Chapter 32: Prisoner In Tow
Blue: What does this have to do with the Mold? What did I bring back with me?
Miranda leaned forward as much as her restraints would allow, her eyes locked onto Blue’s.
Miranda: That flower was a catalyst, a link to the Mold’s evolution. By taking it, you’ve awakened something far older and more powerful than you could imagine. And now, it’s using your loved ones, your friends, as vessels.
Blue: No.....
Miranda: It’s you, Blue, your curiosity, your need to uncover every secret, that’s brought this upon us.
Blue: No!
Blue almost staggered back, the weight of her words crashing down on him. He had unknowingly unleashed this horror, and now his Brother, his friends, and countless others were paying the price.
He clenched his fists, anger and guilt burning in his chest.
Blue: Tell me how to stop it!
Miranda smiled, a cruel, knowing smile.
Miranda: I could tell you, but where would the fun be in that? No, Blue, this is your mess. You’ll have to find your own way to clean it up. But be warned, the Mold doesn’t give up its vessels easily. And if you’re not careful, you might just lose yourself in the process.
Blue said nothing and slowly turned around, he stormed out of the cell, Miranda’s mocking laughter echoing behind him. As he left the darkened corridor and emerged back into the base, his mind was already churning with plans.
He didn’t have much time to think, he can do that on the way. Heisenberg was going to be at his house, and there were preparations to make. But one thing was certain, this was far from over.
If Miranda was right, then he will have to be the key to stop this. And he would do whatever it took to save his Brother, his friends, and the world from the darkness he had inadvertently unleashed.
He started it, and you damn well know he was going to end it.
Time had passed since Blue’s tense confrontation with Mother Miranda, and now the group had gathered at Ethan and Mia’s house. Though the home was meant to be a sanctuary for the Winters family, the air was thick with tension and unease.
The cozy living room, filled with memories of happier times, felt like a fortress under siege. The situation had brought everyone together, but it was clear that the peace they sought was a distant dream.
Blue sat on the couch, leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees, deep in thought.
Eveline was next to him, her expression was full of worry.
Daniela looked shaken, her hands fidgeting in her lap.
Heisenberg, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, seemed more amused than anything, though the sharpness in his gaze showed he understood the gravity of the situation.
Mia was sitting on the other couch, cradling baby Rose, her protective instincts on high alert.
Beside her was Ashley Graham, who had come over earlier that day to visit and spend time with Mia and Rose before everything went to hell.
Ashley’s normally bright demeanor was subdued, her eyes wide with concern as she listened to Blue recount the events at the BSAA base.
Elena was seated near the fireplace, her eyes distant as she absorbed the news. Blue finished explaining what had happened, his voice tinged with frustration and guilt.
Blue: So that’s where we stand. Something....an evolved form of the Mold...is controlling Ethan, the others, and it’s all because of that damn flower. Whatever it is, it’s powerful, and it’s spreading fast. We need to figure out how to stop it before things get worse.
Mia looked down at Rose, her heart aching.
Mia: I can’t believe this is happening again…Ethan…
Rose: Dada?
Mia: Y-Yes Rose...Dada is okay
Her voice cracked with emotion, but she forced herself to stay strong for her daughter.
Mia: We can’t let it take him. We have to bring him back.
Ashley: What do we need to do? I’m not exactly a fighter, but I’ll do whatever I can to help.
Eveline: We’re not going to let that thing win. We’ve been through too much to give up now. We’ll get Ethan back, Mia. I promise.
Daniela: Whatever’s controlling them...it almost got me too. But I never took that flower's help, so we should be fine
Eveline: So Blue....that theory of yours?
Blue: Right....Chris, Leon, Jill....all of them are like this because recently they went on missions....investigating sites that may contain the essence of the mold. They came into contact...and the Flower waited for the right moment to take control of their minds
Ashley: That's horrible!
Mia: But smart.....
Heisenberg: Well, this sure is one hell of a mess, but at least it’s a mess we can clean up together. You’ve got me, and that means you’ve got more firepower than you know what to do with.
