26. the start of something new

Arc 2

After the Kamino nightmare, things didn't go back to normal.

"I want to come with you too!" You whined, grabbing onto your father's arm and floating your body upwards as you clung to him.

He waved his arm around like he was swatting off a bug, or shoving off a disobedient child. "No. You need to go get your stuff moved into the dorms."

Your father had finally let you off the protective leash he put you on after the incident. (Only you weren't allowed to call it that because he said it would make people think he actually puts you on a leash)

But damn he may as well have, you haven't been allowed to go anywhere without him for weeks.

You should have been ecstatic that he was allowing you to venture off to the dorms alone, but that would just be another place to be surrounded by pro heroes playing helicopter parent. Besides, the only reason you wanted to go was to say hi to your friends and Midoriya.

"Whatever." You drawled out. "Lameee." You darted to your room to grab the box that you had packed earlier and brought it to the car an employee from the school brought over to pick you up.

"Whatever you do, don't let Izuku's mom not let him come back! He has to!" You called, shoving the box into the trunk, while pulling the hero driving the car inside to help you out.

"That's her decision, Y/n. You'll have to accept whatever she says."

"I just don't work like that." You winked at him. "I'll go over there and start crying and tell her how I need him to be there to protect me after the whole kidnapping fiasco."

Your father shoved you (lovingly) back into the house. "And she'll tell you that your pro hero father can do that just fine. Keep talking like that and I'm going to have to start worrying about your progress as a hero you manipulative little shit." He chuckled softly. "Go get the rest of your stuff before I put you on a real leash."

"Hey! I grew out of the ones they sell for toddlers a long time ago old man!" You shouted.

"Really?" He made a motion with his hands that signified something, in this case you, was small. "You look like you'd still fit."

"Oh just go already!" You saw the car pull up. "Good morning All Might!" You grinned and waved giddily, shifting from your grumpy demeanor, to the retired pro.

"Morning, young Aizawa." He lifted his hand that wasn't bandaged to greet you.

You scoffed. "Please, you're basically my uncle. Call me Y/n." You waved your hand dismissively.

"Inside Y/n." Your father snapped.

"Sir yes sir." You made a mocking saluting motion at him as you ran back inside the house.

**

"Yes I'll call you when I get there." You laughed softly. "But only if you call me whenever they leave, I don't believe for a second that my father will follow up with me." You grunted as you shoved your remaining box into the back of the car.

"Deal." Izuku's laugh was breathless and incredibly intoxicating.

"How are your injuries holding up?" You asked.

"I'm doing much better." You wondered if he was flexing his arms, stretching out the muscles that must be pretty tense.

"That's what I like to hear." You were grinning, you were always grinning when you talked to him.

He laughed softly. "How cool would it be," You knew he had just laid back on his bed because you could hear the squeaking of the springs within the mattress. "If we all lived together?"

You laughed. "I don't know if you're going to be able to handle seeing me everyday." You shook your head. "Or the rest of our classmates for that matter."

"Y/n, I dream of seeing you everyday."

Now you were blushing. "You flatter me too much."

He laughed. "Impossible."

You shook your head even though you knew he couldn't see it. "No, really, you do. Want me to pull my list back out and reread to you all of the reasons why you do in fact flatter me to much?"

You loved that it made him laugh, that he accepted you and all of your ridiculousness and just allowed it to bring more joy to his life.

You liked that you brought more joy to his life.

"Well I'm going to get going." You said as you shut the trunk. "My driver is glaring at me."

"Alright, I'll see you soon."

**

"This place is huge!" You gasped as you were led into Heights Alliance.

"I'm glad you seem to like it, Aizawa-San." Principal Nezu said giddily as he showed you around class 1-A's dorm.

"I do, this is really awesome."

"I do hope all of your friends decide to come. It would be a real shame." He sighed as he led you to one of the girls hallway where your room was located. "We spent so much time putting this idea into play, it should be completely finished up in the next few days. Oh! Your father will be staying on campus as well in the teacher dorms, isn't that exciting?"

You nodded, taking a minute to process all the information he was spewing. "Yes I'm glad he'll still be close."

Nezu left you to your room while he went back downstairs with the teacher who drove you over to grab your luggage.

You looked around the room and thought of all the ways you could decorate it. You fell back onto your bed and stared at the ceiling you wanted to line with stars, and hoped that everyone would be joining you here soon.

**

Three days past and it was finally time to move everyone into Heights Alliance.

You were absolutely ecstatic when your father told you he and All Might managed to get all of class A on board. You cried so many happy tears and called all of your friends to celebrate.

You ran out of the front door with your father closely behind and immediately charged towards Mina, tackling her in a hug.

