Cornering Baby

Ryan Ross was, in short, the most important person on this campus. If you didn't already know him, you wanted to know him. And if you did already know him, you were lucky he let you know him. Every guy on campus wanted to be him. Every girl on campus wanted to fuck him. Who was he kidding? The guys probably wanted to fuck him too. Ryan was like a god around the college. He couldn't remember the last time he'd even heard the word no. So obviously being stood up on Saturday was bothering the hell out of him.

Who the hell did Brendon Urie think he was? Nobody kept Ryan Ross waiting for so long without an explanation. What if Brendon didn't like him? What if he did want to battle with Ryan to become the most important man on campus? Whatever his reason was for not showing, Ryan was going to confront him. And soon.

He stepped out of his car and walked over to where his friends were waiting for him. They were all wearing green. Like this was some weird remake of mean girls. Ryan was wearing all black. Black T-shirt, black jeans, black boots, black head band. It looked like such a simple outfit, but it cost damn near a thousand dollars.

"Ryan Ross coming to school on time on a Monday morning?" Jon gasped theatrically.

"Fuck off, Jon."

"I'm shocked too." Andy shrugged.

Gee didn't speak. He was typing away at something on his phone. Probably tweeting about Ryan coming to class.

"Did you have a good weekend?" Pete asked.

"Yes."

"You didn't go to any of the parties." Gee pulled out his handheld mirror.

"I didn't see you all weekend." Pete shrugged.

"I texted and called you." Jon added.

"Are you alright, Ryan?" Andy asked, taking a step towards him.

"I'm fine." Ryan lifted the sunglasses that were hanging on the V-neck of his T-shirt and palced them over his darkened eyes.

He was anything but fine. He was worried sick. And not in the caring and considerate way. He was worried in the most selfish way possible because he was worried about himself and only himself. There was a chance his fame around campus could be taken from him. Was it really even fame? Fame was usually described as being known for some kind of achievement. Ryan couldn't remember the last time he'd achieved something positive.

No, he was more of the infamous type. Yeah, he was known for being the most attractive, wealthy and best dressed person on campus. But that was only the half of it. People knew Ryan as the party animal. The drinker. The guys with the best drugs in town. There was nothing positive about that. Brendon, on the other hand, probably accomplished a lot of shit. He would be famous. Now the question was which was better, Fame or Infamy?

Ryan would never admit how much being stood up one time bothered him. His entire weekend consisted of alcohol, pills, weed, cocaine and masturbation. Every time he closed his eyes he saw that cocky little bastard who stood him up. So he tried not to close his eyes. That could be why he looked so... Not well. Lack of sleep. Surplus of drugs.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Andy asked again.

"I'm fine. What time does class start?"

"Gerard!" The professor called out to him. "Do you know the answer?"

Gee looked up from his phone to stare at the teacher. He paused with his eyeliner pencil an inch away from his face. The confused expression he was wearing clearly giving away the fact that he had no idea what the teacher was talking about.

"No."

"That's it? Just no? You're not going to try and-"

"No." Gerard said again. Looking back down at his phone. He began outlining the bottom of his eye. The professor sighed and called on someone else.

"Gee is an idiot." Pete laughed.

Ryan laughed too. He glanced over at Pete, who was in his phone. He didn't remember Pete getting a new phone. They'd bought matching, custom made iPhones a few weeks ago. And the phone in his hand definitely wasn't it.

"You downgraded?" He frowned.

"What?" Pete asked confused. He followed Ryan's gaze to the phone and laughed again. "Oh. No. This is Patrick's phone. We accidentally-"

"Patrick Stump?" He interrupted.

"Yeah. I picked up his-"

"Let me see it."

Pete handed it over without hesitation. Ryan immediately clicked on the icon for contacts. There were only fifty in his phone. The number he was looking for shouldn't be hard to find. Unless, of course, he didn't even have the kid's- Bingo! Ryan couldn't help the grin that spread across his face when he saw the contact name. Brendon.

Patrick: Meet me in the bathroom near the school entrance. ASAP. It's an emergency.

He didn't have to wait long for a reply.

Brendon: Is everything okay? I'm on my way.

Ryan smiled and deleted the messages. Handing the phone back to Pete. He stood up. His friends began standing up with him, but he held out his hand. Telling them he wanted to go alone. The teacher glanced up at him and then looked back towards the board. Not bothering to question him. Smart.

