27. marveled
You often thought back to the weeks leading up to the Sports Festival. It was a time of your life that was so new and precious—that now seemed so far out of reach.
That time with Izuku was life changing. You had no idea that sharing those pieces of yourself with each other was setting you up for an even greater story.
You remembered that one day where he teased you for being silly, wanting to make a wish on a dandelion. But you remembered that you wanted moments like those to last forever.
You and him, always together.
Maybe those dandelions weren't so silly after all.
Because you wouldn't give up a life with Izuku for anything.
"Are you boys done with your rooms yet?" Mina asked as she walked into the common room with you clinging to her back. She adjusted her grip on your thighs as the boys directed their attention to all of you who just entered.
"Yeah! We've just been chilling." Kamanari responded as he held up a hand in a greeting of sorts.
"We had an idea." Mina grinned and you began nodding eagerly.
Izuku smiled at you with entertainment lighting in his green eyes. The sight of you using Mina as your own personal buggy was adorable to him.
"Let's do class 1-A's first ever best room competition!"
*
"Wait! No! Hold on!" Izuku screamed as he tried to cover up his door, but Mina got to it first.
Izuku pouted at his desk after he shoved past everyone and into his room, embarrassed by all of the All Might decor.
"You weren't kidding." Mina muttered to you as everyone shouted, once a fanboy always a fanboy.
Izuku walked over to you, defeated. You looped your arm in his and patted it gently with a mocking frown spread across your lips. "It's okay Izuku, we all know you didn't win." You cooed and he ruffled your hair in retaliation.
*
The little competition went by fast. It consisted of lots of teasing, interesting new insights of all your friends, and sweet treats.
You weren't embarrassed to show off your room. Your bed had a plain comforter and sheet spread but you had fun decorative throw pillows (that spent most of their time under your bed) and different variations of dinosaur plushies.
Your walls were covered with posters, some were of cartoons and others were of bands you listened to.
You had a tall bookshelf near your carpet with all of your favorite books, figurines, and pictures of your friends and family.
You sat on the plush carpet in the center of your dorm, it was in the middle of your bed and your desk, as your friends scanned the room.
"I feel like I just walked into a toddler's bedroom." Someone said as they all stared at the glow in the dark stars you stuck to your ceiling.
You threw a pillow at them. "It does not look like that!"
**
You sat on the couch sulking as Mina began shaking the box everyone casted their votes in. Izuku would have comforted you, but he also sat there feeling slightly embarrassed that he had no chance to win either.
Sota handed you another piece of cake. "Cheer up, Aizawa-San." He smiled.
You looked up at Izuku. "Sorry man, if he keeps giving me cake like this, this thing between you and I isn't going to work out." You giggled evilly as you began to eat your slice while Izuku freaked out.
"The winner is Rikido Sato!" Mina cheered.

