"So basically, when I have visions of people I haven't met before, their faces are blurred out. And that's usually 90% of my visions." He nodded, "Okay, go on." "This guy was bad. I could tell. He walked in on a conference, and I only got bits and pieces of the conversation. But eventually he had these smoke monsters come out of his body and... and... they started killing and eating everyone in the conference room. There... there was blood everywhere..." I shivered. Freddy held his arms out and waved his hands inwards, signaling for a hug. I went forward and hugged the boy, sighing shakily. I let go and sat/leaned on his desk. "Then the next vision I had was on the way here before. There was the same bald evil man, but he was fighting a guy in a red suit, and it looked like it had a lightning bolt on the chest-" "Freddy, Y/n... this is Billy Batson. Freddy, make him feel at home. Maybe don't say anything weird?" "Oh, one weird thing is, did you know the Romans used to brush their teeth with their own urine?" The new kid and Rosa looked at us awkwardly, as I stared quietly. "Yeah, apparently it works." "Yeah, uh..." Rosa quietly left. The kid looked around the room, then moved on over to the window. He parted the blinds and looked down, while Freddy cast me a glance and looked back to him, "It's a long way down. Trust me, I speak from experience." He grabbed his crutch and stood, limping a few inches forward. "Victor pushed me." I kicked his butt lightly, he shouldn't joke like that. Victor is kind. He shifted his good foot in response to my light kick, and continued. "They seem nice, but don't buy it. It gets real Game of Thrones around here." The kid looked mortified. "What?" "Dude, I'm just kidding. It's terminal cancer, I uh.. I only have three months." I slapped him on the arm this time, "He's joking again. He's just got a bad leg." Billy looked at me quietly, before looking around again and wandering off to Freddy's superhero shelf. "Oh, yeah, that's the uh.. the old Bat-a-rang." I leaned on the desk still, grabbing Freddy's unoccupied phone and taking a bunch of goofy selfies on them. I took one of my doing a low-key duck lips and peace sign, and set it as his phone backgrounds after adding some filters and stickers to it. "I mean it's a replica, but, feel how sharp! I could kill you in your sleep with that thing." I smirked at this and kept taking some selfies, adding little super-hero-esque stickers to them and filters. I drew little bat-man ears on one. "Are you a supe's guy?" I heard Freddy showing off his collection. "Me and Y/n are too!" "Yup, I don't have any cool keep-sakes, but I got knowledge." "And some other things." He looked back and winked, then his face dropped at me using his phone. "What are you doing?" "Looking for your stash." He looked shocked and scared. "I'm kidding, nasty. I'm just screwing around." He went back to showing Billy his superhero stuff, and pulled out the bullet. "Anyways, one 9 millimeter round shot at Superman. It's the real deal." I giggled and set my contact name in Freddy's phone to "Hot Stuff" and put a couple dumb emojis beside it. I set the contact photo to one of the selfies I took, and then went through his apps. I posted the photo of me on his Instagram, putting the caption as "The owner's a dweeb. I'm the new owner." I giggled and posted it, and noticed Freddy looking back at me as Billy walked off to the bathroom now. Freddy swiped his phone out of my hand, "Dweeb. What all did you do?" "You'll find out." I winked at him. He scrolled down to the photo I posted. "I am not a dweeb!" He smirked at me, liking the photo. I giggled and he looked in his contacts. "Wow, hot stuff? What even are these emojis?" I started laughing harder, and he rolled his eyes as Victor called for dinner. He shut his phone off and pointed at me with a playful grin, "I'll get you back later."
"All hands on deck!" I put my hand on top of Freddy's as I usually did. "Thank you for this day, thank you for this family, thank you for the amazing friend we have," Victor smiled at me, and I returned it. I noticed Billy didn't have his hand in the middle of the table, and I huffed a bit. "Thank you for this food, even if it's not steak fillet." We all pulled back and I leaned back slightly in my chair beside Freddy. We started eating and the others talked, but I decided to talk with Freddy. "So, school tomorrow. It's like, Thursday. Friday's eve." I wiggled my shoulders a bit, smiling widely at the boy. He smirked and rolled his eyes, "Yeah, a.k.a. another day in prison." I giggled and nudged his foot under the table gently, "Dweeb, be thankful that you're alive! Death is extremely easy." He sighed a bit, nodding. "I never said I wasn't thankful for it." I nodded, "I'm also thankful for you. You're awesome." He blushed a bit and smiled at me, swallowing a mouthful of food. "Same to you, L/n."
We settled down for the night, Freddy and I playing Uno before bed. "Haha, I win!" He threw his head back and groaned in defeat. "You're mean. Not letting the disabled kid win." "That's guilt tripping. That's illegal." I giggled. Rosa smiled in the room, "Bed time soon, kids. Y/n, the guest room's ready for you when you are." "Thanks, Rosa." She nodded with a smile and left. Billy was asleep on the top bunk, or just quiet. I hummed a bit and threw a Reverse Card at Freddy before standing up, straightening up my pajamas. "Come get me if you need me, okay Freds?" I smiled and ruffled his curly hair. He nodded and held a hand out. I helped him up and fixed his crutch into his arm. "Will do, Y/n/n." I helped him over to the bottom bunk, then ruffled his hair again before saluting him and exiting the room. I walked down the hallway to the spare room, and opened the door to the familiar room. The soft cream sheets were made up, the brown comforter fitting the Victorian-era style. The curtains were drawn ever so slightly to let a line of moonlight shine on the wall. The closet actually had a few of my clothes hanging in it, that's how often I had been over and left stuff behind. The pillows were fixed up fancily, and the bedside table and lamp lay untouched. I turned the lamp on and fixed the bed to be more comfortable. I lay my school bag beside the nightstand, and my extra items bag on the bed. I hummed as I walked down the hall to the bathroom, and knocked before opening the door to the empty room. I hummed while I did the usual; brushed my teeth, used the restroom, and got ready for the next day. I double-checked under the sink to make sure my morning supplies were there; which they were. I exited the bathroom after washing my hands, and went back to the bedroom. I shuffled over to the bed and sat down on the soft, bouncy bed and sighed. This bed was sadly softer than the one I had at home. I put my extra stuff bag by my book bag, and turned the lamp off. I stared at the moonlight streak on the wall for a moment, thinking about life, just realizing how lucky I am to have a friend like Freddy. He's so kind and funny, I just hope that new kid treats him how he deserves. I thought until my mind became blank, and I had drifted into unconsciousness.
