electricity and blue flames proved devastating, clearing a path through the army of plant creatures that sought to engulf him.

Blue moved with newfound confidence, the dual powers amplifying his speed and strength as he dodged and weaved through the oncoming assaults.

But just as he thought he was gaining the upper hand, a massive vine shot from the ground like a serpent, wrapping around his torso and slamming him against the wall with bone-crushing force.

The impact knocked the breath from his lungs, and he crumpled to his knees, gasping for air.

Blue: I-I feel like I'm in Dark Souls with these hits I'm taking

Just as the creature loomed over him, ready to strike again, the sharp crack of a gunshot echoed through the chamber. Blue turned his head to the side, and to his surprise, he saw Eveline standing a few feet away, a handgun gripped tightly in her hand.

Blue: Eveline?! You shouldn’t be here!

Eveline: I’m not leaving you!

Eveline fired again, the bullet finding its mark in the vine that had been poised to attack. It recoiled, allowing Blue a moment to recover.

Blue: You don’t even have powers anymore!

Eveline: I don’t care! It was always me and you in these stupid moments!

Blue sighed, torn between wanting to protect her and the undeniable bond they shared.

Blue: Fine, but don’t you dare get hurt.

Eveline: I should be saying that to you!

Eveline countered, her face set in determination as she took another shot, the bullet slicing through the air with deadly accuracy. With Eveline by his side, Blue felt a surge of renewed strength.

Blue: Alright then, let’s do this together

Blue grins as he focused on the nearest group of plant creatures, gathering his energy and channeling it into a massive surge of electricity, his body glowing with intensity.

Eveline stayed close, firing at anything that got too close, her resolve unwavering. Together, they fought as a well-oiled machine, Blue unleashing powerful bursts of either electricity or blue flames while Eveline provided cover fire.

The once-ominous chamber now reverberated with the sounds of their combined efforts. Blue and Eveline fought valiantly against the relentless tide of Flower Mold creatures that poured from the ground like an endless army.

Blue's electricity surged through the air as he blasted the monsters with shockwaves, each crackle a reminder of his growing strength.

Blue: So when did you learn how to use a gun?

Eveline: Ethan taught me some tricks

Blue: Really? Never thought he would

Eveline: I thought you would've at least

Blue: I'm scared you would have shot me

Eveline: Hah, yeah maybe I would've

Eveline fired her handgun with precision, taking out anything that got too close, her determination unwavering despite the overwhelming odds.

But even with their combined efforts, the flower monsters kept coming. It was like fighting a never-ending swarm, each defeated creature replaced almost instantly by another.

Blue’s heart sank as he realised the truth: to stop this, he needed to confront the Flower Mold directly.

He glanced over at Ethan, who remained trapped in the monstrous grasp of the entity, and felt a chill of despair. Killing the Flower meant harming Ethan, and the thought paralyzed him.

Eveline: Blue!

Eveline shouted, her voice piercing through the chaos. He turned just in time to see a massive vine tendril wrap around her waist, lifting her off the ground.

Eveline: A-A little help?

Blue: Don't worry! I can fix this!

He sprang toward her, but was immediately blocked by a wall of giant plant monsters, their forms twisting and writhing as they moved to keep Blue occupied.

Blue: Okay nevermind! I am not Bob the Builder!

Blue scanned for an opening, and in that moment of desperation, he spotted a clear path leading directly to Ethan and the heart of the Flower Mold. If he could just reach it, he could end this fight....yet the reality hit him like a punch to the gut.

Ethan was still there, trapped and in danger.

Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind, cutting through the clamor of battle.

Ethan: Blue, you have to do what is needed.

Blue: E-Ethan? How am I hearing you? Is this some form of schizophrenia?

Ethan: Nevermind that! You’ve got to let go and burn this thing to ashes!

Blue: I-I can’t!

Ethan: Yes, you can! I know it’s me, but none of that matters! If you leave this thing alive, you’ll endanger everyone’s lives!

Blue: But-!

Ethan: No, Blue! As your older brother, I want you to incinerate me and this thing! It’s the only way!

Ethan’s words struck deep, and Blue felt the weight of his brother's resolve.

Blue: N-No! I can't! I can't lose you again! I fought so damn hard to get you back!

Ethan: I.....I know, Blue.....and I'm proud of you....but this was always how this was going to end......

Blue: Ethan.....please....please just tell me if there is another way

Ethan: There isn't.....please.....just be the best uncle to Rose. No....be the best Godfather

Blue: Wait! What-?!

Ethan: Don't think....just accept

Blue: The uncle and the Godfather. F-Fine! But when I get to Heaven, I'm drop kicking you!

