Samuel's POV

I came to my senses in a small dorm room. I recognised the woman next to me as the girl from the caves. I was frightened and bewildered at my surroundings as I tried to gain full consiousness.

"Excuse me! Who are you? Where am I?", I asked the woman.
"Hello Samuel, You are safe with me. I am Lilly, private investigator. I think you might understand that I have a few questions, yes?", she said as she examined my wounded arm.

"Oh erm, How do you know my name?, is this about Mara?", I whispered, not sure if I was safe.

"We don't have a lot of time but I'll get you bandaged up and we can go to my place to figure this all out.", she replied, authoratatively. But I trusted her since I didn't have a choice. After, she helped me get to my feet, we walked, slowly to a resort.

"Here we are", she said as she gestured for me to walk into her room.
I kept quiet as we sat down at the small desk.

"Where do you live? And make sure not to lie.", she asked
I hesitated. I knew I couldn't lie. This would be my last chance to redeem myself after my horrible mistake and potentially find Mara.
"P-179, The Peabody's Cottage", I whispered

She typed on her phone and smiled a sly smile.
"Who do you live with?"
"My mom", I said
"What's your mom's name?"
I didn't know the answer to the question. I have always known I was adopted by a kind woman but it never occured to me that I didn't know her name. I had seen her slowly turn into a monster, my entire life, but I had never called her anything other than Miss.
"I don't know.", I said, embarrassed.

"Oh.. hmm. Tell me about your family", she commanded.
"I was adopted and I live with my mother and her caretaker but I've never known any of their names", I said.

"Why were you in the caves when I found you?"
"um, m- m- Miss and her accomplices punished me because I didn't finish a job.", I whispered slowly

"Miss?", asked Lilly, as if she had no idea what I was saying.
"My mother always told me to call her Miss. That's what everyone calls her", I shrugged.

"Okay Sam, This may take a while, This is way more complicated than I judged it to be.", she sighed as she asked the next question. 

"How do you know Mara?"
The most difficult question of them all. Just as I started forming the words to say, Lilly's cellphone rang.

"Excuse me", she said as she walked away to take the call

Lilly's POV

My phone rang in the middle of making some very important discoveries.

"Hello?", I said

"Lilly! You okay?", Daniel was panting as he spoke.

"What Happened Daniel? I thought it was over? I don't have time to deal with this right now", I said, even though I missed him more than ever.

"Lilly! No! I realised how important Mara is to you, to us, plus I got rejected from another job. With nothing much better to do I decided to come to Bali! Now, I'm outside your hotel room! Let ME IN!, he screeched through the phone just as I heard the same voice outside the room.

"WHAT? I'm in the middle of something, Daniel. Check into a new room and I'll meet you outside in an hour", I sighed. 'He is so unpredictable', I thought as I took a seat next to a pale and worried Sam. Just as I was about to ask him the next question, Daniel opened the door.

Daniel's POV

I knew what I did was wrong. Mr. Hopkins and I understood that we were both overwhelmed so we decided to go to therapy and work our issues out. I, now, fully worried for the safety of my sister, frantically scrambled to Bali but just as I come to my senses, Lilly tells me to wait? 

I couldn't wait so I burst through the door to see Lilly talking to a young man.

"WHAT IN THE NAME OF LORD is going on here?", I cried at the two of them.

"Oh God! Sam, give me another minute, stay her. DANIEL! come with me, outside", she screamed at us.

"Who is he?", I said

"Samuel Peabody, the only lead I have so far in Mara's case. He decided to confess and I'm interrogating him so that we can finally figure out where the heck Mara is! Now, only if you wouldn't interfere I could finally figure out this whole mess", Lilly spoke hurriedly and angrily. I started feeling a bust of anger pulse through my body but I suppressed it and did what I thought I could do to help.

"I'll stay out of your way but just know, We need to find my sister", I whispered as I went down to the lobby to get another room.

Lilly's POV

Daniel surprised both himself and me with his maturity but this was no time to think about us. I smiled quickly as I headed back into the interrogation.

"I loved Mara and she loved me. That's the only way I can explain how I know her", Sam said quietly under his breath.

"Do you know what this means?", I asked as I showed him the letter from the cult of the Grangers.

"What? Oh!", Sam reacted to the letter as his face fell from surprise to agony.
"Someone is after my Miss.", he said.

"I don't have much time. You have to tell me everything you know before--", I was saying just as we heard gunshots and screamed.

"DUCK!", screamed Sam as we both hid under the table.
