Chapter 16

Helen raced into the village and looked around to see if her brother was around, while not letting her guard down, before continuing on. She came upon the forge and was surprised to find her foster father standing at the doorway looking up at the sky. "Father! You have to get out of the village! Now!" Helen shouted to catch her foster father's attention in hopes of letting him be spared.

"Helen! What are you doing here?! Your supposed to be in the Great Hall with the rest of the village," Stoick yelled out coming over to his foster daughter, worried for her sake.

"No dad! I know why there is thunder and lightning happening and it's not that Thor is angry. I have a powerful enemy and he is willing to kill every one of my last living birth relatives to get to me and become stronger. He's mostly the reason why you haven't found the nest yet and why you guys are at war with the dragons," Helen responded sternly looking around to see if her brother was around.

"Why didn't you say something?!" Stoick yelled out in horror over the thunder.

"It's my problem! I have to deal with it myself, it has nothing to do with you guys! I have to do this on my own! You must take shelter!" Helen shouted as the wind flapped wildly, making her braid and pieces of her hair flow around wildly in the wind, signaling that her brother was close.

"No! I'm not leaving you alone again Helen! You are my daughter and I love you my child! I cannot let you go!" Stoick yelled out making Helen look at him in shock before smiling and letting tears run down her face.

"I'm proud to call you my own because you've been fighting this battle of who you are for quite sometime and shows true leadership by putting yourself in danger to save your people. I couldn't be more prouder of you," Stoick continued a bit more calmly before smiling and saying, "I love you my daughter."

Helen choked on a sob before hugging her father around the neck and cried out a few more tears. "That's all I ever wanted to hear father," she whispered into his ear as she felt her father return the hug.

Suddenly the wind and thunder, plus the lightning, stopped making them both retract from the hug and look to their left to see a young man standing a few feet away from them clad in black from head to toe. The man had on a black hood that shadowed his entire face and had on a black cloak that went towards his feet. He wore black Viking boots, long black shirt, black pants, black gloves and a black cover across his mouth. Behind him was a dragon Helen, nor any other Viking, had ever seen before in their entire life. However, she had read about it and remembered what it was called. "The Red Death," she whispered scaredly.

"What?" Stoick asked turning his gaze away from the dragon and man to focus on his child.

"Back home, we had a book on every single dragon and that's one of them called the Red Death that can live forever and is a descendant of the King of Dragons. She's the one behind the raids and is controlling the dragons by instilling them with fear of her in order for them never to disobey her," Helen said back keeping her gaze on the enemies.

"Very nice my little sister, but it's a shame that you just had to remember that at the last moment cause now your village will have to be wiped out for your actions as no one is supposed to know about my friend here. However it will give me great pleasure in killing you," the man said in a smug voice removing his hood, cover, and cloak to show his muscles off to say that he is stronger than her and can beat her.

"Helen, who is that?" Stoick asked confused.

"Dad, meet my psychotic older brother that I used to look up to. Jean De Zela. My former hero and enemy," Helen said sarcastically getting in a battle stance.

Stoick stared at the two in shock cause the kids had no similarities cause Jean had dull brown hair while Helen had auburn, Jean had pale skin while Helen had an ivory skin tone, plus he also had a scar across his cheek and eye while Helen didn't seem to have any from dragon training at all. "Enough with the chit-chat! It's time to do what I should've done nearly ten years ago that I've been waiting for a long time!" Jean snarled out angrily as he took out both hands and formed a medium-sized ball of lightning between them.

"No!" Helen shouted in anguish before pulling herself in front of her foster father and formed a protective wall in front of both of them using her telekinesis powers.

The blast hit her wall making it crack a bit but Helen stood form and fired one her energy blasts, while pulling down her telekinesis wall, at her brother. He dogded and prepared another blast. "Get out of here dad now!" Helen shouted to her father as she formed up her wall again to block another blast.

But this time, Jean was prepared and fired his blast extra harder at Helen making the wall shatter and pushing Helen a few feet away from her father, making her scream in fright, and hit the wall of the house hard against her back. She groaned as she fell onto the ground face first and tried to get up but failed. Audun and his friends arrived when they saw Helen fly through the air a bit and hit the wall of the house and were in shock. "Helen!" They shouted in horror as her brother moved his way over to her prepared to finish her as she layed on the ground unmoving.

