"Hey, come here." Stiles grabbed Scott's shoulders at school the next day, Stiles' dad was here and they were talking to the principal. Stiles dragged Scott over to the stairs and we hid by the wall, I followed. "Come here, tell me what they are saying?"
Stiles and I wait. I gulped, this better be said something good. "Can you hear em?" I ask, and Scott shrugs me off.
"Shh!" Scott hushed. "Curfew because of the body," Scott turned to Stiles and I. Oh god, really?
"Unbelievable. My dad's out looking for a rabid animal while the jerkoff who actually killed the girl is just hanging out, doing whatever he wants." Stiles ranted, as Scott turns to us.
"You can't exactly tell your dad the truth about Derek." Scott pointed out, and I nodded.
"I can do something." Stiles urged.
"Like what?" I asked, what can really Stiles do?
Stiles looked at me. "Like find the other half of the body,"
Stiles then walked off. "Are you kidding?" Scott and I both spoke at the same time, oh we are so dead. I walked after Stiles, this is gonna be a long week.
✢
"No freaking way-"
"What did you find? Where did you find it? How did you find it?" Stiles bursts into Scott's room as Scott just told me that he found the body. "And yes, I had a lot of Adderall, so..."
He found the freaking other half of the body!
Scott looked up at Stiles from the bed, I too was sitting on Scott's bed. "I found something at Derek Hale's."
"Are you kidding? What?" Stiles freaked out.
"There's something buried there." Scott explained, Derek's soooo going down. "I could smell blood."
"That's awesome. I mean, that's terrible. Whose blood?" Stiles ranted again. Scott stands up, and I stand up beside Scott.
"I don't know. But when we do, your dad nails Derek for the murder and then you and Stace help me figure out how to play lacrosse without changing. Becuase there's no way I'm not playing that game."
And we left.
✢
Scott, Stiles, and I walk into the hospital later that evening. It grew dark, unfortunately. Stiles, Scott, and I stopped at were some signs were, the laboratory. That's where Scott needed to go for the dead body, to check if the scent is the same as the other half.
"Hey," Stiles nodded over at Scott, who nodded back.
"Okay," Scott saw the sign, and he walked off, leaving Stiles and I behind.
"Hey, look, there are some seats over there." I mumble to Stiles, I hope I don't bump into mum while she's here.
Stiles then stopped, and his eyes wander over to Lydia Martin herself, who was sitting in the chair. Probably waiting for Jackson. I bite my lip as he walked over to her, jealousy jumps through me and I walked the other way, sitting down in a chair where I can't see them.
Why does Stiles go after Lydia when she doesn't even notice him? It doesn't make sense. I really like Stiles, more than a friend, ever since the fifth grade actually.
"Hey," I was traced out of my thoughts and I turned my head to see Stiles, who sat beside me with a smile. I frowned. Wasn't he talking to Lydia?
"How'd talking to Lydia go?" I mutter, avoiding eye contact with him.
"I didn't, actually," Stiles cleared his throat. "I actually wanted to talk to you instead, Stace." Stiles smiled at me, which surprised me.
"Wow," I mumbled. "I- I mean, thank you?" Stiles chuckled, and we just both looked at each other for a minute.
"Stacey, there's actually something I've been meaning to tell you, uh-"
"The scent was the same." Someone cuts him off, my brother, actually, looking at us desperately.
"Holy, god!" I mutter in fright, he scared the shit out of me. Stiles and I both stand up. What was Stiles gonna tell me?
"You sure?"
"Yes." Scott nodded.
Stiles sighed. "So he did bury the other half of the body on his property," Stiles nodded.
"Which means we have proof that he killed the girl." I also add, and Scott looked at me, nodding.
"I say we use it." Stiles then turned, leaving the building.
"How?" Scott and I follow him. Stiles then turned to us.
"Tell me something first. Are you doing this because you want to stop Derek or because you want to play in the game and he said that you couldn't?" Stiles asked.
"There were bite marks on the legs, guys. Bite legs." Scott said.
"Okay, then we're gonna need a shovel." Stiles told us, my eyes widen. Why?
✢
In a few hours, I had figured out the reason why we needed shovels. Stiles had this crazy idea that we go under the buried body that Derek had buried. Wanna know where we are now?
At Derek's house, waiting for him to leave. No biggy. I hated this, I hated this so much. We are so gonna get caught.
Derek's pitch black car finally leaves, thank god. It felt like years. Stiles then drives his jeep as soon as Derek's car is out of sight, and we park outside his old burnt down house.
