-Chapter Four-
Out of Town

-Varian Blackthorn-
-Three Years Later-

You know your aunt- or should I say half-aunt- is secretly helping you out when your Redcloak uncles appear right outside your door, striking a debate with your mom to go on a vacation to Eura.

"No!"

"Yes!"

"Miko, I said no!"

"But why not?"

"'Cause I don't want to!"

The Blackthorn siblings went back and forth while Rob, Ella's brother and our.. half-uncle I suppose, just stood there awkwardly as they kept on trading 'yeses' and 'nos'.

"But the kids want to," Miko shot us a grin, "Isn't that right?"

"Yeah, I've always wondered what beauty Eura holds!" Autumn nodded eagerly.

"I wanna see the queen!" I added, oh-so-helpfully. Autumn nudged me, "And everything else that makes Eura so cool. Besides the weather."

"Besides, sis, isn't it time that your kids got out of this town that they've been stuck in since birth?" Miko tried to reason.

"We were actually born in the Place of Desolation," I nodded in agreement with Autumn's comment as Mom shot both of us a look.

We never talk about why the heck we were born there. It took awhile for mom to finally open up as to why we were born there in the first place and that sure as heck was one embarrassing story.

"Wait-" Miko exclaimed, probably wondering why he hadn't been informed of this, "You were-"

"Back to the point," Rob finally interrupted, "We've already bought three tickets for you guys. It was a good offer too."

"Well we didn't ask for them," Mom pointed out.

"Sis, you can't turn away gifts," Miko argued, "It's our birthday gift for the twins for turning 15!"

"He kinda has a point, mom," I said, giving her my best, 'good-boy' smile.

I only got a flat look in return, "That won't work on me."

"Please mom?" Autumn then activated her cute-seal pup eyes and I followed suit. It's something we mastered, perhaps inherited from someone we don't know.

Our mom's glare cracked, "Oh not the- ugh fine!"

Autumn and I exchanged a triumphant grin as Miko clasped his hands, "Great! Start packing then! The ship leaves in 10 minutes!"

All eyes turned to him. He didn't appear to be joking.

5 minutes after complete chaos-

"Do you really need this notebook, Autumn?"

"Uh, yeah! For my poems?"

-where we'd (literally) thrown in whatever clothes-

"Varian, stop throwing your clothes at me!"

"It's not my fault you were in the way!"

-and things we could supposedly fit in our bags-

"Should I bring a swim suit or..?"

"A swimsuit? In Eura?"

"...yeah?"

-we were now rushing out the house, meeting Ella along the way out.

"You guys in a hurry somewhere?" Ella asked, looking slightly amused.

"You don't so happen to know anything about Miko and Rob buying tickets to Eura for us, do you?" Mom asked her, eyes dangerously narrowed with suspicion.

"Nope," Ella said that, a little rushed as she began inching away, "I gotta go now. Greencloaks duties. Have fun! See you soon!"

-Ashley Blackthorne-

The Thornes (plus Rob) finally arrived at Eura somewhere around midnight, having to travel for another hour to the city where they'd stay at an inn. As the twins slept, the Thorne siblings were still quite wide awake in another room.

"Still awake, sis?" Miko asked, joining Ash at the window.

"Ella had something to do with this, didn't she?" Ash said, crossing her arms.

"Okay, you got us," Miko said, raising his hands in defense, "Don't kill her though. Even if she did, the whole vacation was entirely our idea. Rob and I were assigned a mission here anyway-"

"And you thought it was a good idea to bring us along so we could 'accidentally' bump into him?" Ash exclaimed, cutting him off.

"We don't KNOW if he's going to be here," Miko groaned before he softened his tone, face growing serious, "But don't you think the kids have the right to know?"

Ash let out a frustrated groan, beginning to walk towards the door, "Miko! I said I'd tell them at the right time."

"And when will that be?" Miko fired as he followed her out the room, "Tomorrow? Next year? Next DECADE? Ash, it's been long... enough..?" Miko's voice trailed off as Ash opened the door to the twin's room...

...only to find empty beds and an open window.

-Varian Blackthorne-

"Stalking our emo uncle to see where he's going? Great idea, sis."

"In the middle of the night without mom's permission? Totally."

We both exchanged a look before our pokerface cracked into a grin full of mischief. Just meters ahead of us was Ella's brother, Rob, most probably oblivious to our amazing stalking.

"What's up with the redcloak hood attire?" I asked my twin sister very quietly, "He going to some secret Halloween party or something?"

"Maybe he's part of a cult," Autumn pondered.

I gave her a look, "Seriously?"

"I mean, think about it." I couldn't find myself to disagree now that I've thought about it.

Rob suddenly stopped, causing us to duck down behind a tiny crate, forcing us to an uncomfortable spot. It was a tiny crate!

"Can you scooch?" I muttered, "He might see my butt!"

"I've literally got no space left," Autumn hissed back, "Besides, you've got a small butt anyway."

That did it, "Excuse me?"

"Ey now, no need to get all butt hurt."

"I'll show you who's bu-"

"Wait!" Autumn stood up, looking over the crate, "He's gone!"

"What do you mean?" I said, standing up as well. And what do ya know? Our redcloaked uncle is gone!

Autumn groaned, turning around to face me, "Great! Now what?"

"Well I'm not too fond about going back-" I started saying when I saw my sister's eyes grow wider.

Before I knew it, she'd tackled me down, and I hit the ground hard. At the same time, a dark figure landed right where we once stood a moment ago.

"What the Haliwir-" I gasped, struggling to stand. Autumn was quicker, grabbing the nearest thing she could find. "A broom? Really?"

"You got a better weapon, smallass?" Autumn shot back, but there was genuine fear in her eyes. And a scared Autumn didn't really help calm my nerves.

The black-hooded figure in front of us suddenly pulled out two wicked-sharp blades from his back, wielding them dangerously. And unless the broom could fly, we were doomed for.

But before the hooded figure could take a step closer, another hooded figure landed right in front of us, standing firmly in between.

The man, too, wore a redcloak just like Rob's.

Eyo! Ya'll probably forgot about this story but here's an update anyway!

I kinda want to finish this story (no matter how long it'll take) because I've already started it

But I see it kinda pointless if no one here wants to read it and idk where else to post these chapters if I do plan on continuing it so..

Do you guys want me to continue this or just leave it be?