Blue: That's...actually true
Heisenberg: The perfect description for myself! We’ll turn this around, after all, it’s our first adventure where we’re not trying to kill each other. That’s gotta count for something.
Blue looked around the room, feeling a strange mix of hope and dread. He knew the stakes were higher than ever, but he also knew he wasn’t alone in this fight.
They had a small but formidable team, a mix of survivors, fighters, and those who had seen more than their fair share of horror. If anyone could find a way to end this nightmare, it was them.
Especially him....
Blue: Well it's obvious we need a plan, normally I'd like to go in Leroy Jenkins Style, but I can't afford to F about.
Elena: Do you have one?
Blue: No but I have an idea on who can make a plan for me, but I'll do that in a moment
Mia, still holding Rose close, looked at Blue, her eyes fierce despite the tears threatening to fall.
Mia: Are you confident about all of this, Blue?
Blue’s expression darkened as he remembered his conversation with Miranda. He knew what he had to do, even if it meant confronting the dark secrets of the Mold once more.
Blue: No, but I'll make myself confident. I’m going back to the BSAA base.
Daniela: Wait, why?
Blue: Miranda has more answers, and I’m going to get them. She knows more about this than she’s letting on. If anyone can help us understand what we’re dealing with, it’s her.
Eveline: Are you sure that’s a good idea? She’s dangerous, Blue. You’ve already seen how she manipulates people. What if she’s leading you into a trap?
Blue: I don’t have a choice now, do I? If there’s even a chance she can help us stop this, I have to take it. I’ll be careful of course, she is defenseless at the moment and I'm more than confident that I can beat her....I think?
Heisenberg: Alright then, you heard the man. We’ve got work to do. Three hours to get everything ready, and then we hit the ground running! Weapons! Supplies! And Food! Love me some Chicken.....
Ashley: I’ll help with whatever I can. We’re not losing anyone else to this! Plus I can save Leon for once!
Elena: I’ll stay here, make sure Mia and Rose are okay. I'm assuming you'll all be travelling since we don't know where this thing took everyone.
Blue stood up, feeling the weight of responsibility settle on his shoulders. This was it....the beginning of their counterattack. They had a long road ahead, but they had each other, and that was enough to give him hope.
As the group dispersed to prepare, Blue took one last look around the room. He didn't know when he was going to be back here, but he will promise that he'll come back alive with everyone else....especially Ethan.
With that thought, Blue headed for the door. It was time to face Miranda again, and this time, he wouldn’t leave without the answers they needed.

Heisenberg’s truck roared down the empty road, the cracked asphalt blurring under the wheels as he drove Blue back to the BSAA base. The sky was a dreary gray, clouds thick and heavy, matching the weight in Blue’s chest.
He stared out the window, his thoughts on what Miranda had told him and the danger Ethan and the others were in.
Why can't peace stay consistent?
The base came into view, its once busy grounds now eerily silent. No guards, no movement, not even the hum of machinery. The gates stood wide open as if welcoming them into the heart of something dark and foreboding.
Heisenberg: Place looks dead. You sure you want to do this alone, Blue?
Blue gave a faint nod, his eyes narrowing at the base's entrance.
Blue: Yeah, I have to. Miranda’s the only one who knows what’s going on. I’ll handle it.
Heisenberg: Alright. Just give a shout if you need backup. I’ll be ready.
Blue nods his head and exited the truck, feeling the weight of the situation settle on his shoulders. The stillness of the base unnerved him as he walked through the abandoned halls.
Everything was eerily quiet, as though the very walls were holding their breath. It wasn’t long before he reached Miranda’s cell, the dim lights casting long shadows.
She was still there, chained to the chair, her regal poise undiminished by her captivity. As Blue stepped closer, she slowly looked up, a wicked smirk curling on her lips.
Miranda: Well, well....come back for more, have we?
Blue: I need some answers, Miranda. And you’re going to give them to me.
Miranda chuckled softly, leaning back in her chair, the chains clinking with the movement.