Stiles, Scott, and I climb out of the car. Scott holds a shovel, and I hold a flashlight. Stiles also has a shovel, they didn't get me one. We walk over to the large hole in the ground, it was dark and the only visible light is the moon until I turned on the flashlight.
"Wait, somethings different." Scott told us, as we walked over to the hole.
"Different how?" Stiles asked, following closely behind me.
"I don't know." Scott said. Well, that's helpful. "Let's just get this over with."
And they start digging.
✢
"Ah! This is taking forever!" I groan as I held the flashlight over the hole as the continue to dig.
"It would be helpful if you did something, Stacey," Scott muttered and I rolled my eyes. "But I agree, this is taking way too long."
"I am, I'm holding the flashlight- duh." I pointed out, waving the light over them. The hole gets deeper and deeper as they dig, I'm entirely bored.
"Just keep going." Stiles tried to encourage Scott.
"What if he comes back?" Scott asked.
"Then we get the hell out of here." Stiles said. It's not that simple.
"What if he catches us?" I interrupted, oh no, I'm so dead. I'm so not fit for this.
"I have a plan for that." Stiles said, throwing dirt onto the ground.
"Which is?" Scott asked for.
"You run one way, me and Stacey run the other way, whoever he catches, too bad." Stiles explained and I groaned.
"I hate that plan." Scott said.
"I too hate that plan." I said, waving my flashlight around again, I giggle. What? It's the only entertainment I have.
"All right, stop, stop, stop." Stiles told Scott as he had poked the ground with a shovel, something hard was there. Stiles dropped the shovel aside and I watch it fall to the ground.
Scott too dropped the shovel, and they went on their hands and knees and dug.
There were freaking knots.
"Hurry," Scott urged.
"I'm trying. Did he have to tie the thing in like 900 knots?" Stiles asked, frustrated.
"I'll do it." Scott said, and they started to untie the whole thing. What the hell is that thing?
After what seemed like a lifetime, they finally untied the thing and we found out what the hell it was. I screamed. It was a wolf. Stiles jumped out of the hole, so id Scott and I jumped back, falling onto my butt.
What the hell!
My mind was racing, oh hell no. This better be a prank. I quickly realised that this was indeed, not, a prank.
"Whoa!" We all screamed.
"What the hell is that?" I cry out, eyed widening in shock.
"It's a wolf." Scott said in realization, thanks, Scott.
"Yeah. We can see that." Stiles snapped. "I thought you said you smelled blood? As in human blood?"
Scott shakes his head. "I told you something was different."
"This doesn't make any sense." Stiles muttered.
"We gotta get out of here." I told them quickly, he could be back any minute.
"Yeah, okay, Scott help me cover this up." My eyes wander around, hoping Derek isn't back yet. My heart was pounding against my chest, you might be able to hear it.
That's when my eyes caught onto something purple- a purple flower. That kind of looks like... like wolfsbane. Oh no. Wolfsbane. Thank god I did my research.
I walk over there slowly, eyeing it. I then bend down and decided to let the guys know that this plant is here as well.
"Guys." I called.
"What's wrong?" Scott asked and Stiles' head snaps up, and his eyes widen looking at the flower.
"That flower." Stiles said and I nodded.
"What about it?" Scott asks, oh come on, Scott. You are so not prepared for this, Scott.
"I think it's wolfsbane," I told them, and Stiles agreed.
"What's that?" Scott asked. I groaned.
"Haven't you ever seen The Wolf Man?" Stiles asked Scott.
Scott shakes his head, looking at Stiles. "No."
"Lon Chaney Jr.?" I asked. "Claude Rains?" It was a no to either of them.
"The original classic werewolf movie?" Stiles asked.
"No, what?" Scott yelled.
"You are so unprepared for this." I sighed. Stiles got up and walked over to me, and he gently picks up the purple flower. That's not the only thing, there was rope attached to the flower.
Stiles unthreads the rope, and I stand up slowly. Stiles circles the rope around, and around, and around. Stiles had a big clumb of rope in his hands, which was odd.
Scott then jumped up, shocked. I look at the hole and I widen my eyes. "Stiles." Scott said, looking at it as well. That did not just happen.
"Oh!" Stiles jumped back slightly when he saw the girl, wasn't the girl just a wolf before? How is this even possible?
The creepy thing was, the girl was looking right at us, that got shivers down my spine.
