Demi hopped out of the truck as she glanced around.

She heard a deep sound coming from further in the forest. It blared in her brain, hm there was a witch near by.

Demi couldn't stop her feet from stumbling towards it, something about it was off.

A hand caught her hip sternly, "Demi." Her mate grunted in displeasure.

"You're already wandering, pipsqueak." Cash chuckled as he trailed up to them.

Bear followed, "Why do they call you pipsqueak?"

Demi hummed as Onyx was trying to pull her skirt down to cover more.

"Cause 'm small. During puberty when I was supposed to grow- my magic developed and sucked up all my energy. My body was stressed and I didn't grow much. Same thing happened to my mom, that's why we're the smallest in the bunch."

Bear nodded at the information while looking to Onyx for instruction.

Onyx looked at Demi, she was staring into the distance.

"You hear something?"

Demi nodded swiftly, pointing towards where the sound was coming from.

"We follow her, Demi stick by me. Don't stray."

Demi was tempted to roll her eyes at her mate, but aware of his poor mood she did not. She's been on plenty of assignments on her own.

"While we walk keep an eye out for anything," he gruffed while keeping his eyes on Demi who followed the sounds only she heard.

Onyx trailed behind her closely.

They'd been walking for fifteen minutes now, they followed her as she twist and turned on an imaginary path.

"What's it sound like?" He suddenly asked.

Demi did a double take at the question, no one had ever asked her that.

"It sounds angry, sad... similar to yours actually."

Onyx frowned at the observation, "But this one is different. It's not a song, it's just a sound. The entire premise of magic is that it's alive, they have different melodie's. This is a single tone on repeat."

Onyx didn't say anything as he looked over quickly, his ears catching the sound of something in the distance.

He growled lowly and nodded for Bear to flank him. Onyx nudged Demi towards Cash who pushed her behind him.

Demi huffed. Onyx breathed in deeply, catching a scent.

"Humans, couple dozen," he sneered under his breath. The sudden cocking of multiple guns rang in his ears.

"Get down!" He roared and shoved Bear down.

Onyx saw Cash pull Demi underneath his body, allowing him of focus on the threat.

"Shift!" The Alpha demanded of his Beta and shifted himself.

Demi held her head and released a cry as the thrumming of the magic grew louder. She felt the magic trying to invade her, it was cold and perverse as it attacked her mind.

Onyx faltered at the sound and a bullet sunk into his leg. His Wolf yelped in pain, torn between going back to her and tearing his teeth into the humans.

"Go!" She grit through her teeth, feeling his gaze on her from far away.

Cash dragged them both behind a tree under the heavy fire.

Demi felt woozy, her stomach turning at the feel of this power. It felt sick.

She pushed herself up and Cash barked at her to stay still.

"I have to go to it, something's happening-" She gripped Cash's arm, yanking him behind her before sprinting towards her target.

"Are you insane?!" Cash screamed as bullet flew at their feet.

Soon enough they were out of sight. Onyx howled in anger, finally getting close enough to lunge and tear out one of the mens neck. Bear had taken down three soldiers before his Alpha joined.

Meanwhile Demi and Cash were approaching an abandoned warehouse. "It's coming from here!" She saw light flashing rapidly from inside.

She took a deep breath before teleporting into the warehouse. Both her and Cash stumbled, diving behind a metal beam as lighting struck at where they were just standing.

Demi panted with wide eyes. "What the fuck is that?!" Cash peaked back out only to flinch back as lighting exploded around them.

"It's a Witch, s-she's lost control of her magic," Demi panted as she looked back.

She could make out a tall blonde woman, squinting her eyes as light flooded them.

"Stay here," she instructed to her friend.

Demi bit her lip, she really hoped this worked. She could phase through inanimate objects, she can keep her body in that state for a couple seconds. That can apply to lightning right?

She pushed herself into action, teleporting rapidly to avoid getting hit. She bounced around the room to try and find the best angle at her.

Demi could make out a large metal machine on the Witches head. She screamed in agony, clawing at her body and the machine blocking her eyesight as her magic was overloading her.

Demi had just been getting closer, when lightning struck through her body. The Witch was now aiming for her but Demi was faster than her. Barely.

Smoke emitted from her body but she could function.

Note to self, lighting doesn't pass through entirely.

Demi took a running start as she saw an opening. She jumped and launched both feet into the Witches abdomen- hoping to stun her enough to stop her magic. The attacking witch flew back.

Demi fell to the ground with a thud and seized violently. Touching the woman's body sent electricity jolting through her. She cried out as she felt her feet burning.

Cash released a roar while turning into his Demonic form. He dodged the strokes of lighting, sliding to snag Demi's body. They once again took shelter and Demi clawed at the burning skin.

"We need to get that damn thing off her head!"

"We need to take her the fuck out!" Cash yelled back.

"We don't know what they did to her!" Demi spat and quickly went back at it. Cash tried to grip her but was pinned as soon as he stepped out.

Demi once again teleported quickly bouncing around the empty warehouse and barely dodging her wild attacks.

Demi yelped as she finally got a good position, practically falling on the electric Witch. 