You sat in the common area, the lighting in the room dim—illuminated by the faint glow of the lamp you had on. There was a book sitting in your lap, open but unread. Izuku had went outside with a few of your friends a while ago. It was hard not joining because you were really curious and liked being included—but you weren't asked so you were being mindful of their request.
But you fucking hated that!
Being alone was boring after the exhilarating day you had. You were so excited to no longer be alone in this huge dorm, having your friends back by your side was all you wanted since you were rescued from the attack on Kamino.
But here you were all alone.
You groaned as you leaned your head back on the arm rest of the couch. You stared out the window, admiring the way the sky looked the same from upside down.
Everyone who hadn't gone outside retreated to their rooms. They were all exhausted from move in day, so you were one of few who still had an abundance of energy.
You held up the book and squinted your eyes to try and read it again.
You didn't hear the door open or the footsteps and whispers of your friends as they came back inside.
You did however, feel the shift in the couch.
"I'm pretty sure it's easier to read sitting up." Izuku chuckled as he reached forward and grabbed your wrist, gently tugging you up and towards him.
You frowned. "That wasn't working either."
Izuku's brows scrunched up in that cute way they did when he was thinking. "What's wrong?" He asked.
You shook your head and forced on a small smile. "Nothing at all."
Izuku tilted his head to the side and gave you a look that said, come on, I know you better than that.
You sighed, leaning further into the corner of the couch and letting the cushions take all the pressure away from you.
"I've just missed everyone. I was lonely sitting here all by myself." You frowned. "I feel like a needy little brat sitting here whining about not being included in a single conversation."
Izuku laughed softly and before you could yell at him for not taking you seriously, he leaned forward and wrapped his arms around you—bringing you closer.
Your face met his chest and your head turned to press your cheek against it.
"Tsu was just upset about something she said back when we were all at the hospital. Kirishima was determined to rescue you and Bakugou, and had been encouraging me to come too. She was worried about the repercussions of us breaking the law." He explained, slowly stroking the back of your messy head of hair.
With a smile, "Breaking the law for a second time you mean." You added playfully.
Izuku laughed and you felt him nod as his head lightly grazed yours. "I'd do it for you a million times over." He whispered.
You clutched his shirt and resisted the urge to cry from how sweet he was being. He always was but you had still yet to get used to it. A part of you hoped that you never would—that you would always be marveled by whatever he had to say.
"I'd do it for you too." You whispered.
In that moment, the mood in the room changed.
Izuku's breathing hitched. "God, Y/n, you drive me absolutely crazy."
He leaned back and grabbed your face softly and pulled you towards him—pressing his lips firmly against yours.
You reached up and tangled your hands in the mass of his curls, urging him closer like he was with you.
"In a good way, right?" You spoke against his lips between kisses.
"In the best way." He replied, closing the gap again with more fervor.
His tongue lightly grazed your lips and your heart pounded at the contact, nervous but excited by the change in pace.
Your mouth parted and they met, dancing with one another as the two of you stumbled your way along this new way of discovering each other.
The feeling lasted even as the action stopped. The two of you had fallen back onto the couch long ago, curled against each other as you held one another the only way you knew how.
Izuku's forehead rested against yours as the two of you laid in the room dimly light by the lamp behind you, only the sound of your breathing filling the room as he traced small circles along the length of your arm.
"I like this new beginning." Izuku whispered after a while.
You remained there, still, as you replied. "Beginnings scare me."
You felt something change so you opened your eyes, only to be met with his. "Why?" He whispered.
You gulped, a slow and agonizing feeling. "Because a beginning means there's so much more to come, so much uncertainty." You whispered, fear taking over the entirety of you.
Izuku studied your features for a moment as he let your words settle in his mind. When anyone else watched you similar to this for an extended moment in time, it made you anxious. But with Izuku you loved that he took consideration when you spoke to him. He was never impulsive, always considering you.
"That's true," he didn't even try to deny your worries. "But one thing is for sure." He whispered as he leaned forward and placed a kiss on the spot of your jaw that was right below your ear.
Your breathing hitched. "I'll be by your side for all of it." He whispered.

Practicing for the licensing exam was not something you were expecting to do your first year at U.A. When you talked to your father about it before you even enrolled in the school, he always said that the teachers had the students tested in the middle of their second year.
It felt good to know that your class got to test early. You knew part of the reason was all of the villain attacks, but having the teachers believe that you're all ready was a nice confidence boost.
You stood in Gym Gamma with the rest of your classmates.
Each of you were tasked with coming up with ultimate moves, but you just weren't sure how to go about that.
With float being the base of your quirk, there was nothing much you could do with that.
Being that these moves are very much for fan-service, no one would remember a girl just for floating. Not when there's heroes like Uraraka to compete with.
You could do something with your strength enhancer side, but could that even last long enough to make something cool?
This was so hopeless.
"Young Aizawa." All Might's voice called as you sat against a rock, defeated but deep in thought.
Your eyes flickered up and you smiled lazily at the deflated pro. "I told you Y/n is fine."
All Might shook his head. "Not in class, I'm sure that would give your classmates a lot of questions." He spoke behind his hand, whispering to you and ending with a wink.
You laughed softly. "Yeah, I guess."
"What's wrong?" He asked, walking towards your rock and taking a seat besides you.
You sighed, your face falling to your hands. "My quirk just doesn't seem made for ultimate moves like this."
All Might hummed, rubbing his hand under his chin as he thought. "My master never used it as an ultimate move either. It's a nice tool but it's suited better with something else."
You groaned, doubling over in defeat more. "Great." You grumbled, feeling much worse that you did before he walked over.
He seemed to catch himself because he stammered nervously. "Not that you're useless, Aizawa-San!" He exclaimed. "You have much more in your arsenal than just float."
Your eyes met and he kept going, "You have brilliant skills in martial arts, you have your weapons, you can enhance your strength and speed, and you can float more than just yourself."
You sighed, it felt nice to hear that coming from someone else.
"You're set up for much more success then she ever was." He assured you.
All Might stood and outstretched his hand to you. You took it and stumbled to your feet.
"Alright." You smiled. "I think I can do it."

You skipped down the hall, searching for the room where they made costume alterations. You had seen it before but you couldn't remember which hallway it was in or the official term these people operated under.
"Aizawa-San!" Iida called out.
You spun around. "Hello Iida, Ochaco!" You grinned as the two of them approached you.
"Are you heading off the get your costume altered as well?" She asked with an innocent tilt of her head.
You nodded. "I just can't find the room."
Iida looked at you with slight disbelief lining his feature. "It's right there." He pointed to the door.
You turned and saw Izuku was approaching it from the opposite direction.
You went to greet him, but the door burst open with mad flames of slight fire and smoke.
Izuku screamed and you ran towards him just to find him pinned to the ground with a girl pressed up right against him.
