Location: Team 5's room.

(Y/n)'s POV:

It's weekend and it's great! Well... it should be but... today I got an 'appointment' with the family after Ruby insisted me to meet them. I don't know if I have the strength to forgive the rest. They carved a permenant scar in my heart. Erik and Clay went for a routine patrol. I decided to bring James with me to Patch. I contacted Erik telling that we are leaving.

Comms: (Y/n): "Delta 4, This is Delta 5. Come in."

Comms: Erik: "This is Delta 4. What's the big deal?"

Comms: (Y/n): "Me and James are leaving to Patch now and expected to come back maybe before 1900 hours."

Comms: Erik: "Allright. Be safe, kid. Delta 4 out."

With that, I told James to gear up. We wore our full loadout, just incase if there's any bad things happened. Always be prepared for any circumstances. We make our way to the landing pad where Ruby was waiting for us.

Location: Landing pad.

Ruby: "I told you to stop smoking!"

(Y/n): "Sorry... But I'm getting used to it." I said as I lighten up my cigarette.

James: "Mind if I have one?"

Ruby: "What?! You smoke too?!" James just shrugged and nodded. I gave him a cigarette and lighten it up for him. We were currently waiting for our bullhead to arrive. Then, Ruby tapped my shoulder and I turned my attention to her.

(Y/n): "Yes?"

Ruby: "How you become a SEAL?"

(Y/n): "Well, it all starts after I left. I lived in the forest for 2 weeks, gathering some resources in the woods and survived with it. But one day, my shelter was attacked by a couple of Beowolves. I can't hold both of it and got injured by their attacks. Then, a group of operators came out of nowhere and saved my life. They took me in their care and sent me for the SEAL training program. After graduated from it, they took me into their team. Tenzou, Danny, Izmash and Erik. They trained me well amd I managed to unlock my semblances, thanks to them. But, 3 of them are now gone..." I told her when I looked down, almost releasing a single tear.

Ruby: "W-What happened to them?" I clenched my fist in anger.

(Y/n): "They... were killed by the White Fangs." I heard a gasps and I knew that it was from her.

Ruby: "Oh oum... (Y/n), I'm sorry to hear that.."

(Y/n): "Don't worry. It's not your fault." She put her hand on my shoulder. Then, we heard the sound of the bullhead's engine as its approached the landing pad.

Jame: "Well, that's our vehicle."

Ruby: "Yep! Let's go!" She said as she ran to the bullhead.

James: "Is she always like this?" He whispered to me.

(Y/n): ".....Yes." He chuckled and we walked to the bullhead and boarded it. The bullhead then took off and make it way to the Patch.

(Y/n)'s POV:

We were making our way to what do I called the place during my past life as HELL. Just the sound of the forest and birds chirped until Ruby breaks the silence between us.

Ruby: "We are here." I looked in front and saw, the house. Instantly, my mind began to flashback the painful memories. I shook my head, tried to get rid the memories when Ruby put her hand on my shoulder to calm me.

James: "That's a lovely house you have there..."

Ruby: "Yep! Plus the scenery adds more beauty! Come on! The food is waiting!" She said and grabbed my hand and we started to walk to the house. If it's not because of food, then I wouldn't get my feet into that house.

The front door was in front of us and Ruby, before she knocked it, she looked at me with a worried expression. I just smiled and nodded telling her to knock it which she hesitated.

"Just a second!" Said a muffled voice. The door opened, revealling Tai.....

Tai: "Oh sweetheart and son! Who is that guy?" I looked at his with annoyance. He looked a bit shocked when he saw us with our full loadout.

(Y/n): "Don't call me son and this is James, my teammate. And James, this is Tai." I said in cold tone and his expression turned from happy to sad.

James: "Corporal James. It's pleasure to meet you, sir."

Tai: "It's pleasure to meet you too.... Come in." He said as he moved aside to let us in. First thing that I saw was the living room, where my first beating session began.

Tai told us to go to the kitchen where the food had been served. Yang saw us and greeted us with a wide smile.

Yang: "Oh hey guys!" And I just gave her a cold stare. Like Tai, her expression turned into sad. We took our seats and there was a moment of silences surrounded us until Ruby decided to break it.

