Chapter 2: Touring Mewni

For we a week I have been tying notes to a branch at the edge of the woods to communicate with my new friend Dawn. Finally we decided it was time to get together again and tour each others kingdoms.

I stood at the place where we first met waiting for her to open the barrier when suddenly something came hurdling at me from the treetops. I screamed in surprise and fell to the ground. I quickly scrambled to flip whatever had attacked me. As I went to throw a punch I heard laughter and realized it was Dawn. I was a little angry at first but accepted her hand as she helped me up. Then I tackled her to the ground in a hug as revenge and we laid there for a moment both laughing.

We both stood once again and I led Dawn towards my castle to show her the wonders of Mewni. The first stop, The Courtyard of Queens, is very similar to what Star deems the grandma room. Instead of the tapestries there is a statue of each of the previous queens of Mewni with plaques engraved with their names and achievements.

I pulled Dawn to the very last statue with pride. "This is my mother Queen Moon's statue. She was known for driving away the evil monster army." I told her. "Wow, she looks very regal." Dawn told me. "You haven't even seen the best part yet!" I exclaimed and pressed the diamond shaped gem below my mother's plaque.

The once still statue slowly begins to move around the courtyard performing different fighting moves in an almost dance-like fashion before moving back to the pedestal and resuming its frozen position of elegance. "That's amazing! Do they all do that?" Dawn asks. I smile and begin to explain. "Each of the statues is imbued with a magical stone that allows them to move in specific motions set by the queens themselves." I enthusiastically told my friend. "What about that one?" Dawn asked pointing a statue a few feet away that was covered up.

" Oh, that's Queen Eclipsa's statue. After she abandoned the throne to run away with a monster its taboo to talk about her and almost everything related to her is hidden away." I explained. "What does her statue do?" Dawn asked curiously creeping closer. "I'm not sure. The statue has always been covered up and nobody's supposed to go near it." I told her.

"Well rules are meant to be broken," Dawn said as she smiled mischievously and pulled away the cover.

I cautiously moved next to her to stare at the looming statue of my great something grandma sitting atop the shoulders of a monster. While I was still mesmerized by the intimidating sight Dawn reached out and pressed the stone. Quickly I pulled us to the side as the huge statue started to move. We both watched in awe as The statue monster put down Eclipsa and they happily waltzed around the courtyard in a beautiful dance before sharing a stone kiss and getting back into their ominous stance.

"Wow! I can't believe I've never seen that before." I exclaimed. "breaking the rules wins again!" Dawn smiles. "Yeah it sure did, now come on there's more to see." I told Dawn as we pulled the tarp back over the statue and began to walk away. As I was leading dawn to the next location she sked me, "Will there ever be a statue of you in there?" I shook my head. No, my older sister will be the one to become queen and I'll just stay a princess." I told her.

"We're here!" I smiled leading Dawn into the street fair where the best food in Mewni was served. "We have creamed corn, butter corn, sweet corn, corn on the cobb, corn casserole, and more!" I excitedly told her getting into one of the lines.

"Don't you have nuts, or berries, or other fruits, or anything?" Dawn asked looking around. "We have corn." I told her in answer. "Riiiiiiight, I think I'll skip this meal." Dawn told me surrounded by the corn dishes I had just ordered. "Suit yourself, " I shrugged.

After the corn debacle I took Dawn to the last stop and one of my favorite places, the stables. "These are the warnicorns!" I exclaimed throwing my arms out towards the many stalls. "Technically these all belong to my mom but I check up on them all the time and Sparkles only lets me ride her. " I proudly told dawn.

"Wow! Can we go for a ride right now?" Dawn asked practically jumping. "Sure we can!" I whistled calling over my second favorite warnicorn, Twinkle.

I helped dawn onto her before hopping up onto Sparkles and we started trotting away towards the woods.