Ryan walked out of the classroom with Andy following a few feet behind him. It was rare to see Ryan on school grounds and not see Andy with him. He was like a body guard for him. Everyone knew better than to mess with Andy. Vegan. Fully tattooed. Crazy muscled up. He was just an all around bad ass.

"Are we headed off campus?" Andy asked. Ryan knew the answer didn't matter. Andy would follow him anywhere he went.

"No. Just to the front of the school."

"Okay."

Ryan paused in the hallway when he saw Brendon approaching the bathroom. His head was down in his phone. Most likely texting Patrick's phone back to say he arrived. He didn't even look up at Ryan and Andy who were standing just a few feet away.

Ryan glanced around the hallway to make sure no one else was approaching the bathroom. He stared at the closed door Brendon entered seconds before. This could go one of two ways. The first being that Brendon actually did hate him. Then he'd be pissed about Ryan cornering him in a bathroom. The second way being that it was all a huge misunderstanding and Brendon had a good explanation for standing him up. And to make it up to him, Brendon decides to sucks his dick or something. Okay, that probably wasn't going to happen.

Brendon rushed to the bathroom with his phone clasp tightly in his hand. He just hoped Patrick was okay. What if the was crying? What if Pete was the reason? He sped up his walk. Looking at his phone to see if Patrick texted him again. But there was nothing. Brendon opened the bathroom door and glanced around. There was only one person in there and it definitely wasn't Patrick. So Brendon leaned against the wall and waited.

Just a few seconds later the door opened again. Brendon stood up straighter, preparing to comfort his friend. He stopped in his tracks when he realized who was entering. Ryan Ross and the tattooed guy whose name Brendon couldn't remember. Just his luck. Ryan was wearing all black from his shoes to his headband. Maybe he had a funeral to go to later. Ryan glanced at the other guy in the bathroom and frowned.

"Get out."

He looked up in shock. "I-I just needed to wash my-"

"Get out." The tattooed one said it this time.

The guy pulled away from the sink immediately and scrambled for the door. Making sure not to touch either of them on the way out. Brendon frowned his disapproval.

"That was rude."

Ryan rolled his eyes. "Andy, watch the door."

"From the inside or outside?"

"Outside."

Andy nodded and walked out of the bathroom. Brendon felt himself beginning to panic. He was stuck in here. Why was he doing this? Did he want to beat him up or something? That thought caused Brendon to panic even more. He'd never gotten into a fight before.

"A-Are you going to beat me up?"

Ryan drew back. Staring at him as if he'd grown a second head, before he laughed. "No."

"Then why are we in here alone? Why is Andy watching the door?"

"Because I want to talk to you." He took a step towards him.

Brendon stepped back. "I-I can't right now. I'm supposed to be meeting someone."

"Then I'll make it fast." Another step towards him.

Another step back. "Then I'll just text my friend and tell him-"

"No." Ryan walked the small distance between them and snatched the phone out of his hands. "That's won't be necessary."

Brendon was really afraid now. But he put on a brave face. "Okay."

"So," Ryan slipped the phone into his pocket as he spoke. "You stood me up."

Brendon's eyes snapped to his. That wasn't what he was expecting. He was surprised a guy like Ryan would even remember making plans with a guy like him.

"I-uh, sorry. I forgot."

"No you didn't. You purposely stood me up. Why?"

"I-"

"Why?" Ryan snapped the word. Brendon flinched.

"I was afraid." He began fidgeting his fingers.

"Of what?" Ryan's eyebrows furrowed.

"Of embarrassing myself in front of you. I mean, you're Ryan freaking Ross."

"And? I was Ryan Ross when I asked you to spend the day with me. Why didn't you just say no?"

"Because I-I didn't exactly know who you were when you asked me." He admitted. It sounded even dumber than he thought.

Ryan clicked his tongue. "Brendon-"

"Don't you go acting like it's no big deal! Everyone in school knows who you are. You're the it guy."

"So?"

"So, I'm not popular. I won't blend with you."

"You don't have to." He sighed. "Look, when I asked you to hang out, I asked because you seemed like a cool guy. Not because I was Ryan Ross."

"Really?"

"Really." He smiled his winning smile. Causing Brendon to grin back in response.

"I'm sorry I stood you up then."

He laughed. His body beginning to relax. It worked. He and Brendon were on good terms. Competition eliminated.

"It's alright. It wasn't a big deal." He lied easily. "Just make it up to me."

"How?"

"Let's go on the town today."

"After class?"

"Right now."
