Chapter 46. Lost and Confused
"This is exciting," I said as I glanced between my mom and Mr. Stilinski. For some reason, I had decided to sit right between them on the bleachers and I was really starting to regret it. They weren't really talking to me, instead they were talking over me- while I just sat there and froze my ass off. I didn't really dress all that well for the cold temperature tonight, and my jeans were too thin to keep any heat in them.
My mom nodded, "Yes, very exciting."
I let out a sigh as I looked over to Scott and Stiles, they were sitting beside each other on the bench. I have no idea why Scott isn't out on the field, but that must be what Gerard meant when he said only one co-captain. Jackson had been the one co-captain. I bit down on my lip as I crossed my arms over my chest in attempt to seal some heat in, but it wasn't really working all that well.
Coach approached Scott and Stiles, and after a few moments of conversation Stiles sprung up off the bench and ran on to the field with his stick and helmet in hand. My eyes widened in excitement at the realization that he was going to get to play. He was finally going to be able to play.
"Oh no. Why is my son running out to the field?" Mr. Stilinski asked with a sigh.
My mom rose an eyebrow in confusion, "Because he's on the team?"
"He is. He's on the team. He's--he's on the field. My son is on the field!" Mr. Stilinski cheered as he stood up and proudly smiled. I couldn't help but smile as well, he looked so happy right now.
As the whistle started and Stiles caught his first ball, I perked up in my seat and just about let out a cheer- but before I could, he was shoved to the ground. I winced as I watched the other team run off with the ball, and my boyfriend lay on the ground. "He's just warming up, is all." My mom said as she bit at her fingernail.
Ten seconds later another ball came towards Stiles, and as he manuevered his stick to scoop it up off the ground, three guys from the other team plowed right over top of him. I let out a sigh as my leg began to bounce up and down anxiously, "Maybe he's just a little nervous. He's got plenty of time to turn this around." I was trying to convince myself more than anyone at this point. Watching him get hit repeatedly like this is starting to make my chest hurt.
I glanced at Scott, who was sitting on the bench and he was looking directly at me. When he realized I had finally looked at him he sighed, "Don't go near Gerard." He mouthed to me. I nodded in understanding and he bit down on his lip as he glanced back to the field.
Why would I go near Gerard? It's not like I have a death wish, if anything I am trying to keep myself and the people I care about very much alive at the moment. My phone started to vibrate in my pocket, and I pulled it out to check the text message. It was from an unknown number.
You know exactly who this is. Come over to me now.
My eyes widened as I glanced over to Gerard, he was watching me with a smirk planted firmly on his face. I let out a shaky breath as I looked to Scott again, he was focused on the game- this was my chance. If I don't go over to him, he may have Jackson hurt someone. And it's not like he can kill me with all of these people around.
"I have to pee, I'll be right back." I said to my mom as I awkwardly clambered over her and stumbled off the bleachers. As I walked down the sideline I watched Stiles get hit on the helmet with a ball, and the crowd boo'd at his horrendous game play. I can't think about that right now.
When I approached Gerard he smiled at me, "Scott your sister seems much more obedient than you."
I glanced over my shoulder to see Scott looking at me fearfully, he had just told me not to come over here- yet I did. Has Gerard been standing over here, talking to Scott the entire time? What has he been saying? Was he threatening to hurt me? Is that why he told me to stay away from him.
"Kasey, I don't want to hurt you. Your kind is so rare, and can be so useful. For instance, as much as you will deny it, I know you care about Derek. He has become a staple in your life, holding all of this craziness together. Now, I just need you to get him to me. I will offer you the same deal I gave your brother. You have until the last thirty seconds of the game, if he's not here- I will kill someone." Gerard chuckled the last word as he glanced out on to the field, his eyes locking on Stiles.
Everything around me stopped as I watched Jackson walk right past Stiles on the field, I nearly threw up my dinner at just the thought of Jackson walking past him and then snapping his neck in literally two seconds. My eyes widened as I glanced back at Gerard, "I-I can't get him here." I stammered nervously.
