The Grangers'
Daniel's POV
I knew it.
I knew Lilly would run after Mara like she always does.
I just happen to be her boyfriend, but she won't even care about me when Mara is in danger or whatever.
I went for my job interview and lo and behold! I was rejected. Again. It's almost as if the entire world goes against me whenever Mara leaves.
Samuel's POV
I had been reading Mara's diary and occasionally trying to free myself from the rock prison that she had once escaped.
I found out that she thought of us as a couple. Don't get me wrong, so did I, but not for long. When Miss told me what plans Mara had laid out for me, I freaked and decided to obey Miss. I should have known better. Why would Mara, my Mara, try to put me in front of the media? Why would she even try to harm my reputation? Why would she leave me? All of these questions ideally should have coursed through my mind before I decided to obey Miss's orders but she made it sound so real and convincing, almost as if her voice was hypnotising..
Lilly's POV
I had just reached the hotel "Bali Beachside Resort".
Pretty generic name, Check.
Fake identity, Check.
Mara's last known whereabouts, Check.
Now all I needed was to check Mara's "Find my phone" app to lead me to a location.
The last time she texted me from Bali was a month ago, I open my phone to trace the text. It was,
"Lilly, I don't like to be on my phone when I'm here, but I just want to let you know that I'm okay and that I'm probably not gonna be back."
I remembered the day like the back of my hand, the only time I ever yelled at Daniel for not being good enough. I tracked the text to a small beach next to a remote village. I was off to P-179, The Peabody's Cottage...
Mara's POV
"Miss.", I heard a whisper in the middle of the night.
"Who is it? Violet? Is that you?", I asked groggily as I shifted a little in my uncomfortable bed,
"Miss?",replied a high pitched voice.
I ran across the room to turn on the lights, just as the dim lighting flickered on, I saw a young boy staring up at me, clothes spotted in colorful paint.
"AH!", I screamed at the astonishing sight. "Miss, I have to bring this to yah.", Said the boy in a southern accent as he handed me a small red envelope and he left just as quickly as he came, leaving a trail of acrylic behind. I opened the envelope to find something horrendous staring back at me, never to be forgotten.