Blue retorted, his heart heavy with the thought of losing Ethan forever.

Ethan: That’s fine....I have no regrets. Watch over Mia and Rose for me....Little Brother....

Blue: I will.....Big Brother....

Ethan: And make sure that harem of yours doesn’t get out of control!

Blue: Prat!

Just then, the connection faded, Ethan's mind was pulled away by the Flower’s influence. Blue’s gaze snapped back to Eveline, who struggled against the tightening vine, her breath coming in quick gasps.

He could see the urgency in her eyes, the fear that threatened to overwhelm her. The thought of losing her was unbearable, so Blue channeled his blue flames, feeling the heat build within him.

Blue: That's it! No more holding back!

A fire ignites in his chest, and he pushed himself forward, channeling all his energy into one powerful wave of blue flames aimed directly at the Flower Mold.

Blue: Back to Hell! You damn plant!

The burning blue flames erupted from his palms, consuming the tendrils and creatures that stood in his way. The flames danced like a furious storm, scorching everything in their path.

Flower: NOOOOOOOOOO! BLUE WINTEEEEEEEEEEERS!

He watched as the flames reached the Flower Mold itself. With one final push, Blue unleashed the full force of his power, incinerating the core of the Flower Mold and the Seed it had planted deep within Ethan’s body.

The air was filled with a roar of flames, a fierce heat radiating throughout the chamber.

Blue’s heart pounded in his chest as he witnessed the grotesque form of the Flower Mold burn away, leaving behind nothing but ashes. As the flames receded, the world fell silent.

Blue stared at the smoldering remains, his heart heavy with the reality of what he had done. He had burned the very being that had held his brother captive, but in doing so, he had also sacrificed Ethan.

Blue: I’m so sorry, Ethan....

As the last of the Flower Mold burned to ash, every monstrous plant creature in the chamber disintegrated into wisps of dark smoke, their twisted forms collapsing into dust.

The room grew eerily silent as remnants of the once-terrifying creatures drifted away, leaving only Blue and Eveline amidst the aftermath.

The vine that had trapped Eveline dissolved into ash, and she fell forward, exhausted. But before she could hit the ground, Blue moved swiftly, catching her in his arms.

She looked up at him, her eyes filled with relief and gratitude, her arms instinctively wrapping around his neck.

Blue’s heart swelled as Eveline, without hesitation, leaned up and kissed him on the lips, the warmth of her touch melting the last traces of tension within him.

Eveline: You took too long

Blue managed a small, weary smile, the weight of everything he’d just endured reflected in his eyes.

Blue: Can you blame me?

Eveline laughed softly and kissed him again.

Eveline: No

In that moment, Blue felt the full weight of everything he’d gone through....the battle, the sacrifice, the loss of Ethan. It welled up inside him, raw and overwhelming.

He wanted to keep it together, but Eveline seemed to sense the emotions he was struggling to hold back. She pressed her hand gently against his cheek and whispered,

Eveline: Blue....let it all go

Her words broke through the last of his resolve, and he lowered his head to her shoulder, finally allowing himself to grieve.

Tears streamed silently down his face, and Eveline held him close, her arms steady and comforting as he released the sorrow he’d carried alone for so long.

The grief of losing Ethan, the exhaustion from the fight, and the relief of still having Eveline by his side....all of it poured out in silent sobs until his strength ebbed away entirely.

As he clung to her, Blue's body gave in to the exhaustion that had been building. His breathing slowed, and he felt a gentle warmth surrounding him as darkness gently pulled him under.

Eveline held him tightly as he drifted off, her own silent promise of comfort and protection enveloping him as he surrendered to the much needed rest.

After shedding a few tears of her own, due to her redeemed connection to Ethan, Eveline went to drag Blue back to the others.

Outside the chamber, the others were waiting, sensing that something monumental had just ended. For now, though, Blue rested, his burden lightened by those who loved him, and the quiet peace that followed the battle gently settled over them all.

Eveline took it upon herself to explain to everyone what had happened. Standing amidst the group, she delivered the heartbreaking news of Ethan’s sacrifice.

There was a somber stillness in the air as each person absorbed the weight of the loss.

Leon clenched his fists, struggling to contain his grief while Rebecca pressed a hand to her mouth, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. Sheva closed her eyes, whispering a quiet prayer under her breath.

Jill placed a comforting hand on Chris’ shoulder, seeing the sadness in his eyes as he stood silently, bearing the weight of yet another fallen comrade.

Jake: No....not Ethan

Claire: It shouldn't have ended like this!

Sheva: Why.....why can't that man just get his peace?

Helena: At least he can experience peace in the skies....free from the Mold

Ashley: P-Poor Rose...and Mia!

