Chapter 1
As I finished loading my gear into the venue, I looked back at Johnny, the vocalist of Revenant and asked, "How long do we have for soundcheck?" "We get about 45 minutes if we start it in 10." I nod in return before helping him get the rest of his guitars in. Austin, the drummer, came in. He already had his kit set up and his tech was putting microphones on it. I had about three basses for this tour, one of which was very special.
The first was an ESP LTD AP-5 with EMG Pickups
The second, a Spector NS Pulse 5 in Cinder Red
And finally, the first bass I had ever owned, a Custom Shop Warwick that my father had given me.
And for my amp I carried an Ampeg SVT-VR Head with an 8x10 Cabinet
Both of which cost me a pretty penny bit were worth every cent. "Ready to go." Austin's tech says, giving us hint that we can start sound check. I pick up my ESP bass and Johnny picks up his guitar and fixes his microphone.
After soundcheck we went back to our greenroom. Not too big, but not too small either. The venue was really nice, probably the best I've been in so far out of this current tour. The House Of Blues in Myrtle Beach. The rest of the guys stayed in the greenroom but I went to go see my good friend Bryan Garris, the singer for Knocked Loose.
"What's up Bry?" I say reaching out to dap him up. "Just getting ready for the show obviously, excited to see you guys' play yet again." He smiles. "Always great to hear. I'd say the same. Better than being cramped in our little mediocre bus. Yours must be better huh?" "A little bit. Better than our old situation. Anyways has anybody told you? The show's fully sold out tonight. You got a big crowd." My expression grows a bit more bright. "Holy shit. This is my first sold out show."
We caught up for a little bit before I headed back to the green room to stretch before the band gets ready to head on stage. "Here we go. Packed house. Let's rock this shit." Johnny says before we all run out.
About 30 minutes later, with plenty of headbanging and screaming, we all came off stage, but not before seeing a face in the crowd that I wouldn't forget. It was a short, white-haired woman standing on the wall of the venue. Her face looked terribly familiar but I couldn't wrap my head around the answer. Nonetheless, Johnny, Austin, and I headed back to the greenroom to put all of our stuff back up before I went to the shower.
After changing I went to the pit area to watch the boys in Knocked Loose tear it up.

Halfway through their set I looked over and seen her again. She was slightly banging her head, maybe not the big movement person.
I made my way through the crowd and caught up to her before managing up the courage to speak. "Hey, what's your name?" Immediately after speaking I regretted it because it sounded so awkward, which good reason being in a very big crowd. "Hayley! Why do you ask?" She yells back. Then, it clicked. Hayley. Hayley Williams? "Williams?" I asked for clarification. She only nodded back. "You're from Paramore aren't you?" By this time the music stopped and it was just Bryan speaking to the crowd. "Yep that's me. But again, why do you ask?" She asks again, with a smile to reassure me, I guessed. "I'm actually the bassist for Revenant, the band that played earlier."
"Really now? You guys killed it!" I didn't show it, but my heart skipped a beat and my brain scattered. Hayley Williams from fucking Paramore, one of my favorite bands, just complemented our performance. "Thank you so much! May I ask, what brings you to the show?" She smiled again and laughed slightly. "I never miss a chance to see a show. Plus, we stopped in town and I had nothing to do." Then, for no reason, I got random balls of steel and asked, "Would you wanna come outside with me so we can avoid the moshpits?"
"That's a great idea." Then we made our way through the crowd and eventually got outside. I could see her much better now in the slightly less dark outside compared to the venue. "I will say, I love your band's stuff."
"Thank you! Yours isn't half that bad either." I smiled back. "I didn't take you for a heavier music listener." "You'd be surprised. I never got your name by the way."
"Oh I'm sorry! I'm Adam. Adam Macher." I could genuinely not stop smiling. "Pleasure to meet you Adam." She reached out for a handshake, which I eagerly returned. "I seen you in the crowd while I was playing earlier, I knew you looked familiar."
We talked for a bit more before I heard through the walls Bryan ending the show. "Sounds like its about time for you to get going Adam." She smiles yet again. "Sadly, but it was great meeting you Ms. Williams!"
Before I walked off she called me back and we exchanged numbers, which I was again very surprised an starstruck about. Why would she want my number? Either way, I went backstage to meet with the boys from Revenant and Knocked as we helped each other load back up into our busses.
The night ended with us getting in and driving to the last stop of the tour in Columbia, South Carolina. We stopped in at the hotel and all went to bed after a very successful night.