Gerard smirked, "You have to. I know you can do it, Derek cares for you... you and Scott are both very important to him, I could see that instantly. That's how I know that you can bring him to me."
My heart was pounding and the only thing I could hear was each individual thump in my ears, I can't get Derek here. There's no way in hell I'd be able to get him to agree to meet Gerard so he could be killed. And Scott doesn't want me to bring Derek here. That means someone is going to die. And Gerard is personally threatening Stiles. I can't breathe. I can't breathe again. I blinked rapidly as I tried to calm myself down, now is so not the time for this. I need to think clearly and try to come up with a different plan.
"Listen, I-I can't do this. I-I can't help you," I stammered once again as I swallowed nervously, my eyes gluing onto Stiles as he ran across the field. If something happened to him because I couldn't get Derek here, I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
He chuckled as he glanced at me, "You know what you have to do, Kasey... and I wouldn't be wasting time if I were you."
"No, please. Just-just, I... do something to me, okay? If Derek doesn't get here- kill me. Don't- don't kill him. Not him." I pleaded desperately. I can't breathe. I can't think. I can't function correctly. If Stiles life is being dangled above me right now, I won't be able to get Derek here. I know that I won't be able to.
Gerard rose an eyebrow, "You would rather die?"
"Yes. Yes, I would. Look, I-I can't get him here. Scott can't either, he doesn't trust us. He doesn't...he doesn't even like me, okay? Please, there has to be something else. Anything else. I'll do anything," I begged.
"My terms remain the same, now- if I were you I would go sit back down before your mother gets a bit too worried about you." He stated as he nodded his head in the direction of my mom, she was watching me with wide eyes.
I let out a shaky breath as I walked over to Scott, Coach didn't seem to notice me as I sat down on the bench beside him. "Scott... listen to me, I-I can't- I can't-" My words weren't coming out correctly, and I knew it was because of how scared I was.
He nodded, "I know. Kase, I won't let him hurt anyone, okay? I just... I need to get on the field somehow."
Isaac then appeared on the other side of my brother, "You came to help?" I asked him quickly.
He smiled, "I came to win."
"Okay- look, you need to get him on the field. Jackson is-is going to kill someone, and we need to be able to stop him." I said quickly, my words rushing out in a jumbles mess.
Scott sighed, "Coach has a whole bench of other players to use before me."
Isaac and I made eye contact and I knew we both were on the same wavelength, "Can you get them off the field without severely hurting any of them?" I asked.
He smirked, "I can try."
"Kasey, go and sit with mom. If anything happens, get her and Stiles' dad out of here, okay?" Scott instructed me.
"Scott I can't leave you and Stiles-"
My brother narrowed his eyes at me, "Promise me you'll try to get them out of here."
I sighed in defeat, "I'll try."
✢
I was now back in the bleachers beside my mom and Stiles' dad, Lydia had joined us and was watching the game with us. My mind was an absolute mess, and I didn't know which thought to focus on at the moment. Isaac had managed to get himself hurt, Jackson hit him and I'm assuming he cut him with his handy dandy paralization goo. So, Scott replaced him and now he's on the field.
My chest was burning from the amount of pain I've been in from watching Stiles get knocked to the ground so many times. He got back up, though. Each and every time. We were losing the game, and if someone didn't start scoring now- then it would all be over. I don't quite know what happened, but pretty much every player on our team got knocked over, and the ball seemed to have disappeared. I could hear the players yelling about how they couldn't find it. But then, Stiles started running towards the goal and everyone realized he had it. It was like a stampede going after him.
He stopped running a mere ten feet from the goal and just stood there looking around, unsure of what to do. The Coach was shouting at him to shoot it, his dad was shouting at him, but he still just stood there. I jumped up and screamed, "STILES SHOOT THE BALL!" And that seemed to click in his mind, because he flung his stick forward and the ball soared into the net.
