"Fire Opal, due for extraction in three days."

"All good Here!"

"Next!"

The Kindergarten gem recruiters were taking roll and checking up on the incubating gems. Just another day in a kindergarten.

"And how is the Labradorite incubating?"

"Rather well. It should be ready in four days."

"Perfect. Homeworld will be pleased with the Amethyst and Jasper recruitment count this quarter."

Suddenly 20 gems warped in and began attacking the Gem Recruiters.

"We won't let you continue killing this planet! Crystal Gems, bubble them!" The tall pink one called out.

"Pink Diamond? The Rebels! It can't be! Every gem for themselves!!!"

No more than a few minutes later the raid was over the rebels bubbled the Recruiter gems and sent them to a secret location.

"We will have to return regularly for the incubating gems. There is a chance they might join us." The one Nephrite had identified as Pink Diamond stated.

'Why would a Diamond rebel?' Jade wondered. 'No matter. I have to protect the incubating gems now. I won't let them be bubbled.'

***Time Skip 4 Days***
"Where are we going, Jade?" Little Fire Opal asked.

"To find us some more friends." Jade replied. "There are some gems due to emerge in a couple days and we need to make sure they make it out safely."

Fire Opal nodded. She had just emerged yesterday. She had met Jade, who a introduced her to the remaining hidden kindergarten gems.

There was Jade, Beryl, Topaz, Pyrite, Emerald, Flourite, Coral, Jasper, Feldspar and Jet. They were all strong and powerful. Fire Opal saw they all seemed to have the simaller hair styles. Jade, the oldest told her it was a trait Kindergarten gems had.

I was the youngest and smallest since I was so new. Jade had been teaching us about our powers and abilities. She took us to the training pit every day and I watched the others summon their weapons and spar while Jade and I sat and watched. She always treated me like I was her little sister.

"Jade?"

"Hmm?"

"Can you teach me how to summon my weapon?"

"Fire, you are still stabilizing. If you irritate your gem you could easily become corrupted. Then what?"

"Well, when will you teach me?"

"When I can tell you are stable enough. The Recruiters I told you about taught me about post extraction processes."

"So who are we gonna find today?"

"Hmm. Looks like an Amethyst, a Howlite, two Agates black and blue, a Tourmaline, and a Labradorite."

"Sweet! Where to first?"

We head to the sections and welcome the new Agates, they are a bit bigger than I am but they look nice.

'Maybe Jade was right about me being a little different.' I don't have near the build or strength as Jasper or Jet, but its obvious Black and Blue are going to be very heavily built.

Black walks up and shakes my hand. "Hi! I'm Black Agate! Who are you?"

"Fire Opal, you can call me Fire. And this is Jade." She smiles at both of them.

"On to Tourmaline." She tells us and the three of us follow.

Gradually we meet Tourmaline and Howlite. They each seem eager to join us and we move on to Amethyst.

"Hello! I'm Amethyst! Where am I? What is your name? Do you want to be my friend?"

"I'm Fire Opal." I say with a smile. I move to shake her hand and she runs up and envelopes me in a bear hug.

"You *gasp* can call me Fire." I manage. Amethyst sets me back down and grins wildly.

"Nice to meet ya, Fire!" 'She seems nice.'

I look over at Jade and she seems confused. 'She should be bigger. Wait! She should have emerged months ago!' I am shocked I can hear Jade's thoughts! 'Is this one of my powers?'

"Well, on to Labradorite." Jade exclaims and we all follow suit.

We make it to Labradorite's incubation slot and I realize she was being grown right next to me! That's my incubation hole right there!

I walk up and place my hand on Labradorite's incubation space. 'Why did they grow you next to me?'

'Who's there?' I jump back in surprise. Jade walks up to my side.

"I think she is ready." I tell her. Jade inspects the space and nods. She knocks on the stone and steps back.

'Can you hear me?'

'Yes. But, who are you?'

'I'm Fire Opal. Are you Labradorite?'

'I am.'

'Well, you can, uh, come out now.'

'Is it safe?'

'Of course, I'll make sure your safe.'

'Alright, I'm coming out.'

There is a brilliant flash of light and when my eyes readjust I can see a blue striped gem.

She isn't as strong as any of the others and she seems a bit more like me!

"I am Labradorite." She says.

Hey there! So this is my first chapter on my second book. I plan to make some longer chapters in the future.

Most of the characters here are made up by me and are in no way cannon with the Steven Universe TV show. I will try to get some pictures of each gem mentioned drawn and posted to my story "Random Steven Universe Stuff" though you will have to bear with me on how fast I can get them drawn.

Amethyst and Jasper are the same ones from the show, though.

This is timewise set many many years before Ocean Town (Beach City) is established.
