[This is Delilah's letter for Hogwarts]
Today seemed like every day, as nothing interesting happened at least to Delilah. She was antsy about going outside, but her parents locked her away from the world.
Since she was six, Delilah would practice her powers when everyone was asleep, as that was the only time of her life when she had time for herself. In her opinion, she's gotten better at controlling her powers and her outbursts. At least she's learning how to control it.
She doesn't have any freedom whatsoever, as she's banned from leaving. During the day her mother keeps a close eye on her, which is annoying as every time she turns her mother is there. It's a bit annoying she's not even allowed to go to Miss Figg's house, and that's right across the street. Harry gets to go there and she can't.
To say that life isn't fair is an understatement. They put bars on her windows so that she couldn't escape at night. But on the bright side of everything she could stick her hand outside, but that wouldn't last long either. Her mother would catch her rather quickly. She is basically trapped in her own home.
What broke her out of her thoughts was her brother Dudley throwing a tantrum because Harry took away his food, as he wasn't finished. But in Harry's defense Dudley wasn't touching his food and had set a trap for Harry so that he can get into trouble.
"Mommy! Harry took my food!" Dudley yelled from the kitchen as Delilah sighed before getting off her bed and walked out of her bedroom door to go see what all the fuss is about.
"Give Dudley back his food, boy! He's a growing boy." Vernon says to Harry, as he was just about to scoop it off the plate, he sighed before walking back to his fat cousin.
When Delilah opened the door to the kitchen and then she closed it slightly. Harry gave her a side eyed look as they have their own secret language just by their facial expressions. Delilah tried not to laugh or giggle, so she just smiled.
Harry fixed his older cousin a plate of food, which was sausage patties, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs and bacon and some orange juice. Delilah gave Harry a smile as a thanks, before she sat in her usual seat and started eating her food.
After Dudley whoofed his food down, he demanded more. Delilah stayed out of the conversation only speaking if necessary, which outside of Harry was no one; to be expected. Delilah was often times invisible now, when everyone knows about her abilities. She is merely a ghost seeking attention, but whenever she tries to get attention she gets punished.
So she doesn't even try anymore, she's used to the pain that her father would inflict on her and all the beatings that her body just got used to it and so she stopped trying.
Outside of Harry, she's never felt love and affection, but she's afraid that if that happens that she will get hurt again.
Later
After breakfast, Delilah basically ignored everything around her and drew in her journal for the rest of the day. She just wants to leave here, and never come back. She just didn't know that her wish is going to be coming true in a couple hours.
She was in her own little world without a care in the world around her. What else is she going to do in her life anyway. She hasn't been in school since she was six years old as she's been locked away from the world.
No one has taught her anything as she taught Harry for a while, but only of what she knew, until her parents enrolled him in school.
What broke her out of her thoughts was a knock on her door. She nearly jumped, as she sighed before getting up as it was Harry. If it was anyone else they would have barged into her room. She opened her door.
Harry walked into her room with a cake in a mug and a couple of homemade birthday presents. Her birthday is today but as of today no one cared, besides Harry.
"What's this?" Delilah asked as Harry gave ber a small smile.
"Your cake and presents." He says to her before he sat her presents on her bed.
"Thank you." She says to Harry as he nods his head.
"I'm the only one who actually cares it's your birthday, and the cake in the mug is your favorite. I put extra sprinkles in it, for you." Harry says with a small smile as there was a fork in the mug.
"Figured I'd do this when its almost midnight." He adds as he hugs his cousin as she hugs him back.
"This is why I love you." Delilah says as she opened the present that Harry had gotten her. It wad wrapped in old newspapers that Vernon had kept.
"I'm flattered." Harry jokingly says which made Delilah chuckle a little.
"I love you, Harry." She says to him not knowing it would be the last words that she'd say to him.
After Delilah had finished her cake in a mug, Harry went downstairs to do the little dishes as quiet as possible so he wouldn't wake his aunt, uncle and cousin. Just after he qent to his cupboard for bed, there was a knock on the door.
Who could be awake at this hour?
Before Harry had the chance of opening the door, a stomping Vernon walked downstairs, clearly angry that someone had the audacity of waking him up.
When he opened the door there was a woman in a green cloak with a matching green witch hat. "Hello, sir."
To sat Vernon thought this was a prank or some sick joke, was an understatement. Especially given the fact what she is wearing. Also because of how late at night it is.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Vernon said after a long yawn followed after he finished asking.
"My name is Minerva McGonagall, and I am here looking for a girl by the name of Delilah Dursley?" Minerva announced as Vernon looked around to pretend looking for his daughter.
"That's me. I'm Delilah." His daughter said which made him do a 180 turn and sees his daughter by the staircase.
"I am here to bring you with me. By orders of Albus Dumbledore." Minerva sayd as Delilah has a weird look on her face.
"Excuse me, Miss. Who?" Delilah says to the older woman, which Minerva made a mental note that she doesn't know who he is. She is surprised as most Muggles (non magic folk) don't know anything of the wizarding world.
