The Timeskip
Jaxon ran next to Toby on the treadmills, as scientists for the project tested their vitals. His mouth quirked up into a half-smile, as he looked over at his friend, who was panting as the treadmill sped up.
"Are you struggling there, Toby?" he asked, keeping a steady pace on the treadmill with ease. Toby shook his head.
"No, I'm fine," he huffed. He looked up at Jaxon with an attempted grin, as sweat beaded on his forehead. "You're the one who's looking pale. Not feeling as good as you seem?" Jaxon held back a chuckle, and shook his head.
When the two boys were done with their physical session, they headed out of the gym. Leonard, Westley, and Jonathan, who had also been forced to exercise. The project was already started to benefit them. Jonathan had discovered that his eyesight was worse than the last time he had gone to the eye doctor, and now had new glasses.
The group wasn't surprised to be together. As it turned out, they tended to stay with their table groups during the experiment's activities.
They passed by the next group to enter, which was led by Arcadia. As Jaxon passed by, he almost bumped into Kat. They continued out the door, when Jaxon was hit with a sneezing fit. Toby stopped to wait for him, and took the time to guzzle an entire bottle of water. When he was done, the group continued onto their next activity — problem solving in the library.
Kat shook her head, and caught up with the rest of her group. "Even here, the clumsy nerd group exists. How cliche," she muttered, slightly irritated at Jaxon. She had been more irritated as of lately.
Arcadia nodded, one hand pressed to her temple. "Tell me about it. They're loud, too. It's giving me a headache"
Meanwhile, Tiger's group was going off on a wilderness adventure. As expected, they were enjoying the activity. They were taken on a hike through the forest in the compound, and got to see practically everything out there. Most of the groups knew it like the back of their hand, as long as they paid attention.
Chaz, of course, was leading the expedition. Like always, most of Tiger's group made snide remarks towards him. They didn't like his cheeriness.
Tiger and Maya walked next to each other, trading comments about Chaz back and forth. Maya suddenly shuddered, feeling cold. Without saying a word, Tiger handed her his jacket. They kept walking.
Kamari was busy throwing pebbles at Nathan's head, which he didn't seem to notice. Jared stood next to her. He ran his fingers through his hair, which was always sticking straight up, and snorted.
"He really does have a thick skull, doesn't he?" the man asked. Kamari snickered, and continued trying to get Nathan's attention.
Finally, Cimber's group had a session of archery practice. They had been surprised at the addition of the activity, but the scientists explained that it was for hand-eye coordination. Some of the participants, like Tiger, were just happy to handle weapons.
Some members of the group had an easier time than others. Camber, for example, seemed to have an abundance of energy that she hadn't had at the beginning of the program. However, Skylar seemed to be plagued by constant insomnia.
Camber lined up a shot, and Cimber raised his hand, looking at the scientists. "Hey! What benefits would I get if I stood in front of the target while Cimber shot? She's that good, I'm telling you!" he shouted proudly.
Emily let out a tsk, and shook her head. "Just get back to shooting, Cimber. Don't be a moron," she told him, disapprovingly. He did as told, but only when Camber agreed.
Alright, you guys know the drill. You each have your assigned chains (groups are the same as last chapter). Any questions, PM me. I may PM some of you about info just for your character.