Ruby: "So! What did you cook for today, Yang?"

Yang: "O-Oh... ummm.. I've made spaghetti with meat sauce! And you gonna love it!"

Ruby: "Oh that's great!"

(Y/n): "Cut it off." They looked at me with a great shocked expression, even James too. "Just go straight to the point. What do you want from me?"

Tai: "Y-You know, (Y/n)... the reason that we invited you here, because we want to apo-"

(Y/n): "Apologize from what you have done to me?" And he nodded reluctantly without saying any words. "You know, how does it feels when someone leave you a permenant scar deep in your heart? You know how it feels to be ignored for years? Do you ever know how I feel? No. But instead, you gave me the worst." He looked down, as well as Yang because they knew what they have done to me.

(Y/n): "Annnnnnd.. where is Summer? Didn't she miss this piece of shit?" As I said that, Ruby and Yang began to tear up and I was confused with this. "What is going on?" I asked and Tai decided to tell about it.

Tai: "(Y/n)... Summer... she, she is-"

Ruby: "She is gone...." From all the sudden, she told about it. My eyes went wide as I heard this. I knew that Summer also gave me a hell but this is something that I didn't expected.

(Y/n): "W-What.... h-how?" I asked as I began to tear a bit.

Yang: "She... went missing when she went out to look for you. When you ran from here, she took a lot from that. After dad came back without any results after looking for you, she still believe that you are still alive out there somewhere. So she went to look for you, and bring you home.... And.. after that, she was declared, dead." Yang explained as she began to cry.

Deep inside my thought, I was thinking, why she still looking for me eventhough she abused me? Why she still care about me? Then, I've realized that, I still have a spot in her heart. She doesn't gave up to look for me and its cost her own life.... I felt something wet flown down on my cheeks. And I decided to go out from the house.

(Y/n): "I-I'm sorry....." I stood up and ran to the door.

Tai: "(Y/n), wait!" As he said that, I got out from the house and started to ran randomly.

Ruby's POV:

I watched my brother as he left the house, crying. Then, I decided that I want to look for him.

Ruby: "Dad. I'm going for him..."

Tai: "Be safe, Ruby...."

Ruby: "I will." I grabbed (Y/n)'s plate filled with spaghetti and went out to look for him.

James's POV:

Okay. I knew that (Y/n) was the family's adopted son but I didn't expected that he was abused. Allthough he was abused from his child life, I can't get angry at them. The family tried so hard to ask an apolagize from him. I watched as (Y/n) left the house and soon followed by Ruby. And the silence filled the kitchen as we sat there without saying any words.

Tai: "I... I hope that he will forgive Summer for what she had done..." He said with his sad tone.

James: "I'm sure he will, sir. (Y/n) still have a soft spot in his heart."

Yang: "But.. what if he doesn't?" She asked, worried if (Y/n) did not forgive the fallen one.

James: "Umm, Yang, wasn't? I'm sure 100% that he will forgive her. He is a soldier, but not a machine. Even if he did not forgive her now, eventually, he will. Only time is the question." I said and smiled as I tried to make them calm. And I swear that I saw her smiled even her tears still flown. "Anyway, can I eat? I didn't got the chance to have my breakfast tho...."

Tai: "Yes. You may."

James: "Thank you." I said to him and I started to eat.

(Y/n)'s POV:

I don't know where am I. I just ran randomly, until I found a tombstone. "Who the heck put a tombstone near the edge of the cliff?" I muttered as I approached and I was shocked when I saw her name on it.

Summer Rose.

A lover, and a mother of 3 children.

"The light breaks through the clouds, and a Rose beyond the world, glimmers."

(Y/n)'s thought: "Wait, 3 childer?! So that's mean...." As I think about it, I cried. I approached the tombstone and kneeled in front of it.

(Y/n): "After all what you did before, I was left broken alone. All I know was pain and loneliness. Not even a light shines through it. But from all of this, after I went missing, you don't gave up on finding me. And I realized that, you still care about me." I paused a bit to wipe my tears off and then continued. "I am now happy with my new life, as a SEAL operator, the dream that I've managed to make it come true. I guess, it's the right time now... You gave me the pain and scars, yet you replaced it with a new light that erase my pain and scars. Summer Rose, I forgive you... mom..." As I said the last part, a gentle wind blewed, carrying the rose petals. Another weight left my body. "Till Valhala, mom..." I closed my eyes and took a moment to mourn.

