17. in your corner

"BAKUGOU!" The three of you doubled over laughing as you stood in front of the desk of your angry friend who's hair was slicked down like a Ken Barbie doll.

"Bakubro this is priceless!" You clutched your stomach and wiped away a tear, sneakily reaching into the pocket of your backpack and pulling out your phone.

The second you snapped a picture the blonde tackled you in attempt to get it back.

Eventually, after a good few minutes of rolling around the floor, Kirishima pried Bakugou off you and Sero helped you stand.

You skipped over to Izuku, Iida, and Todoroki and stuck your tongue out at Bakugou—turning as he began thrashing around in Kirishima's hold.

"Now the most transformative and traumatic experience definitely had to be the one the four of you had!" Kaminari shouted as you walked over there.

"Mind your own business." You stuck your tongue out at him and pulled down your lower eye lid.

"Yeah the Hero Killer!" Sero added, joining the conversation from across the room. "I'm glad you're still alive." Kirishima called out as well, both of them being 'murdered' by Bakugou.

As everyone continued adding in their opinions or worries about the Hero Killer, you turned towards Ochaco with a bright smile on your face. "So how was the last few days of your internship?"

She was happy to talk to you about it all since the two of you had already spoken on the phone a few times since the attack. "It was really great! He taught me some martial arts like you suggested."

You grinned from ear to ear. "We should definitely spar some time then."

She sweat-dropped. "I don't know about that."

"I am here! And the reason for that is your basic hero training!" All Might stood as tall as he always did, in his basic pose with his fists planted right on his hips.

It had been a while since you had seen the number one hero. After the USJ and the sports festival your father seemed to try and keep you away from him as much as he could.

There wasn't a need for his class for a couple of weeks due to the internships and the work you all did in homeroom, but it was cool to be back outside and in your hero costumes without having to fear for your life.

You were excited to do a little rescue training exercise in Field Gamma. It seemed like a great course for your quirk and you were relieved that you weren't fighting anything or anyone. Your body was still a bit stiff from your injuries, but you were getting stronger everyday.

You were soon lined up with Izuku, Ashido, Ojiro, Iida, and Sero. Looking back and forth at your opponents, you were quite excited for this little race.

Once All Might sent out the distress signal, you activated the odd power type piece of your quirk to your legs and bounded in a running start before activating float.

You marveled at the feeling of being air bound and free once more, enjoying the fact that you had talented competition in this race.

Sero would do awesome, probably best you even with his tape arms. He was taking the same route as you were and staying air bound.

Mina was great at moving quickly with her acid and Ojiro's tail granted him stellar mobility as well.

You knew Iida and Izuku's quirks very well now and felt like you could hold your own against them.

In the end you came in neck and neck with Sero, stumbling into each other and laughing as the two of you finished. You were glad All Might planned the lesson the way he did, you were all in need of a light and fun training regiment.

"Y/n-Chan you looked so happy up there today!" Mina grinned as she jumped on you, clinging to your back.

Your face immediately heated up due to the fact that you were standing there with your under shirt still unbuttoned. You had never been around girls much growing up so the way they were all so comfortable around you wasn't something you easily felt.

"I didn't make much improvements with my quirk during the internship but I did gain some confidence." You smiled with a quick thumbs up, getting to work on your buttons.

"I never would've pegged you as the type to need confidence. You always seem so sure of yourself." Kyoka smiled as she rolled up her socks.

"Y/n-Chan is just a big old baby, ribbit." Tsu giggled as you threw your shoe in her direction.

"Do you girls hear that whispering?" Yaoyorozu asked as she let down her hair from its typical tight pony tail.

"I do now that you mention it." You grumbled, walking over to the wall and hearing Mineta.

Everyone stiffened as he began listing off all of the qualities in your classmates he believed to be sexy. You quickly scanned the wall and found a hole that he could possibly be peeing in, motioning to Jirou.

She poked her jack through it and cringed as she heard Mineta scream out in agony.

"How despicable! Let's cover that up immediately." Yaoyorozu scoffed.

