Chapter One
My name is Isabela Prior.
I have long slighty wavy brown hair that touches the tip of my thighs, blue green eyes, and olive skin tone. I am eighteen years old and 5'7 1/2".
I don't really look like my family, I'm quite different than them, too.
My dad works next to our leader, Marcus. Dad has light brown hair with a few grey hairs, milk chocolate eyes, and fair skin.
My mom is a kind woman who loves almost every one, but can be a bitch when needed. She has dark brown hair that goes to the middle of her upper back, hazel eyes, and lightly tanned skin.
Then there's my older brother, Caleb, who's a natural at what we stand for. Abnegation, which practices selflessness, and we are against vanity. Caleb is very smart and sweet. He has my mother's dark hair, my father's eyes, and fair skin.
And then there's my twin sister, Beatrice. She is a bit delicate but sweet most of the time. Beatrice was the beauty of the family, no one said it, but it was more than obvious. Almost all of the boys here loved her. It's not hard to see why.
She has honey eyes, lightly tanned skin, naturally straight gold and brown highlighted hair, and a perfect body. Also, a sweet voice that everyone loves and an angelic demeanor.
Then there's me.
I'm a daredevil.
I jump over the rooftops in our Faction, I get in fights (verbal and physical), defend my people and the Factionless, and I do help the Factionless, give them food that I make, also I give them entertainment.
I can do gymnastics, which is something that people have lost love for. But, by looking at me, you couldn't tell that I'm a gymnast. I have a normal body, maybe a bit thinner than normal, but that's because of gymnastics.
But, I have a nice side too. Most of the time, I show it to the people I love. I act like the older sister to Caleb and Beatrice when needed. I defend my family when I want to. I even nicely reject guys for Beatrice! I'm the older twin out of Beatrice and me.
Today, Caleb, Beatrice, and I were going to be tested to see which Faction we should go into.
Mom cut my hair a little so it now was at the middle of my back, brushed it, and put it in braided bun that rested on the nape of my neck and my long bangs that was a bit longer than my ears that usually rested on the right side of my face were pinned back. (A/N Like Elsa's coronation hair do minus the ribbon and the white hair)
Then, she put Beatrice's gold hair that had brown highlights in it in an elegant bun that sat on the back of her head.
Mom pressed the buttons that let us look at ourselves in a mirror, but only for five minutes.
Rules are rules, I guess.
Beatrice and I wore grey dresses.
Except that my dress had a V-neckline so I had to wear a black tank top, my sleeves went to my elbows, and my dress had splits on the sides that went to the middle of my thighs, so I wore grey tights and black boots that went to the middle of my shins.
"Are you scared, Beatrice?" Mom asked.
Beatrice has been the little sister that always get the attention, but I don't mind.
Gets the spotlight off of me, doesn't it?
She shook her head.
"What about you, Isabela?" Mom asked me.
"Nope." I said, popping the 'p'.
But, in truth I was.
"Were you, Mom?" I asked.
"No. I was terrified. But, you two aren't me."
She closed the mirror and we left.
Caleb's brown hair was nicely combed back. He was really handsome. He always had girls fawning over him.
We went to the testing building. All the Factions were there, except for Dauntless. I always pretending to be a Dauntless, they always seemed so brave and strong.
Then, they came. They jumped off the train and ran to their place.
We all went in. I hugged my brother and sister. Then I braced myself.
Yeah, I was scared and worried about my family and being separated from them, but I was more scared of staying where I am and being known from where I was born and raised. An Abnegate. A Stiff.
I am more than where I come from, I know it.
And I want other people to know that, too.
