We ran from the scientist who were horrible to us. Though, sometimes, people are left behind. We can't control some things that happen to us. I surely couldn't, though I did try. Clair was left and captured again, and I felt it was by fault. I should have stayed with her, but I kept running. From fear or sadness, I don't know, I just knew I couldn't stop.

I was in human form and I knew I would tire quickly. I still ran. Further than I thought I would. I eventually ran out of the open into a forest. The trees were tall and the branches were high up, leaving the ground almost empty. There was no brush or foliage, only dry pine needles. It was shady and cool.

I slowed and started walking, looking around and taking in my surroundings. Eventually I felt as if I went far enough to be "safe". I walked over to one of the giant trees and collapsed at the base of it. Sadness surged through me.

"I've failed you Clair...." I called into the lonely darkness, "I was a coward and I left you behind! I've failed you!" I called again.

I grew quieter and a tear fell down my face. As I said, my mood changes my appearance. I transformed into an wolf pup, small and defenseless. My black fur was fluffy and unhelpful.

I was tired and sore so I lay down and sleep. Nightmares were strewn threw my head all night.
