8. Sant

Mahamaya was feeling much better from there on. Life was going on as usual. Tara seemed scared of her. However, after some time, she once again softened and started spending more time with her.

She started spending more time in employing the prostitutes. Most of the prostitutes just wanted to remain as one. She respected their wishes and tried to give as many options to the others as she could. Things were going on well.

She was slowly gravitating women to the need of training to protect themselves. Now, that part however was not going well, or so she thought. However, seeing her train everyday made every man and woman astonished. She was too good at it. Her speed and flexibility made her training very interesting. Many women secretly watched her train everyday because they had nothing else to do.

One day, while Mahamaya walked to the nearby Sri Rama temple with her guards, she was surprised with seeing a crowd. She moved away from the crowd, walking to the temple instead. Bending down and touching the first step of the temple, she climbed the steps, ringing the big metal bell, pulling a pallu over her head.

The pandit smiled at her, joining his hand and greeting the woman, who was visiting the temple daily twice a day. She was doing her best to find the time to add the temple time in her daily schedule.

The only times she didn't do that was when she would be menstruating. That time was her break time, from chores, from everything. God himself had given her that break time off, she was not going to waste her break time working.

She did her worshipping, closing her eyes and praying, just standing there with a calm smile on her face. With her being this close, her natural smell making the pandit feel heady, he quickly moved away.

After she was done, however, he approached her and asked her, "Did you visit the Sant there, daughter Sumati?"

Mahamaya frowned and shook her head no, as she asked him, "No, I didn't know there was a Sant there. Did you talk to him? Is he good?"

The pandit shook his head as he said, "He would not speak at all. He kept saying that Sri Rama ordered him here to talk to Sumati. He's been here since the last two days.

Mahamaya's kohl filled lotus shaped eyes widened as she heard that. She had not been here since she was menstruating. She asked him, "Did he move from here since then?"

The pandit shook his head no, replying, "He wouldn't even move to get food or water. He wouldn't let women touch her, even if they brought him food or just wanted to touch his feet for blessings. It's difficult to protect his strict vows of celibacy with the crowd there. However, there seems to be a protective cover around him, not letting anybody enter his personal bubble.

"I've done my very best to get him something to eat and drink as I could. People around him call him Hanuman. I don't know what to think myself but he keeps saying that we are pronouncing his name wrong. He is a handful for sure."

Mahamaya was stunned. She simply nodded and completed her worshipping, before walking away, because she was feeling creeped out by everything. She shook her head.

It was a common knowledge that Hanuman was still alive. However, what was not common language was that that was not how his name pronounced. Common movies and shows have made the last n in his name more pronounced. However, it is a very soft n, always not there.

Was he really Hanuman? She looked at the crowd, wondering. Shaking her head, she was walking to her car quickly, when a figure appeared in front of her and said, "I was waiting for you for so long."

She gasped, looking at him in surprise, seeing a very old looking man. He had a very long beard and hair. His beard reached his stomach. However, he was not frail. He was a strong muscular man, but not muscular like the steroids pumped gym bros.

As she said something, he joined his hands, as he said, "I came to meet you. I know I am needed here, even if you think that I don't belong here." She frowned, sighing, as she realised that he was really him.

She nodded her head, understanding the gravity of the situation, as she said, "Okay, why do you think you were sent here?"

He answered, "Because nobody can escape your charm." He sighed, before he said, "It might not look like it but I am becoming old. My end is near."

She frowned, not liking what was being discussed. She did not want to think of a world without Hanuman. Hanuman said, "I came here to tell you, all you need to do is to go where you were born."

And just like that, he was gone, as Mahamaya was left staring at air.
