When Jack and Dave went to get Crutchy out of the refuge they came back empty handed. We were currently standing in front of the news stand. Everybody starred singing and dancing except for me and Les. Les is like my younger brudder. The boys formed a newsies barricade in front of the stand but when the carriage came out they separated so they wouldn't get hit  "Ok everybody remain calm." "Soak em for Crutchy!" Everybody ran in but I took les and ran into the shadows and hid or I thought I hid.

Then the cribs came. Jack was in the circle of them with Race and David. Then everybody attacked. That's when Oscar came up behind me and his brudder Morris came and took Les from my grasp. "Thought you could get away didn't you?" Oscar then decided to attack me. He hit punched kicked every part of me. I was laying on the ground with blood coming from my face and Les was unconscious from Morris hitting him on the head with his elbow. The Delancy's were about to finish me of but Race saw what was happening and tried to come and help me but Jack help him back but that's when Brooklyn showed up. They started to hit the cribs and scabbers with rocks. Oscar went to beat the hell out of Les. When he started to kick him I started screaming. "NO STOP YOUR HURTING HIM! AHHHHHHHHHHHH NO LES SOMEONE HELP HIM!"

Spot heard my screaming and rushed over to me. He punched kicked and whacked the shit outa Morris and Oscar. When Spot scared them away he came and pulled me to his chest and started crying. Everybody looked at him shocked. The Spot Conlon never cried. Les woke up but remembered nobody but me. David looked heartbroken while Race looked at me crying. When Spot was done crying he helped me up off the ground. Les looked frightened and ran to me. I looked at David who was crying. "David I'm sorry if he doesn't remember you, but don't be upset with me about it." "YOU! Loony this is all your fault I never should have let you take him to the Brooklyn bridge or get close to him! He is MY brother not yours you have a brother he's all you need. You should have stayed locked up in Pulitzer's basement it would have been better in the first place if you hadn't been born! YOU LOUSY SELFISH LITTLE CRAZY BITCH!"

I had tears in my eyes, then he did the worst thing anybody could have done to a goil. He slapped me. There was now a bright red hand print on my face. I gave Les to Spot and ran. Race, Jack, Boots, Mush, and Spot yelled after me but I ran from the Brooklyn bridge to God knows where. It felt like hours before I came to a stop. I had enough money to bored the train to Texas. I hope they know it was for their own good. But then I ran into the governor Teddy Roosevelt. He saw me with a hand print on my face and tears running down my face. "My child what has happened?" I told him the whole story from when I escaped to the yelling. I didn't tell him about the newsies strike or where I was held. He said he would give me a ride anywhere but the only place I wanted to be was the Brooklyn bridge. It was a quiet ride bit when we got there I saw shadows. Two of them I got out of the carriage and walked to the edge of the bridge ready to jump when I overheard the voices. "Luna was the most caring person in the world when she went missin it broke all of us she was the glue that held us all together and without her wes back in the same spot wes was in when she went missing the first time."

I would know that voice anywhere, it was Race. "Race I'm sorry if you didn't want her to date anybody but I loved her. God Luna was amazing. I would come here every sunset and watch her watch it. The way the reflection of the colors from the water would light up her face. She was beautiful in every way. No matter what happens I will always love her." I couldn't take it anymore when they turned around in my direction I ran to Spot jumped onto his arms and kissed him. His reaction was priceless. Buy he soon kissed back. I pulled away to see his eyes flutter open. "I love you Spot Conlon forever and always. I  so sorry for running off like that it was just too much-" He cut me off with a kiss.

"Yous talks to much you knows that?" I jumped down off of Spot and hugged Race. He was crying but they were happy tears. We walked back to the news boy lodge house and Race and Spot walked in with a smile on their face. Everybody started asking questions on what  they were smiling cause they had just lost me when Spot walked out and grabbed me and pulled me in. They all came and hugged me but Les wasn't there. "He's up in your bed." Race whispered in my ear. I walked up to the beds to find Les clutching my old teddy bear from when I was little. "Les you wanna play 20 questions?" When I asked him the question he turned around and hugged me. "I thought you . would never come back" "I'll never leave you kid." That night we fell asleep with Les in my arms and his head on my chest.