Daniela, Bela, and Cassandra shared a silent glance, understanding the pain of losing family, while Alcina placed a steadying arm around them.

Even Heisenberg looked down, uncharacteristically quiet, muttering something under his breath about brave fools while taking off his hat.

Donna lowered her head, Angie unusually silent as her usual playful spark dulled in the face of such a loss. Ada and Miranda were just silent, and didn't say a word.

The following day, everyone returned to Romania, and Blue, having woken from his rest, joined Chris to deliver the news to Mia and Elena.

The reunion with Mia was heart wrenching. She stared at Blue and Chris as they told her, her expression shifting from confusion to utter devastation.

When the reality set in, Mia broke down, her body shaking with sobs as she held Rose close, the child sensing her mother’s anguish yet too young to understand its source.

Rose blinked up at Mia’s tear-streaked face, reaching a small hand to touch her mother’s cheek, her own innocent confusion reflected in her wide eyes.

Elena looked on, visibly affected as she tried to be a source of strength for Mia, but even she had tears in her eyes, understanding the pain of loss all too well.

She gently rubbed Mia’s back as she cried, offering words of comfort despite her own sorrow. Blue, holding back his own emotions for Mia’s sake, knelt beside her.

Blue: Ethan....he fought hard, Mia. He saved us all by making that decision. And he wanted you to know that he loved you and Rose, more than anything.

Mia looked up at Blue, her tear streaked face filled with anguish and gratitude. She reached for his hand, clutching it tightly.

Mia: Thank you, Blue. For everything. I...I just wish...I wish he could be here.

Blue: Me too. But he’s watching over you both....I know he is.

Chris placed a hand on Blue’s shoulder, offering a supportive nod before turning to Mia.

Chris: He was a hero, Mia. He saved more than just us. He saved the world by making that decision.

Then, Blue begins to remember what Mia told him before he left for the mission.

Mia: You better come back with Ethan, you promise me that, Blue!

Blue: I will, I swear it...we’re bringing him back.

Blue: I....failed to keep my promise Mia...I didn't bring him back! I'm.......I-I am a failure!

Mia: What? No no, Blue...you're not a failure!

Mia wraps her free arm around Blue and brings him in close.

Mia: Y-You did your best, and Ethan was the one to tell you to let go....I can never blame you...or get angry at you. You're still a young boy barely entering adulthood....so don't think it's your fault.

Blue: I-I'll try......thank you.

As preparations for Ethan’s funeral began, the atmosphere in the BSAA base was heavy with sorrow. Everyone was quietly engaged in their own thoughts, the weight of loss palpable in the air.

Yet, amidst this solemn mood, Miranda approached Blue, her expression unreadable.

Miranda: Put me back in my cell already, I can’t be bothered to be around watery faces.

Blue: Actually....how about we change things up a bit?

With that, he stepped forward and, to everyone’s shock, he broke the hand shackles that bound her using his strength. Miranda gasped, her eyes widening in disbelief as the metal clattered to the ground.

Eveline: B-Blue?!

Leon: What are you doing?!

Heisenberg: He has truly lost the plot

Helena: Blue, what is the meaning of this?

Sheva: She is dangerous!

Cassandra: Once an idiot, always an idiot.....

Jake: I have no words.....

Blue: I think Miranda has earned her freedom. She helped us take down the Flower Mold in a way, and without her, we would have had no idea that literal fire was our best weapon against it. We would have wasted time and resources on explosives, which wouldn’t have worked on the Seed itself.

Miranda blinked, clearly flustered.

Miranda: But...I killed you! I-I tried to set you up for failure by not telling you about the Flower before you started to use!

Blue: Ah, that’s all in the past, if you had told me, I wouldn’t have believed you anyway. Besides, I’m still standing here, aren’t I?

Miranda sighed, a mix of frustration and reluctant appreciation washing over her.

Miranda: Heavens sake, you’re an idiotic child.

Blue: But you like me, right? I mean you kept saying it back then, so you don't really hate me!

Miranda’s cheeks flushed slightly, and she turned her head away.

Miranda: Shut your mouth!

Blue: Okay ._.

The lighthearted exchange broke through the somber atmosphere, momentarily lifting the heaviness that had settled over everyone.

Eveline, Daniela, and Bela exchanged amused glances, while Jill and Chris exchanged knowing smirks, impressed by Blue’s audacity.

The funeral was somber, a quiet tribute to Ethan Winters, whose body could not be laid to rest, his ashes scattered along with the remains of the Flower Mold.

A plain coffin adorned with white lilies sat at the front, symbolizing the sacrifice he made for everyone, even if there was no body within.

