How Lukari Was Created
It began when I was on Tumblr, back around the summer of 2018.
I was looking through artworks and trying to get an idea of what I should draw until I eventually happened to come across a cute pic of someone's OC.
The person's name was Dewwydartz. And he's the creator of his pokémon OC, May the Lucario.
Seeing what his artwork looked like, I was inspired by them and saved plenty of the pictures to my device so I could practice drawing the way Dewwydartz did it, and improve my drawing skills for the near future.
My inspiration grew quickly and I decided to make an OC that's in the same universe as Dewwydartz but only making my character very different.
The first thing I did when I created Lukari to base her off of my inspiration towards May the Lucario, was changing her looks.
I noticed Dart's OC was thicc, so I made Lukari not-thicc and delicate.
The only things I didn't change was Lukari's bangs and her fluffy tail.
I also decided to give her really long hair, a kimono, a bracelet, and a ribbon.
The ribbon idea I got was from the character, Sailor Venus, in the Sailor Moon anime.
I figured if my OC was gonna be a shiny Lucario, then, why not give her a ribbon to make her look very cute and pretty?
I changed the ribbon to a pinkish-purple color to make it "stand out" instead of "blending in" with Lukari's eye color.
The kimono and the long hair idea I got was from the anime, "Inuyasha".
I made Lukari a priestess because how religious she is towards Arceus along with how she wanted to help those in need of support.
Even when someone couldn't be healed physically, Lukari would be able to heal and save them, spiritually.
That's when her becoming of a priestess and the kimono idea, comes in the picture.
I figured long hair would look good on her too. And because I made her a priestess, I putted the kimono on her as the proper Japanese attire for a priestess.
Including to make things interesting and historical.
The priestess kimono idea, from the Inuyasha anime, was from a character named Kikyo.
I figured the kimono would suit Lukari very well because when I gave her modern day clothes, it didn't even look good on her at all.
The bracelet idea came from a character named Chip, who's a Light Gaia, and is from the Sonic Unleashed game.
I knew it'd be a perfect accessory for Lukari because...well...it's something she'd like to wear occasionally. Just like her kimono and the ribbon-in-hair idea.
It'd also be something very important to her however.
The reason why I say that is because it's not only something that's been passed down to her from her mother and her ancestors but to it's also to keep her parents' memory alive.