???: "Took me a while to find you, bro." My moment was interrupted by a person. I looked over my right shoulder and it was Ruby.

Ruby: "Did.. I interrupt you?" She asked.

(Y/n): "Not at all, Ruby..." I sat in front of the tombstone and I gestured Ruby to sit besides me in which she does it.

Ruby: "Here.."She handed me a plate of spaghetti. "You must be hungry, so I decided to bring this." I smiled and took it. I took a bite and savoured the taste of the spaghetti. Hate to say it but, Yang's cooking was good. We just sat there with a comfortable silence surrounded us.

(Y/n): "It's a quite beautiful view eventhough it's afternoon..." I said to break the silence.

Ruby: "Yeah... Sometimes I loved to spend my times at here..." I just nodded and continued to eat. "So... you've.. forgive her?"

(Y/n): "Yes. It's about the time to forget the past and accept it." Ruby smiled and a single tear flown.

Ruby: "Thank you....." I simply smiled. Soon enough, I've finished my meal and took out a cigarette and light it up.

(Y/n): "I think I should go now.... Have some works to do back at Beacon."

Ruby: "Allright. Want me to walk you to the pad?" She asked.

(Y/n): "Nahh don't worry. Tell James to make his way to the pad. I'll be waiting for him at there."

Ruby: "Ookay. Take care!" She said as she hugged me. "I'll see you at Beacon."

(Y/n): "Allright. Be safe little sis." After that, we walked into our seperate ways. Then, I stopped and turned around and called her name. "Ruby!" She turned around. "Tell to them, thanks for today and for the meals!" She gave me a thumbs up and smiled before she walked away.

James's POV

It was time for routine patrol around the Vale. (Y/n) and I decided to stop by at the cafe for some coffees. We went to the counter to order our favourite coffee. I ordered Caramel Latte while (Y/n) with his (F/coffee). We decided to sit at there before we continued our patrol.

James: "Hey boss." He looked at me. "Is that true that, you're an adopted?"

(Y/n): "Yes, I am. In fact, I didn't know my actual father and mother."

James: "I see... mind if, you tell me a bit of your stories?" He nodded and I am suprised that he doesnt show any expression when I asked about his childhood time.

(Y/n): "Usually, an adopted kid will have a better life. But mine is different. During my time as an adopted kid, only pain and darkness is my best friend. They doesn't see me as their kid, but as their punching bag, their stress and anger relieves and related with it. Ruby Rose, before this she always cared about me until she changed. The only person who I considered as my family is Qrow and Raven. They secretly trained me and treated my wounds. Qrow also gave me a book that inspired me to become what I am today. As it for now, I forgave Ruby because.... I saw the person before she was changed.." He said calmly. I was amazed on how he can keep his calm.

James: "I wish that I got to go through that..."

(Y/n): "Believe me, you don't want to."

James: "You know, before this, I was a spoil kid. Born in a rich family. Anything that I want, I will get it in the blink of an eye. I lived happily with my family until... *close the eyes* my family was painted by the White Fang. We can't moved around safely. And one day, my family was killed by them when I was outside from my house. After that, rage and anger grows strong inside me. I joined the Special Force to take my revenge, and to prevent the same situation from haunting the people of Remnant." I told to him as I'm at the edge of crying. He put his hand on my shoulder to calm me down.

(Y/n): "I'm sorry to hear that. But still, you get the chance to live with your actual family. That is why you enlist in the Special Force, to protect the people of Remnant and defend the Constitution from its enemy, foreign and domestic. And also, to make the world into a better place."

James: "I hold on the oath, to protect and to make it better." I said in confidence.

(Y/n): "To make it better." He smiled, so does I. "We should continue our patrol now. Don't want Ozpin to get mad with it." I nodded and we walked out from the cafe and continued our patrol.

And also, I will try to update this book ASAP because I'm working on my second book annddd maybe a bit late because I'm back with my college life so.. yeah.