Friends, allies, and family gathered, each one sharing stories, memories, and respects for the man who had saved them all at a great cost.

Leon stood off to the side, his jaw clenched, clearly upset by the absence of Ada. It was a quiet reminder of their complicated history, but Blue placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

Blue: She’ll come around, Leon....I think

Leon: Thanks, Blue. She’s never really….gone. She'll show up her face at some point

Blue just nodded knowingly. They shared a silent moment together, understanding that some things, and some people, were destined to orbit their lives in unpredictable ways.

During the funeral, Blue was with his small but devoted group of girlfriends: Eveline, Donna, Ashley, Daniela, and Bela.

He never thought he would be in this position, but here he was. Eveline broke the silence with a casual yet loaded question.

Eveline: So…are we stopping at five?

There was a moment of pause before Bela shook her head adamantly, a playful glint in her eye.

Bela: I don't think so. I have a funny feeling there’s going to be more girls coming out of nowhere with confessions for Little Blue

Blue: Not you as well ;_;

The other girls laughed, a welcome break from the weight of grief hanging over them.

Donna: More girls....that is interesting

Daniela: I think Blue’s already got his hands full.

Blue: I am but one boy

Eveline: Well, let’s be clear about one thing. Only I get to decide if they’re part of this…group. I’m the main girl.

Ashley: That's understandable

The others exchanged amused glances, nodding their agreement while shooting Blue teasing smiles.

He laughed, feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude for each of them, even amid the chaotic mess his life had become. Eveline looked at him warmly.

Eveline: This is what Ethan would have wanted, you know. For us to keep living, keep fighting, keep...loving.

Blue smiled back, understanding. He pulled them all into a tight embrace, taking strength from each of them, grateful for this unconventional family he’d found.

Blue just wished Ethan was here to keep seeing it.....

Blue stood with his girlfriends for a moment longer, their hands intertwined, their eyes reflecting a mix of sorrow and warmth.

He knew he needed a moment to himself, a quiet space to process everything that had happened. He took a deep breath, stepping back slightly.

Blue: I’m going to leave for a bit,

Ashley: Where are you going?

Blue: Just need to do something

Bela: Just be careful, okay?

Blue: Of course,

Blue pressed a gentle kiss on her lips, savoring the warmth and familiarity before turning to Donna. He kissed her, feeling her soft smile against his lips, then moved to Ashley, Daniela, and finally Eveline each kiss a promise of his return.

With a last look at his girls, he walked away, feeling a mix of strength and melancholy. He approached Heisenberg, who was leaning against his pickup truck.

Blue: Can you drive me to the Village?

Heisenberg: Hm? Yeah, sure

Heisenberg climbed into the driver’s seat. The engine roared to life, and they drove off towards the Village, the familiar path stretching out before them.

As they entered the Village, Blue noticed its eerie emptiness. The streets were silent, save for the sound of their tires on the gravel.

Alcina, her Daughters, and Donna are still at the Winters House for the aftermath of the funeral. Heisenberg glanced at Blue, confused.

Heisenberg: So.....why did you want to come here?

Blue: There’s....one more person I need to see.

Heisenberg: Alright, I’ll wait here for when you’re done.

Blue nodded, grateful for his understanding. He stepped out of the truck and made his way into the Village, each step echoing with the memories of his past.

After a few minutes of walking, he reached the lake, the sun sparkling on the water’s surface. There, near a carriage, stood the figure he was searching for.

Blue: Duke....

The merchant turned, a smile breaking across his round face.

Duke: Ah, Blue Winters! I should’ve known you would come and find me.

Blue: I thought you should know that, both myself and Ethan would find you at the right moments during our siege into the Village.

Duke: Yes indeed. Is the funeral over?

Blue: It basically is by the time I arrived

Duke: Mmm…a good man, Ethan Winters was. It’s a shame that he couldn’t maintain that peace for long

Blue: Yeah, but at least he got to spend as much time as he could with his family. I just wish I could have spent more time with him.....God, I really need to become the best uncle out there.

Duke: I’m sure you already are, Young Blue. Your characteristics would even make you a great Father.

Blue: Let’s…not talk about me being a Father just yet ._.

Duke: Ahaha, of course! How many lovers have you picked up now?

Blue: Five Q_Q

Duke laughed heartily, and Blue joined him, the sound echoing against the tranquil waters. Together, they sat in silence, watching the lake as the sun cast its golden light, the moment stretching on in peaceful reflection.

Ethan Winters may be gone, but Blue Winters was determined to carry his brother’s legacy forward, a fire within him ignited by love, loss, and the promise of a new dawn.
