Before leaving for Tokyo, Bellamy called Vince back to have him meet Dom in Los Angeles. Dom pulls up beside the ran down racetrack where his dad used to race before making his way over to the open garage beside it. Dom hears a baseball game being announced on the radio as he and Vince look around the garage.
"Place still looks the same," Dom says as he looks over at Buddy, who is working on a truck.
"Just like your dad left it," Buddy says as he glances over at Dom and Vince.
"We're looking for Jakob," Vince reveals as Dom fully turns to look at Buddy.
"Can't help you, boys," Buddy says as he shakes his head.
"I know you took Jakob in after my father died," Dom explains as he continues to look at Buddy, knowing that he would know what Jakob is up to.
"The worst thing you can do to a Toretto is take away their family," Buddy says with a slight glare as he looks up at Dom, while Vince looks down because he knows how devastated Bellamy was when Jakob left. "That's what you did to Jakob. You've got people who love you, count on you, care for you. He ain't got no one. You get in his way, this ain't gonna end until one of you guys are in the ground."
"I know you did the best you could, Buddy," Dom admits with a small sigh. "But we both know he's about to cause a lot of hurt." Buddy sighs with a small nod, setting his tool down before wiping his hands on a rag.
"I did my best to take care of Jakob. But I'm no Jack Toretto," Buddy explains as he grabs a Corona, opening it before handing it to Dom. Buddy grabs his own beer as he rests against a tool cart. "You've got to make peace with the past if you..." Buddy sighs as he sits his beer down. "If you want hope for the future. He's in London. That's all I know." Dom sets his beer down before going to leave. "Dom." Dom stops as Buddy stands up. "I hope you find your peace." Buddy takes a drink of his beer.
"The chance for peace died that day on the track," Dom tells him before leaving.
"Thanks, Buddy," Vince says as he quickly follows after Dom.
TOKYO
Mia, Bellamy, and Letty look around Tokyo for the garage that is listed on Han's file before finding the garage all boarded up. Letty pulls a board off of the window on the door before looking through the busted window with her flashlight. Letty reaches her arm through the busted window, unlocking the door.
"Han's old shop," Mia says as they look around the garage that hasn't been touched by anyone beside scavengers since Han's death. "God! It looks like this place has been picked over a thousand times."
"Gotta start somewhere," Bellamy responds with a shrug as she walks deeper into the garage.
"It doesn't make any sense," Mia says while looking around. "I mean, Han ends up in Tokyo and he's supposed to have something to do with the key? But police records make it sound like he was running around with a bunch of small time crooks." Mia follows Letty into what appears to be an office as Letty lets out a laugh.
"Don't mock it," Letty defends as she looks at the stuff on a desk. "That's how we started."
"Maybe Han was looking for a change of scenery after Gisele died," Bellamy suggest as she walks into the office before Letty starts looking through a cabinet while Mia looks at the papers on the floor. "People mourn in different ways."
"How did Mr. Nobody get connected with Han?" Mia asks as she stands up to look at Letty and her sister. "And they never... They never crossed paths unless..."
"Gisele," Letty responds as she looks over at Mia. "She's former Mossad." Mia pulls out her phone to look at the information that Tej had sent them. "Mr. Nobody is a spy. They could have run in the same circles."
"There's Mossad clearance all over the files Mr. Nobody had on Han," Mia says with a nod as she looks at the information. "Mission spikes going back to Mexico, which is where Gisele was working when she met Dom and Brian." Letty walks over to Mia, who looks up at her in shock. "Gisele's gotta be the link."
"Leave it to Mr. Nobody to confuse everyone," Letty says with a shake of her head as it starts to make sense.
"I don't think we are going to find anything here," Bellamy sighs in defeat as she kicks an empty box. "Let's get out of here. I'll check in Vince and Dom."
"And I'll check in with Tej and Roman," Mia adds as she pulls up the contact labeled MOUTH on her phone.
"This place is a dead end," Letty says as she sets a bowl of food in front of Mia.
"Do you think Jakob could be onto the Han connection?" Mia asks as Letty sits down across from her and Bellamy sits beside her.
"If he has all the information we do, probably," Bellamy answers her with a shrug, causing Mia to lightly shake her head.
"I never told Dom or you..." Mia admits as she looks up at Bellamy, who looks at her confused. "I stayed in touch with him for a while after what happened." Letty raises her eyebrows in question as she eats. "He was over at Buddy's for about a year, and then... he was gone with a message not to follow. But after he disappeared, I was so desperate to find him that I would've done anything." Mia starts to pick at her food. "I even broke into a police archive, but I didn't find anything."
"You what?" Letty asks her in shock at the revelation. "You were like 16."
"I did what I had to do," Mia responds with a nod of her head.
"After everything happened with Brian and we all went our separate ways, I went to tell Buddy bye and he was there," Bellamy admits which causes both women to look at her with wide eyes. "We didn't talk long before he had to leave. But he seemed different. Like he was not use to staying in one place for very long. And he seemed hardened."
"Yeah," Letty states in understanding as she looks at her beer bottle.
"How are you doing?" Mia questions after she takes in Letty's reaction. "It's a change of pace, huh?"
"Just as I was remembering..." Letty starts explaining after letting out a small laugh. "Who I was, everything changed. It slowed down." Mia takes a bite of her food as she remembers what it was like when she and Brian first settled down. "There's peace for me in the chaos. It's like I need to face the world head-on or something to feel alive." Letty looks from her beer bottle to Mia. "Seeing Little Brian hiding in a hole because we had unexpected company... that got to me. We never used to hide."
"Yeah, it got me too," Bellamy admits with a sigh. "I love my brother but hiding is no way to live. Vince and I take it one day at a time."
"Hey, Dom's our brother, but you will always be our sister," Mia tells her with a caring smile while Bellamy nods in agreement.
"Funny how we all have secrets," Letty replies with a smile while glancing around before something catches her eye.
"What?" Bellamy asks as she notices Letty focused on something behind her and Mia.
"You got to be kidding me," Letty says as she pulls the postcard out of her jacket.
"What is it?" Mia asks while Letty slides the postcard over to her.
"Remember what Han used to say about Tokyo?" Letty asks as she stands up before Mia follows her.
"You mean how in all the old Westerns, cowboys would make a run for the border to get away from the law, how Tokyo was his..." Mia answers as she looks at the postcard in confusion.
"Mexico," Letty finishes for her while pointing up to a Mexican flag that is in the window of an apartment.
"No way," Bellamy says with a smile as she looks up at the flag. Not a one of them noticing that they are being watched from the shadows.
