Rosa's Pov

The outdoor exam day was finally here and I can't even describe how tired I was. My friends and I had gone to a graduation dinner with our parents and stayed there until late. The food was too much for me to handle and I was falling asleep after all that dessert!

The surprising thing about it was Ethan had came almost halfway through it. He took everyone by surprise and apologized for his horrible ways of treating them. He even bowed over and over to me, apologizing over and over, even if I forgave him! He asked me to hit him, but that won't make me forgive him even more! Besides! I already hit him on Kris's request...

The next morning came and I was about to leave the house with my Victini invisible and Zorua as a little girl before Hilda stopped me with N in the living room.

"Good luck today, girl" she told me. She picked something up from where her feet was and walked over with the box she had yesterday "Don't forget to take your second gift" I waved my hands nervously.

"Why did you give me two gifts? The plant was enough!" I bowed to N "and thank you again for the gift! I was able to help my friends and save Victini!" He waved.

"Don't worry about it. It's the least I can do. You are my little sister after all" I wanted to squeal excitedly and looked at Hilda raising her brow at me before handing me the box. I kneeled down so I could open it, seeing an egg inside.

"I've received this as a gift for my new movie I directed before. I have a full party and you need more Pokémon, so I'm giving it to you!" She smiled.

"Hilda... You're serious?!" I gasped, gently taking the egg. She smiled happily "T-Thank you so much!" Victini showed herself to place her hand on the shell and Zorua touching it her small human hand "It's so warm... I feel a lot of moving!"

"Looks like it's going to hatch soon" Hilda said "You be good to it and get yourself a trainer card! Travel as much as your heart wants to" I hugged the egg and bowed to them both.

"Thank you so much! I'm definitely wide awake now! I'll be going now! Nate is waiting for me!" I ran out and saw Nate talking to Hilbert "hey!" I jogged over to them "look what Hilda got me! Isn't it cool!?" Nate smiled.

"Cool! An egg!" He put his hand on it "It's going to hatch soon!"

"I'm so excited!" Hilbert chuckled.

"It's nice to see you two like this again" he pet Nate's head "Get going, little man. Show your classmates how you learned everything from your big brother" Nate sweatdropped and moved him away so he could stand by my side.

"Whatever man" Nate chuckled, holding my shoulders from behind "Rosa and I are going to travel Unova, right?" I blushed.

"Y-You still want to?" As kids, Nate always dreamed of going on a adventure with me and Hugh. Today, I would think everyone wanted to take their own path, but it seems that Nate still wants to come with me! I don't want to push him, but I'm glad he asked.

"Duh! If you want" he then blushed. I giggled and nodded.

"If you put it that way, then yes!" We smiled at each other for a short while, almost not hearing Hilbert clear his throat. We jumped and looked away.

"Okay love birds. Off you go. Don't be late or you won't get your trainer card until later" I looked at Zoey climbing my shoulder in her true form and felt Victini in invisible form sitting on my head. Nate and I held each other's hands soon after I put my egg in my bag and we were on the way to Hugh's house.

"I can't believe we went this entire school year, well... the whole time since I came back to Aspertia... never getting involved with each other because of misunderstandings. It's strange now we're holding hands..." I smiled at our hands locked together.

"It's like we went back to where we left off" he chuckled.

"I'm sorry I was never brave enough to tell you how I felt" I said and looked down.

"No, I was the one that started it off. If I wasn't being selfish and feeling insecure about what people thought of me, I would had still had you as my girl" I blushed hard and cupped my face.

"Y-Your girl..?"

"Yeah! You were always my girl! Don't you remember?" I took a deep breath.

"I guess I blocked that memory to keep myself from getting hurt" I took out my necklace that had my little plastic ring that doesn't fit me anymore "I wish I had apologized to you for keeping you from your studies" he picked up my hand and kissed my knuckle.

"I wonder if I wasn't failing, you would still think that way... Even if I laughed at you, something like that wouldn't had made you hate me. You're too kind and forgiving" he rubbed his nose slightly turning red "I would had wondered if I would had still behaved the way I did"

"I knew you were faking it" he looked surprised "but I was so sure you hated me that I didn't think anything of it. I just thought you wanted to do it. I don't know. I was little"

"I took after my brother" he rubbed his head "He told me when he was growing up, he cared about what people thought about him all the time. He never got the chance to do anything he liked to do, which was writing. He didn't live his school days happy, and Hilda always encouraged him to do so. He was starting to get more confident until she moved away. I didn't know this at the time, but I found out those bruises and cuts on his face was the result in bullying. I didn't want to turn out like that, but if I was just a bit more confident, I can prevent that without needing to hide what I like" I smiled.