"Only the greatest wizard known to man, that ever lived." Minerva says as Vernon looks between his daughter and Minerva.
This is a joke right?
"She will not he going, learning magic tricks from an old bafoon." Vernon snapped at the older woman clearly insulting Albus. Her dear friend.
Minerva quickly whipped her wand from hee cloak so fast that no one saw it coming, not even Vernon. "Never insult Albus Dumbledore in front of me, again." Minerva threatened to Vernon which made him take a couple steps back.
Instantly Minerva changed her tone when she looked af Delilah. She walked towards the now eleven year old, who turned said age not too long ago. She stopped right in front of the girl who didn't move an inch from the last step on the staircase where she had been standing.
"Have you ever done anything you can't explain how it happened and or where it came from?" Minerva asked the girl who nodded her head. "What was it?" Minerva asked in a kind voice.
"When she gets mad and or angry her eyes turn red." A voice said as Minerva turned to the ten year old cousin of Delilah.
Minerva looked at the ten year old, who also looked at the older witch. "When did this happen?"
"It has happened for as long I can remember. I thought I was bloody crazy." Delilah says to Minerva as the older woman looked back at the girl.
She had a small smile curving at her lips, which made the girl even more confused. "That means you are a witch. You have a gift, that not a lot of people have."
Granted, yes those words make sense, but in Delilah's mind it is like Minerva is speaking a language that she thinks is gibberish. The girl's eyes widen just a little as her mind starts racing.
"I-I do?" The girl asked as Minerva smiled a bit more with a curt nod. She reached again into her cloak, not to get her wand, but a piece of envelope.
"I didn't want the Ministry of Magic to mail you, incase something were to happen to it." She said as she turned to Vernon as she gave him a look. She then looked back at Delilah who was looking at the envelope skepitically like it was going to jump at her.
"What is it?" Delilah asked the woman who handed the letter to the girl who read the front of it.
Miss D. Dursley
Small bedroom upstairs
4 Privet Drive
Surrey
To say Delilah thought it was a joke, like her father thought Minerva McGonagall was a sick jone after Midnight is an understatement. After Delilah had opened the envelope she saw what looks like a piece of parchment paper, she pulls out the letter and read (the letter is at the top).
When Delilah waa done reading the letter, as she was starting to realize that this wasn't a joke. It was real.
A little too real.
Minerva gave the girl a soft look, and a soft smile, as he put her hand onto the girl's shoulder. "Why don't you go back, mhm." Just after Minerva had said that, this happened.
"She will not be going!" Vernon exclaimed to Minerva who turned towards Vernon and gave him an angry look.
Minerva had her wand out faster than Delilah had seen. "Stupefy!" Minerva exclaimed as Vernon fell down to the floor, as neither Harry or Delilah seemed to care that Vernon had fell unconscious.
Delilah stood shook at what happened that she didn't go pack like Minerva had told her to do. Minerva turned to the girl who had her jaw dropped when her father fell down.
Minerva bad gently turned the girl around which made Delilah shake her head a little, as she was still shocked what happened. "Come, my dear." Minerva says to the girl who almost tripped, up the stairs as she was walking up tue stairs heading to her room.
After packing what Delilah had and Minerva using a spell to make room for basically all of the stuff that Delilah wanted to bring to Hogwarts. They walked downstairs as Delilah was now going to start her new journey to Hogwarts.
"I will miss you, Deli." Harry says to his cousin as Vernon had woken up from being unconscious, and stunned by Minerva.
"I will miss you too." She says giving Harry a big hug knowing that this is the second time they are being separated. The first time was when Harry was in school, but this is clearly more important.
Minerva walked behind Delilah and when Minerva got onto the last step there was Vernon. She turned towards him and got into his face.
"If that girl writes, to Harry, have him read and keep the letters or so help me. I will personally come here and take that boy away from you, and bring him to Hogwarts." Minerva threatened as Vernon nods his head faster than he ever did in his life. "Do you understand?" She asked sternly to Delilah's father. After he didn't respond and or nod his head, Minerva pushed the father against the wall. "I said, do you understand?" She asked mote stern this time. This time Vernon rapidly nodded his head at the woman.
"Yes, ma'am." He repliexld as after that Minerva let him go and he hurriedly went upstairs, not saying goodbye to his daughter and or even acknowledgingher, which is she isn't surprised about. He doesn't even acknowledge her in the first place, unless he wants to talk to her.
Even that is slim to none.
After Delilah and Harry practically clung onto each other, and said their goodbyes. Which made both of them cry, as Delilah wouldn't be here to protect Harry from her brother and or his friends. Or her parents.
They also don't know when they will see each other again, so they hug each other one last time.
Minerva put a hand onto the girl's shoulder which meant it was time to go, and leave Harry. She hesitantly let go of her cousin, who also didn't want to let her go either.
After giving each other one last final glance, Minerva and Delilah disappeared and apparated to Hogwarts.
Delilah's life was going to change the next morning, and she isn't sure about it!