You and Jirou sulked in the corner. "We're the only ones he didn't mention.

"Did you want to be objectified!?"

"Done with your meeting with Midoriya so soon, All Might?" Aizawa wasn't sure why he was here. He waited a moment to allow his student to run off back in the direction of Class-A before approaching.

All Might stared down the tired old teacher, also wondering why he was here. The number one hero had done exactly what Aizawa had asked him to, he's stayed away from you.

"Is there something you needed to tell me?" All Might was not in his muscle form, which made Aizawa feel more comfortable talking with him.

"Let's step back inside, shall we?" Aizawa asked as he motioned towards the room All Might had just been in.

Aizawa wouldn't have even considered this discussion if it weren't for the attack on Hosu City. The amount of danger you were in had only increased since the day he adopted you, Aizawa needed to know that you had the number one hero on your side as well.

"You should probably sit down for this." Aizawa was surprised by the way he kept his tired persona on, even though this was a serious and nerve wracking conversation.

"You're freaking me out, Aizawa." All Might let out a laugh but cut it short when he noticed how unwavering the serious expression on his face was.

"I want to talk about my daughter."

All Might blinked in surprise. "Oh, she did well in class I can assure you she's maintaining a steady-"

"Not about her classroom performances."

All Might stiffened but nodded slowly as he crossed his hands together and laid them on his lap, desperate to hide his stress.

He never thought this day would come, when he finally found out the truth about you.

"Did you know that Nana Shimura had a son?"

All Might grew anxious at the mention of his master's name. "How do you-"

"Her son was married and had three children." He held up the number three as he ignored All Might's attempted question. "They all died in a villain attack about 14 years ago."

"Why are you telling me this?" All Might shook his head, trying to repress the bubbling feeling of sadness that he hadn't let himself experience since the death of Nana.

"Because there was one who lived." Aizawa spoke gently, causing All Might's head to shoot up.

"What?" He whispered.

Aizawa nodded. "Gran Torino and I were there the night they were all killed, not soon enough unfortunately. Torino found her in the back of the remains of their home." He gulped. "The child he found was my daughter."

All Might's hands began to tremble, reminding Aizawa why Gran Torino had insisted that the hero remained in the dark about her past for all these years.

"Y/n...Shimura." He whispered.

"No." Aizawa snapped.

All Might's eyes locked with his. "Oh, of course not, I'm sorry."

"The reason I'm telling you this is because I believe a villain named All For One is after her." Aizawa said, not missing the fearful look in the hero's eyes. "I don't know how you or your master are connected to him, but I need you to ensure my daughter is safe."

"Aizawa." All Might's voice was shaky.

"I can't always be around." Aizawa shook his head, thinking back to the danger you were in during your internship. "And you're the only one strong enough to defeat a villain with such resources."

Aizawa began to walk over to the door, stopping and leaning his head against it as he dwelled in all the information he just shared. "I'm trusting in you, All Might." He opened the door but stopped one last time before he stepped out. "Don't mention any of this to her. Torino and I have kept her past hidden from her, hoping it would save her."

"It's not enough you know." All Might called out between sobs. "It doesn't matter what name she hides under, he will find her."

Aizawa continued walking down the hall, missing All Might's last sentiment.

"He will never stop until he's killed everyone connected to One For All."

It was finally the final week of June and the exams for the hero course were coming up quicker than most of Class-A could handle.

"I didn't study at all!" Kaminari screamed with a supportive Mina by his side.

"Same can't be said for Y/n." Mina pouted as she glanced over at your desk.

You had placed third in the midterms and you were determined to climb up a rank now that it was finals. You often slacked off when it came to your studies, but when there was a big test like this approaching you completely threw yourself into the books.

Yaoyorozu had invited you over to her house to study with her on days she wasn't tutoring anyone else. Being the top two ranked in your class the two of you often prepared together.

Izuku stared worriedly at you as you walked to lunch still holding open your textbook, occasionally whipping out a post it and sticking a note or annotation to yourself on a page.