Everyone in the bleachers jumped up and started to cheer, I couldn't stop myself from screaming and clapping in excitement. Stiles was cheering himself, and the rest of the team ran over to congratulate him on his goal. I couldn't stop smiling as I realized how amazing he must feel right now, I'm so proud of him.
As the game continued on, I realized that Scott wasn't on the field anymore- and Gerard wasn't standing off to the side of the field either. That can't be good, I want to go and find them, but I can't. I have to stay with my mom and Mr. Stilinski. I just hope Scott is okay. And I hope Isaac is okay too. He is obviously trying to help, and not kill us anymore. Which is good.
Stiles scooped up another ball off the ground and flawlessly made his way to the goal, launching the ball into the net. I once again jumped up and cheered loudly as I relished in the fact that my boyfriend was obviously the star player of this game. He has wanted this for so long, and now he finally has it. Even if it is happening at the worst possible time- he is getting to be the lead player of the lacrosse team.
Several minutes later, and Stiles had scored two more goals. I glanced at the scoreboard and realized that the clock was ticking down and it was in the last ten seconds of the game. My heart accelerated as I glanced around the field for Gerard, but he wasn't in sight. Neither was Scott, or Isaac. My eyes did pick up on Jackson though, his Kanima claws sticking out as he approached the mass of guys on the field. The referee blew the whistle and our team all piled together in a huge huddle. I tried to find Stiles in the clump of bodies, but I couldn't see him.
I couldn't stop myself as I stumbled down off the bleachers in a panic, I can't find him. Where did he go? He then appeared in front of the group of guys, and when he saw me he smiled proudly- and that's when the lights all went out. I'm clumsy enough as it is with the lights on, and now with it being pitch black and I can't see, I tripped and fell on to the field.
A scream sounded from around me, but I couldn't see where. Once the lights kicked back on, I watched as people ran around in a panic. Screaming and shoving each other. My eyes widened when I saw a body of a Beacon Hills Lacrosse player on the ground. Who is that? I can't see Stiles, anymore. I just saw him!
"Get back! Move! Move!" Coach shouted as he pushed through the large mass of people, Lydia was shouting Jackson's name as she ran over to the body. I pushed myself up off the ground and stumbled over to the team, to see Jackson laying on the ground. Oh thank god it's not Stiles.
"He's not breathing, and he doesn't have a pulse.." My mom muttered as she lifted up his jersey to reveal claw wounds on his stomach.
Scott and Isaac walked over to stand beside me, "He did it to himself, look." Isaac said as he pointed to Jackson's fingers, they were drenched in his blood. Why would he kill himself? Why would Gerard do that?
"Get down here and tilt up his head, now!" My mom snapped at Lydia, who was standing beside me crying her eyes out. She luckily did as my mom said and fell to her knees as she helped support Jackson's head.
I moved away from Jackson's body and started to search for Stiles, where did he go? Mr. Stilinski was doing the same, "Stiles? Where is my son? Where-where is my son? Stiles?! Where the hell is Stiles?!" He shouted as he looked around.
My heart stopped beating when I realized that he wasn't here, and that means that Gerard followed through on his threat. He took Stiles.

OMG. Stiles is going to get beat up, and I absolutely hate that. He doesn't deserve that, ugh. Anyway, hope you all enjoyed this chapter and now I can tell you about what happened to me today! So since I'm on the Yearbook commitee this year at school, I have to sell $200 worth of ad's right? So I went to this one place that bought an ad last year, my teacher specifically adivsed me to go this place, and they turned me down and I was sad about it. So while my dad talks to the lady about the ad, this forty year old hispanic guy approaches me, looks me up and down, licks his lips, and says something in Spanish that I don't understand- before walking away with his friends. I was mortified. It was so scary. Like, bro I'm only 17! Anyway, it was a mess. I had to go to another business but the manager wasn't in so I couldn't sell anything, and it was a sad day for selling ad's.
It has been a long day for me. Anywayyyy be sure to fan, vote and comment! I want to have season two finished by tonight, so maybe there will be another double upload today- idk, we'll see! xx