Stoick stared in horror at his foster child using powers to protect the both of them then take the full hit to be knocked a few yards away from him to his left. It was shocking to see his foster child have powers like the man who is her enemy. Hearing the kids call out to her as she laid unconscious on the ground as her death neared her, snapped him out of it before he took out his axe and threw it at the boy. The boy/Jean ducked, letting the axe fly over him and hit the ground a few yards away from him before he turned and prepared another blast to finish him off. "No!" Audun shouted preparing to throw his axe before a whistle sounded and a blast was shot at Jean throwing him a couple feet backwards.

Everyone, minus Jean and Helen, who were still recovering from their hits, turned to see Toothless standing there on all fours with Silvershadow hovering above him with her shadows wisping around her feet as both of them looked at Jean with anger in their eyes. Helen recovered and saw her foster father looking ready to kill her dragons and yelled "Father don't! They are on our side!"

Stoick looked at his foster daughter with a confused face before about to ask a question but Helen beat him to it saying, "They are my childhood friends from my birth home where Jean and I came from before it was destroyed when we used our resources beyond recovery."

Seeing Jean was getting up and ready, Helen stood up and yelled "Silvershadow! Attack the Red Death! Buy us some time and get some help from the dragons! Toothless! Protect the village! I have to finish this battle! Don't let Jean or any of his spies anywhere hear the villagers or my father and my friends."

The two dragons nodded their heads in obedience before Silvershadow took off into the sky to stall the Red Death for some time while Toothless placed himself in front of her friends as Jean prepared a blast towards them. In anger, Helen fired up one of her energy blasts and threw it at Jean with precise aim. It hit him in the shoulder making him stumble a couple feet away and shake off the blast. When he opened his eyes, they glowed red with anger before he use the wind to lift him up and prepare a strong lightning blast to his sister. In retaliation, Helen prepared her powers and glowed a beautiful forest green. He shot his lightning blast at Helen just as Helen shot her energy blast to him at the same time. The blasts met in the middle and kept going back towards Helen or back towards Jean.

Helen began to tire a bit, as she had never used this much power before in her life, but she held firm and poured more of her powers into the blast focusing solely onto stopping her brother. Jean poured all of his anger into his powers and pushed more than ever into his blasts before the blasts exploded causing the both of them to fall backwards onto the ground. The explosion was kind of closer to Helen than Jean so it pushed her backwards onto the ground in the middle of the village where the villagers, who left the Great Hall to see what the commotion was all about, stared at Helen's limp form with awe and worry. Audun has had enough of Jean's evilness and strode forward past Toothless, despite the dragons, and everyone else's, protest to not to, before standing bravely in front of Helen and held his axe forward in front of him ready to defend and protect Helen. "Leave her alone! She did nothing to you to begin with!" Audun shouted in anger making Helen look up at him, with her head a few feet in the air, and worry for him.

"Oh, please. She has done enough to pose a threat to our home the moment she was born!" Jean snarled at Audun while staring angrily at Helen.

Ruffnut was taken back by what that boy said about her friend and angrily strode forward to stand beside Audun shouting "You were a threat to your home not Helen! She has always been innocent and wished for peace just like y'alls parents!"

That made Jean made that he threw a lightning blast at Ruffnut, who quickly dogded to the ground with ease while Audun used the metal from his axe to block the blast and direct it back to Jean. It missed by a few but kept the Vikings out of harms way. "Don't you ever mention our parents! They were nothing but weak and afraid of the power I possessed! I had great ideas on how to save our planet, but they just wish to reject them because they were too out of their league!" Jean hissed at Ruffnut making the villagers angry as well as Helen.

Angrily, she stood up with little strength she had and strode forward until she stood beside Audun and helped Ruffnut to her feet. Her face went soft with a smile to her friend for a moment before turning to face her brother with an angry glare. She fired up one of her energy blasts and turned it into a glowing sword made of green flames. Jean smirked evilly before making a sword, made of purple flames, of his own. The both of them walked forward towards each other before Helen made the first move by slashing upwards at him, with an angry yell, while Jean smashed his sword downwards in hopes of making her strength fail.

Knowing his tactic, Helen slashed her sword upwards, with all her strength, yet again and spun out of the way, as he made a move to slash diagonally, before stopping and holding her sword outwards away from her body in a straight manner. Jean charged at Helen angrily slashing his sword sideways only for Helen to block him swiftly before punching him in the stomach hard with her left hand, making him stumble backwards a few inches away from her, and advancing forward. She made the sword disappear and spun a 360o degree circle kicking him hard in the stomach with a hard grunt. Jean fell down to the ground with a hard thud before kicking his feet out in a half circle, making Helen trip by his feet and land onto the ground herself before using his balance to swing himself upwards and grin triumphantly at his win.