"And what you like is cute things! Like Audino!" He chuckled and nodded "I feel like anything like that will be made fun of no matter where you go, but as long as you endure it, you can make something out of that. If you had a Audino, you can show that cute can also be strong!" He just chuckled "Recently, I just discovered that I'm a lot like my sister. She holds in her emotions just like I did. I always thought she was outgoing and open, but it turns out that she's kept some serious things in her heart. I kept my burdens in to prevent people from worrying. I helped others so they can be happy, and I never befriended them because I didn't want to be their disappointment and get abandoned again" I held my heart "If I was just a little more open... Would things be different?" He took my hand again.

"We all wish we could've done something when we were kids, but we learn. We forgive and forget. I spend the rest of my life after you left to become the best person I can be and become everyones friend, but I faked so many emotions. I didn't even care about going out with so many girls. I faked it all..." I looked at him stop walking "I lacked full emotions and if I didn't have friends, I would had been as stiff as a board. I was pretty stiff when you yelled at me back in the library, to be honest with you"

"Because of me you became stiff like a board?" I frowned "I-I'm sorry" he waved his hands.

"It's okay. You were right to yell at me. I went at you so suddenly when I was trying to defend Hugh after what happened at his house. I knew how concerned he was... I was in that house and held you in my arms when you were passed out" that warm and affection feeling was him..? "And even then when I was able to find the guts to talk to you, I wish I said the right things"

"I see..." I smiled "You know... I feel like we have to thank Dawn for trying so hard. I wish she tried this hard last year or something" he chuckled, telling the story of how she found out we were a thing before. I blushed, never thinking that they were watching me from the supermarket! Is that why she likes giving me chocolate!?

"H-How embarrassing!" I nervously laughed "But look at us now!" I smiled "I got my best friend back! It's like what happened between us never happened!"

"I'll say" he snorted "It was so weird how Ethan came to the graduation dinner, apologizing to everyone. I never thought I'd see the day" he smiled at me "but that's because you did something incredible for him. You really went out of your way to help others. You've became malnourished for the sake of research" he pet my head "You did a lot, so you don't have to do something that crazy again" I nodded.

"I got to help Kris and Ethan. I even got my Pokémon back! I'm more than happy" I took both his hands "I'm so happy my life is turned back around" he blushed as hard as I did. We heard someone clear their throat. We turned to see Hugh looking a bit disgusted while his little sister stared with sparkles in her eyes.

"What's this?! What's this!!" Jenny gasped at us, running over to circle around us "A prince and a princess is together!" My heart jumped "Amazing! It's like looking at a fairy tale!" Hugh grabbed her head.

"Calm down, it's just Nate and Rosa"

"But I didn't know they were a couple!" I looked away from Nate, feeling all shy and flustered.

"Well?" Hugh looked at us "are you?" Nate and I looked at each other for a moment before turning away again.

"I can't really say for sure..." he looked back at me while I glanced over "but I promise I'll get you a real ring you can actually wear" something ran down my nose. I wiped my nose and panicked when I saw blood "Rosa?"

"Nothing!" I heard Zorua giggling in my bag next to my egg. Victini patted my head "L-Let's just go to school already" I calmed myself and cleaned myself off.

"What Pokémon are you going to use? That little Furball there?" Hugh pointed at my bag "I did request a battle from you, remember?" Oh!

"That's right!" I looked at Zorua looking a bit confused "actually, I'm going to use the Pokémon I've been waiting for for years now!"

"You're going to use that Pokémon? What was it again? I barely saw it" Nate asked.

"You never told us what it was" Hugh said.

"What Pokémon? This one?" Jenny pointed at Zorua. Zorua got annoyed and tried biting her, but failed. I winked at the boys.

"That's a secret you'll have to wait for!"

"Doesn't it need more time to recover?" Nate asked.

"No" I smiled "The recipe I used had very powerful materials. She's as well as she was before!" I took both the boys hands "Come on! I want to go see everyone!" Jenny cheered and took the lead to school.

It was surprising to know that all our friends were in the outdoor final on the same day as us. A lot of things have been made to turn out to be coincidences and I'm not sure how to feel about that, but I'm happy I get to be with everyone a day before they start leaving. Nate, Hugh, and I can start our adventure soon after.

Instead of entering the school, we were told to enter through the back where the battlefield took place. Since it was the end of the school year, preschool children come to this school for daycare.

Our friends were already sitting on the side benches, waiting for everything to start. Everyone in our class who graduated with us were around the field, talking to each other with their Pokémon on their side.

"Guys!" Brendan yelled, waving "over here!" Jenny went over to greet everyone while I let go of the boys so we could approach them together, though I continued holding Nate's hand.