Before she could attack, Demi gripped the machine on her head. She saw they'd shaved the sides of her head- seemingly screwing the device into the witches skull.

Demi had her feet on the woman's shoulder, shaking as her magic electrocuted her from the contact. Both women screamed while Demi tried to rip the headset off.

Cash noticed the lighting was dying down and leapt into action now that he wasn't pinned. He tackled the woman down and hissed as he was shocked. They all fell to the floor, Cash trying to hold her down without getting fried as Demi tore at the headset.

Cassius's eyes widened when he saw blood dripping from the blonde Witches skull.

"Demi! Demi you'll kill her!"

Demi sobbed as she tried to save her from this hell she's imprisoned in.

"We can't leave her like this!" She yelled over the woman's cries of pain and the crackling of magic.

She got loose abruptly and lighting exploded Cash and Demi into opposite directions.

Demi's skull crackled against the metal walls. Her world spinning as she landed roughly in her feet.

She heard a familiar roar and her eyes widened as she remembered her mate was in the area. She could feel him approaching and whipped her head to see Cash unconscious.

Apparently the blonde witch could sense the Alpha coming as well and began aiming towards the door he'd be coming through.

Demi panted in terror and stumbled forward, her body aching.

She struggled to activate her magic, pushing herself faster to get there in time.

Demi finally teleported just as Onyx ripped the door open with Bear. They locked eyes as she tried to shove him out.

A bellow tore from Demi's chest when she was struck in the back. Onyx's eyes widened and he felt his heart stop as Demi fell limp.

He barely had time to grip her twitching body, sparks flying from her body.

"Fuck!" Onyx held her close as he and Bear dodged whatever was shooting at them. They were equally covered in blood, in shorts as they darted towards the awakening Cassius.

He gasped awake as his head bled steadily, he hissed loudly in pain. The two other men dove into his cover.

"What the hell?!" Onyx snarled as he tried to wake up Demi. He felt around for a pulse.

"She's not fucking breathing!"

Onyx felt his world shifting around him. His eyes stung as he laid Demi down, pressing his lips to hers and breathing into her.

He did it frantically before pressing tightly onto her chest. "Demi," Cash whispered as he tried to find his voice.

"C'mon princess, fuck! Fuck!" He once again breathed into her before she spluttered against his mouth.

Demi was gasping and clawing at the ground with wild eyes.

"You're okay?" She croaked as she looked at him and then to Bear. She didn't know how she ended up here but she was worried they'd been hit at the door.

Onyx only snarled at her, absolutely furious at her for doing what she did.

She glanced around and saw the Witch approaching the door.

"Can't let her leave," her brothers were out in these woods.

Demi's voice was haggard as she tried to crawl towards the attacker.

Onyx began barking at her to stay put. But Demi knew the three men couldn't get close to the woman. She quickly summoned a sword into her grasp from the Void.

Her light eyes examined the pattern of her electricity. Onyx saw the gears turning in her head and lunged to grip her but grasped nothing as she teleported away. He slammed his fist into the cement.

"Demi! Damn it!"

She held her breath as she teleported right in front of her opponent. Demi bit her lip, ducking and sweeping the young woman's feet out from under her.

The blonde fell forward and Demi thrust her sword into her abdomen.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Demi cried quietly. She pulled out the sword as gently as she could when she stopped moving entirely. The blonde Witch was slumped against Demi's shoulder. Both of them crumpled to the ground. Her magic died down as Demi laid her on the floor, gripping her hands.

Demi sobbed harder when she felt a squeeze to her hand, tears escaping the machine on the girls face. They trailed down her cheeks.

The grasp on her hand loosened before falling limp.

Just as Demi thought it was over, crying loudly, a beeping sounded from the machine.

Demi looked up in confusion as her mate stalked towards her.

Suddenly, the Witches head and the machine exploded.

Blood and brain matter splattered all over Demi.

Demi fell back, crawling away as she wiped at her face. A scream of horror fell from her lips as she scrambled to get this poor girls blood off of her.

Just as Onyx fell to her side she turned and dry heaved. Onyx tried to touch her but she only panicked more.

Cash stripped himself of his ruined shirt and scrambled to give it to Onyx, stumbling to avoid the disfigured corpse.

Onyx used the rags to wipe at her face, Demi falling into a state of shock. Her wide eyes staring at Onyx.

In the background, Bear turned over to throw up. He'd seen endless battlefields, he'd killed countless people. But he'd never seen such a sight.

Onyx was silent as he wiped at his mates face quickly.

Demi kept opening her mouth to say something, only shallow breaths coming out. Black dots clouded her vision.

"Breathe. Deep breaths," he finally said something. His jaw was clenched in frustration.

Her eyes were rolling back and he grumbled before catching her from falling back. She'd passed out for good this time.

He felt her pulse once again, feeling it beat too fast to be normal.

That happens when you're struck by lighting multiple times. Fucking ridiculous.

Onyx felt the whites of his eyes dilute in black, his veins were already darkening.

"Wrap the body up and bring it back with us. We're fucking leaving."

Bear and Cash stiffened at his tone, looking at one another. Onyx glanced back sharply at the hesitation before they fell into step.