Only once you knocked into him, almost pushing him over, did he grab the book from you.

"Oi! The hell?" You screamed as you jumped up, trying to grab your book.

"Oh, hello, Aizawa-San." He seemingly ignored you as he opened up your textbook to read through your notes.

Your face flushed with anger, not enjoying the teasing. "Hey you're locked in on Y/n now!" You yelled. "And what's with this teasing me? You're Izuku right? Not that idiot Bakubro?"

"I CAN HEAR YOU EYEBAGS!" The explosion bitch screamed from his table.

"GOOD! I HOPE YOU DID DAMMIT!"

*
You sulked in front of your food, holding your hands up in thanks before begrudgingly grabbing your chopsticks. You wanted to continue studying during lunch, but Izuku still refused to return your textbook. He claims you needed a brain break or whatever that means.

"Give it back." You mumbled as they all talked about the practical of the exams.

You felt like there was no need in discussing this with them. Every year it was the same as the entrance exam, and if you really wanted to be sure then you could just sneak into your father's bedroom and search for the lesson plan.

"Ouch!"

Your eyes widened as you saw the aftermath of a tray colliding with Izuku's head. Your first instinct was to check if he was okay, but a part of you was grinning—believing this is karma for stealing your textbook.

"You're Monoma from class B, right? How dare you!"

"I hear you guys ran into the Hero Killer." His crazed eyes scanned across the four of you. He leaned in closer to his face and rubbed your head annoyingly. "I'm surprised a little twerp like you made it out alive."

You rolled your eyes as you batted his hand away. He must've still hated you after the sports festival.

Oh, he's monologuing about it now, yeah he definitely still hates you.

Monoma was cut off abruptly by a swift chop to the back of his head. "That's not nice! Didn't you hear what happened to Iida?" Kendo stood behind him with a disapproving glare.

"You're my hero." You sighed, leaning your head and arms against the back of your chair as you stared lovingly up at the girl.

She laughed. "Someone's gotta keep him in line. I heard you guys talking about the practical exam, between you and me I hear it's supposed to be a battle like the entrance exam."

"Huh? Really? How did you know that!?" Izuku exclaimed and Kendo beamed.

"I know an older student who told me, though I'm surprised you didn't ask Aizawa-San." She patted your head, frowning at your sleepy expression.

Izuku fired off a mumbling rant, including bits about how your were mad at him so asking you would probably be useless anyways.

"Kendo you fool we had an intel advantage over them." Monoma sulked as she began dragging him away. "This was our chance to show up the detestable class A."

"They're not detestable."

"You really gotta stop yelling at people you know." You said with a sigh, glancing up from your textbook you finally took back from Izuku, to speak to Bakugou.

Without looking at you, he placed his hand on the back of your head and redirected it towards your textbook. "Shut up and study eyebags."

"Damn everyone else is nagging me to quit and here you are using it to try and ignore me." With a wicked grin you closed the book and tucked it under your arm. "I think I can take a break, I'm studying with Momo later anyways." You waved your hand around dismissively.

"Why are you walking with me anyways!? Go find your dad or that damn nerd." He growled, shoving his hands in his pockets.

You shrugged. "I just missed you Bakubro."

"Impossible!"

"Fine." You rolled your eyes and pointed off in front of you. "I need to ride the train to get to Momo's."

He glared down at you, not believing a word you said. "Bullshit."

"I don't know what you want me to say Baku-"

He grabbed your wrist, holding it high and pulled you dangerously close to him. His face crept closer to yours, noses bumping ever so slightly. "Walking this way makes you look like you're going to his house." He gritted.

You looked away, not sure how to feel about the close proximity of his face. "I'm not."

"Tell me." He spoke, grabbing your chin and forcing you to look at him. "How come he gets to be Izuku but you're over here calling me Bakugou."

You gulped. "Actually I call you Bakubro but whatever you hear I guess-"

"Tell me."

Your brows furrowed and you yanked your arm out of his grasp. "I refuse to be apart of your competition with him." You took a step back. "See you later."