"I'm so glad you're okay Y/n!" She cried as she patted your head and passed you off to Ochaco.

"Me too! Gosh it was so scary." Ochaco added and hugged you tightly before Tsu tackled you in another hug.

"Aizawa, I'm glad to see you're alright." Todoroki bowed his head slightly to you as you approached him.

You beamed. "Thank you, and thank you for coming with the rest of them to help me." You bowed as well, before jumping on Momo to thank her.

You continued hugging all of your friends, and smiling shyly at Izuku, before your father began going over everything while others had side conversations about everyone being allowed to move in.

"This is important so listen up." You stiffened as your father's voice shifted into a stern tone.

"Todoroki. Kirishima. Midoriya. Yaoyorozu. Iida. On that night the five of you headed out to rescue Bakugou and Y/n. The issue has been ignored for now, and if it wasn't for All Might's retirement I would have expelled all of you except for Bakugou, Y/n, Hagakure, and Jiro."

Everyone stiffened.

"The twelve of you didn't stop them either." He continued going on and you stared down at your feet. You didn't like them all getting in trouble, it must've been such a hard decision.

"You might be able to regain our trust. Now! Look lively and let's move on."

He is such an asshole.

Kamanari screamed as Bakugou dragged him behind the bush and his quirk went off in a frenzy. He walked back around in his dumb faze and no one could help but laugh.

Bakugou grabbed your arm and dragged you over with him to face Kirishima.

"What, did you shake him down for that?" Kirishima gasped as Bakugou handed him the money the two of you saved to pay him back for the money he spent to help search for you two.

You laughed as Bakugou shouted something about not wanting to be called stingy.

You quickly hugged Kirishima. "It's a thank you and a return for saving us."

"How did you guys even know?" He asked as Bakugou walked away, his eyes quickly returning to you.

You put your fingers up to your lips and grinned. "It's a secret."

"Word always gets out with these idiots!" Bakugou yelled as he swung his arm around dismissively.

Kirishima smiled at the boy walking away. "Thanks." He whispered.

**

"It's one class to each building. The girls are on the right, boys the left."

"Aizawa-San it's so cool that you've already been living here!" Sero said as your father lazily left you with the task of showing your classmates around.

You grinned. "I know. Special treatment am I right?"

It seemed word hadn't gotten out to your friends about everything from that night. No one had asked about the truth of your family, which you were grateful no one shared.

You know that the ones who were there that night likely heard everything All For One said, but most of them probably didn't even know who Nana Shimura was. Unless they opened a history textbook.

You had done that, scouring through U.A's library. You had no memories of your life before you were adopted, so you had no idea if you even met the woman. But you still weren't able to find out much about her, other than she was a notorious hero with no family.

But that couldn't be true?

You did snap a picture you found in a very old book, one of her and your grandfather fighting alongside each other. It was a keepsake.

But besides all of that, you were glad to keep this to yourself for now. There was to much that needed to be figured out, too much danger.

"Kyoka!" You grinned as you jumped up and wrapped your arms around the girls neck. "Your room is right next to mine!"

"Y/n—you're choking me!" She coughed and you quickly released your hold on her.

**

"Izuku, this is a lot of All Might stuff."

"I know! Stop mentioning it!" He covered his face in embarrassment as you doubled over on his bed, laughing.

Since you had already set your room up, you decided to help Izuku with his.

And by help, you meant sitting on his bed, watching him do all the work and occasionally tease him about his decorations.

"I knew you were a fanboy but I didn't know it was this extreme." You batted your hand in his direction as you continued making teasing remarks and facial expressions.

"I'll kick you out."

"Nah, you'd miss me too much."

Izuku but his lip slightly—nervously, and looked away. With a sigh, you stood up and walked over to him, wrapping your arms around him and pressing your face against his back.

"I'm sorry for teasing, your decorations are very unique."

Izuku let out a soft chuckle. "I don't mind your teasing."

You lifted your head and tried to catch a glimpse of his face. "Then why do you seem upset?"

Izuku turned so that he was facing you, his hands cupped your face gently. "I was just a little embarrassed, this is all so different."

"What? Living here?" You asked with a snort.

He nodded. "Yeah, and having you in here with me, being to spend time with you whenever." He was still embarrassed, you could tell by the pink hue spread across his cheeks. "I just thought you looked beautiful...I like having you so close by. This is a nice new normal." He whispered.

You smiled and used your grip on him to pull him closer against you and hugging him tightly—forcing him to let go of your face and hug you back.

"I love having you so close by too." You smiled.

He let out a soft chuckle, or a sigh of relief you weren't entirely sure. His chin met your head an the two of you stood there, fitting together like the perfect puzzle, just so relieved to be in each other's arms again.
