Chapter 1: A New Beginning
"You're awake." A voice noted from the direction of my feet. He sounded very tired and maybe a little depressed. I looked in the direction of his voice and blinked, but all I saw was black and a small bit of grey in the middle of the darkness.
"W-who's there?" I asked in a small voice. I tried to move my hand out in front of me to try to possibly feel the person out, but something cold against my wrist held them to what felt like a metal railing.
"Do you remember anything?" The voice asked, and I heard the shuffling that in the back of my mind I knew was the sound of a body getting up from a chair. Terrified, I studdered "N-n-no, s-sir," and closed my eyes tightly.
Instead of doing... I don't know what, the voice sighed and muttered "So I could have been in my own bed this whole time.." with a small tch. I then flinched when I felt a surprisingly warm hand grab my wrist. I heard a click! and felt the metal restraints fall from my wrists, and then my ankles. I pulled my hands close to my chest, rubbing my wrists.
"Stay here and don't move or else." The tired, warm handed human said, and then the sound of footsteps and a door opening told me he had left what ever room I was in. Shaking, I felt my surroundings, feeling out a bed and some tubes or wires coming from the inside of my elbows and on my chest. I brought my hand up to my neck, and felt a band of sturdy cloth with something attached to it.
I heard more voices coming in the vicinity of where the first voice had left, and then the sound of the door opening again. "Who-who are you?" I called out, pulling my knees close to my chest and holding my hands in a protective position in front of my face. I then felt a sting in my stomache, which made me wince.
"Relax, you don't need to worry. You're in a safe place." Said a kind, female voice, one that seemed almost grandmotherly. I felt a hand gently pull my knees from my chest and my hands away from my face. "There we go! Now we can see your nice face!" Said a voice that almost seemed... shorter.
"Th-that didn't really answer my question..." I noted softly, and I looked in the direction of my hands. I heard closer voice mess with something on my right, and then the shorter voice said "Of course! I am the Principal of U.A High School, and that is Recovery Girl, our nurse. The one who was in here earlier was Eraserhead, a teacher here."
"Um... excuse me, but... Do you know who I am?" I asked the Principal nervously. "I don't remember anything." I fingered the sleave of my clothing.
"It's okay! Your name is Akiko, and you will be a student here in a couple months when the new school year starts," the Principal explained. "Yesterday, while you were going some where, you were hit by a young girl's quirk that she couldn't control. Her-"
"What's a quirk?" I interupted, sitting up.
Recovery Girl spoke up. "A quirk is an ability that roughly 80% of the world's population has. They vary greatly, from the ability to levitate small objects to controling fire."
"Do I have a quirk?" I followed, hopeful.
Silence. And then: "No, you are part of the 20% that does not have a quirk."
"So I'm quirkless? That means that I'm unique, right?" I exclaim, surprisingly happy.
"Yes, Akiko-chan, you are quirkless, but you're more than that- you have ths honor of being the first quirkless person to ever get into U.A!" States the Principal proudly. "Awesome!" I said, beaming.
"Yes. You are going to be in the general studies class 1-B, but back to what I was saying. You were hit by a girl's quirk, which happed to be an amnesia quirk. We don't know how long it will last, but we are currently researching more into it," Said the Principal. "I have places to go, so I will see you on the first day of school." I heard footsteps go to the door, open and close it, and walk down the hall, away from the room.
"In a few days you will be healed enough to leave, but until then, you will be watched here." Recovery Girl informed me as she started to mess with the cloth on mu neck.
"This choker has a tracking device in it. It sends data to me so that I can keep track of your health," she tells me, "We don't have any of your medical data, so this will help us fill that in.
"Also, the amnesia quirk seemed to had injured your internal organs, so this will make sure your life is not threatened."
"I understand." I told her, nodding my head.
"I'm going to do some tests, so please do your best on them. Now first..."
Two months later...
It's finally here! My first day at U.A. High! The school where every pro hero went!
And I walked onto campus, ready for anything that it would throw at me.