Helen opened her eyes angrily and used her telekinesis to blast him backwards into a house hard. She got up a bit in pain before assuming a fighting position with both her hands curled up in fists and one of the pointed downwards at the ground while the other one was pointed upwards close to her face. Jean slowly, and painfully, made his way out of the house and fired up another one of his blasts before being grabbed by Helen's telekinesis powers and being thrown across and landing onto the grassy clearing where they first started their fight to begin with.

"All my life. All my life you were the one that was my hero. But now, you are here as the enemy going mad with a rage for power and I can bet that your followers are the ones you created using the forbidden dark arts incorporated from the dark powers of the Lescrese," Helen said angrily before continuing as she glowed a brightly dim forest green color as she walked forwards towards her brother, "You have committed treason beyond recovery with murder of your own relatives and the dark powers used of the dark arts of the Lescrese. For that you are to be punished with the worst even I could give."

Her hair glowed with her entire body and came out of its braid to flow with the wind her powers combined as she glared angrily at her brother with her headband glowing brightly signaling her heritage while her powers glowed brightly with a glowing color etched into it signaling her ancestors approval of her decision. "Really? What are you gonna do? Banish me to our home planet for all eternity? That's nothing but a wasteland now sister," Jean snarled at his sister, while sitting up painfully and firing up his powers to take his sister down once and for all.

"No, in the name of my ancestors and all others before them, I hereby banish you to the evil place where you shall never find a way out, never have your powers with you, never be seen by anyone, never be given kindness by anyone, and shall never return to this realm or any other realm in this entire universal being. There you shall remain without a life, no wife, and no children that you can never adopt nor have and if you try to escape, you'll only find your way back to the same spot back to where you started. I, Helen De Zela Haddock, banish you, Jean De Zela, to the evil realm hidden within our blown up world and shall remain there for all eternity with the rest of the villains till the end of your days," Helen declared in a voice that sounded like the woman she would become glowing brighter and brighter with each word spoken until she looked like she was a glowing being from Valhalla.

Jean prepared to use his powers but Helen beat him to it by thrusting her energy blasts forward towards him and hit him in the chest with precise aim making cry out in agony and vanish before their very eyes in a flash of bright green dust. The glow from her body died as she breathed in and out laboringly, as she lowered her arms to her sides, and kept her eyes on the spot of where her brother used to be. "Helen, you did the right thing," her father's voice said snapping her out of it as she looked up to see Stoick standing there with a proud expression on his face.

A tear escaped from her right eye as she breathed in sadly saying, "I only hope to know that it was the right thing to do and that my parents approve."

"Well we all do because you saved us from your brother," Ruffnut said as she came forward and placed a hand on Helen's left shoulder while smiling happily at her.

"Yah, we all do except for that big angry dragon there," Snotlout said pointing at something behind them making Helen and the others turn to see the Red Death trying to get the dragons, that are distracting it, out of the way by angrily swiping at them all while they dodged her claws the best they could.

"Shoot! Toothless, we gotta help them!" Helen shouted to her dragon as she made her way over to her childhood best friend and climbed onto his saddle, prepared to fight that dragon to end this war.

"Helen wait! You haven't had enough experience with flying on Toothless yet! You'll crash and die!" Audun shouted at Helen with worry etched on his face as he stayed at his spot watching as Helen prepared for the final battle of the war.

"Guess I'll have to rely on my instincts to help me out. Wish me luck!" Helen shouted readying Toothless to jump up into the air to fly up into the air into the battle going on.

"Helen wait!" Stoick yelled out, in a soft tone, grabbing onto her arm gently, catching her attention, making her look down at him from her spot, before continuing, in a softer tone, "I'm sorry, for...for everything I've done these past 9 years. You don't have to go up there to prove yourself."

"I'm sorry for lying to you too dad but I have to go up there. We're all Vikings. It's an occupational hazard," Helen said back to her father with a soft smile.

"I'm proud to call you my daughter, no matter where you came from. You are always gonna be my daughter," Stoick said gently as he covered his hand, holding gently onto Helen's arm, gently as he said those words before letting go and taking a couple steps back to let her know that he trusts her completely.

Helen was shocked emotionally for a moment before her face broke out into a huge smile before saying softly, "Thanks dad. You too are always gonna be my father, no matter how different we are," and held onto the saddle rings tightly as Toothless took off into the sky ready for the next part of the battle that will end this war between Vikings and Dragons once and for all.