"Wow! Look at that" May smirked at us "Are you sure you guys weren't together the whole time?" Nate and I turned red.

"It's like this whole misunderstandings of 'oh she hates me' and 'oh he hates me' never happened" Serena sneakered. Zorua jumped out my bag and transformed into a human girl.

"Was that a thing? I thought they were always close!" Zoey gasped.

"If you only knew" Dawn giggled "there was even a time when Nate would often stare at Rosa that he forgot where he was"

"Hey!" Nate glared, making everyone laugh at us. I smiled and hugged Nate's arm, happy that it feels like our misunderstanding never happened.

"I'm glad you two are fine now, but what's more important is to listen to the other instead of your insecurities. For all you know, you may witness a misunderstanding again without explaining yourself or listening to the other person. We'll be back to where we started" Calem leaned on his knees.

"Everyone here had a meeting a while back about how you two will end up together" Hugh admit "It was pretty childish" Nate and I flinched, looking at him.

"W-Was that was it was?! When everyone was at the library!?" Nate gasped. I gasped after realizing it myself, then smiled.

"You put a lot of effort. Thank you for pushing us" I bowed to everyone. They smiled.

"We're glad to see Nate actually happy instead of faking it" Brendan said.

"Y-You knew that?" Nate asked.

"Well, you didn't seem like you tried hiding it when you played games sometimes" Nate sweat dropped.

"Aside from that, you just always freak out when Rosa was mention in a conversation" Barry said.

"And when you two walk by each other, she was the only one you never look at, and often look really sad right after" Lucas said, eating a sandwich.

"Don't you stop eating!?" Serena glared, snatching the other half of his sandwich to eat.

"Hey!" Lucas reached out to take it back, but she was already eating it.

"Serena!" Calem tried fighting to get it back.

"It's just a sandwich, Lucas!" May cried out "She's helping you out from overeating!"

"Let him eat his food!" Barry jumped the herd.

"Oh my..." Dawn facepalmed.

"Gotta love this friend group" Brendan laughed. I looked at Nate rubbing the back of his head.

"You got yourself a bunch of cool friends" I said. He looked at me, making everyone else stop to listen "I wish I opened my eyes sooner. I wouldn't have been in my room all the time by myself since I came back. Again, I'm sorry for rejecting everyone before" Dawn jumped up and hugged me.

"Don't worry about it! We're all friends now! And even if we just started becoming official friends, I'm glad I'm able to leave with a happy memory!" Everyone agreed.

"Yo!" We looked over when hearing Ethan call at us, walking our way with a large smirk on his face and a backwards cap on his head, walking next to Kris on a wheelchair.

"Who's that?" Brendan asked.

"Well, if you're not wearing that hat that makes you look like you have white hair, you'd be unrecognizable" Serena stuck her tongue out at him. I waved to the two approaching us.

"It's good to see you two all lively like this" I smiled.

"It's good to finally be able to open my eyes" Kris smiled "Your city looks a lot different than how I saw it when I was a kid. It's wonderful"

"You sure you should be out the hospital so soon?" May frowned.

"Don't worry! Rosa's remedy was the perfect medicine to bring me up again! I still have difficulties walking, but I'm working on it"

"We wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for you, Rosa" Ethan bowed to me "Thank you for everything" I waved my hands.

"N-No! I was just doing it for the kindness of my heart!" I took a deep breath and crossed my arms "besides, I did tell you you'll regret messing with me" his face turned blue, looking nervous and looked away.

"I do regret it... I couldn't think of anything else and I used anything to make myself feel better. When you mentioned that you'll make me regret messing with you... I didn't think you mean it by doing it emotionally" I nervously laughed.

"Well, Yeah!" I pouted "Shame on you!" Kris giggled as Ethan rubbed the back of his head.

"I know... I owe you my life"

"I really don't know who that is" Barry said to Lucas "He's so nice and looks so calm now!"

"Even his eyes are gentle now" Lucas mumbled with his mouth full. All the comments everyone was making were making Ethan get all red. He looked at Nate and Brendan once before looking down.

"I didn't get to say this the other night, but thanks for keeping me from doing something stupid... and staying by my side this whole time, even if I didn't deserve it" Nate patted his shoulder.

"Well, how could I leave you? Aside from knowing what you've been through, you did save my life" I looked at Nate confused.

"Well, because of what I did" Ethan glanced at me. Thinking it over made my blood sink "I'll be watching everyone battle from here. I look forward to see how you battle, Rosa" he smiled at me. I quickly nodded and made my way to sit down on the edge of the benches so I could sit next to Kris setting her wheelchair on the edge, waiting for the outdoor exam to begin.