Miranda: Answers? Oh, Blue, you poor boy. You won’t get what you want, no matter how you try.
Blue’s lips twitched into a quiet laugh. Without a word, he raised his hand, and with a flick of his fingers, electricity crackled to life, dancing across his palm.
Bright arcs of lightning surged between his fingers, casting flickering shadows around the room. Miranda’s eyes widened in genuine shock.
Miranda: How…..how are you able to do that? What are you?
Blue clenched his fist, the lightning dissipating as quickly as it had appeared.
Blue: I was an experiment. A product of the company CORE. They created me...but I escaped. So yeah, you could say I’m a runaway project.
Miranda’s expression twisted into one of understanding, and something akin to amusement.
Miranda: So that’s why they’ve been hunting you…..you’re an escaped product of theirs. You’re more valuable than I thought~
Blue stepped closer, the chains around her rattling as she shrank back slightly.
Blue: And if you don’t tell me what I need to know and help us stop this, I’ll make sure you don’t get another chance to play your games......
In truth, Blue wasn’t sure if he’d go through with his threat. He had only recently unlocked these powers during his deathmatch against Ezekiel.
And despite his show of control, the raw force behind them frightened him. But Miranda didn’t need to know that. Miranda’s eyes flicked to his hand, clearly calculating.
Finally, she sighed, slumping back into her chair.
Miranda: Fine. I’ll tell you what I know. But I’m not doing this for you, Blue. I’m doing this because I have no intention of dying here.
Blue gestured for her to continue, and Miranda’s voice grew colder, more serious.
Miranda: The advanced Mold has a connection to me, even now. It’s taken Ethan and the others.....it’s brought them to Alaska. There are outposts there, BSAA outposts, where they store certain…assets. The Flower Mold is using them as a staging ground.
Blue: Alaska? Damn, we really going on a trip
Miranda: Yes you are, the main outpost is where the Flower itself is, where Ethan will be. He’s the primary vessel for this new evolution of the Mold. If you want to stop it, you’ll have to destroy each outpost.
Blue: Domestic Terrorism? My favourite!
Miranda: [Sighs] Be warned, each one will be heavily fortified by those you call friends, and by the time you reach the main outpost, the Flower will be ready to spread its influence across the world.
Blue: Yeah, as if I'd let that happen.
Miranda: Then you know what to do, correct?
Blue: Destroy the outposts, take down the Mold, and get Ethan back.
Miranda: Good, now if you'll kindly leave-
Blue: And you’re coming with us! :D
Miranda: [Eyes Widen] W-What?
Without another word, Blue reached out and broke the chains with his enhanced strength. The ones on her wrists, however, remained intact. He hoisted her over his shoulder as if she weighed nothing.
Miranda: B-Blue! Put me down!
Blue: Nope
Miranda flushed, her composure cracking.
Miranda: Blue, I’m serious! Put me down this instant!
Blue: Nien
Miranda: Do it now!
Blue: Nyet.
Miranda’s blush deepened, her voice flustered.
Miranda: You don’t need me for this! I’ve told you everything!
Blue started walking out of the base, Miranda still slung over his shoulder.
Blue: Actually, we do. You’re coming to Alaska. You know this Mold better than anyone, and I’m not risking leaving you here.
Miranda’s voice faltered, caught between frustration and embarrassment.
Miranda: Blue…I swear that I will!
Blue: Yeah yeah, whatever!
They stepped out into the open, where Heisenberg was leaning casually against the truck, his brow raised in disbelief at the sight of Blue carrying Mother Miranda like a sack of potatoes.
His cigarette nearly fell from his mouth as he took in the scene. Heisenberg blinked, looking between Blue and Miranda.
Heisenberg: Uh…what the hell is going on here?
Blue walked toward the truck, still carrying Miranda, who’s blush had not faded.
Blue: We’re going to Alaska and she’s coming with us.
Miranda: Blue!
Heisenberg snorted, shaking his head in disbelief.
Heisenberg: This is getting weirder by the minute. But I love it
