A Glass Of Water Will Do

Dedicated to ate HannahRedspring

John 19:28:
Later, knowing that everything had now been finished and that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”

Let me test you by putting yourself in this scenario. What if you saw a man in the street asking for your one bottle of water that you bought from the store because you were really thirsty? Like you purposely bought it and you need to drink it or else you will be dehydrated or anything. Are you going to give that bottle of water to that man or let him find water to drink on his own?

Whatever we do in life or in a day of our lives, we can't deny that we can't live without water. We can't go a day without water. We always ask for that when we are thirsty. When we eat, we need to drink. When we do some workouts, we need to drink. When we are doing chores or walking amidst the fervid sun, we always ask for water, even begging to drink it. Why is that? We all know that our bodies badly need it. And we need to sustain that in order for us to live, to feel relief, or to survive.

But have you remembered that God is thirsty too, like us? Let's just say that that man who asked for your water earlier was God, and you hesitated to give it to Him. What are you feeling after knowing it? Maybe you will think that if you know directly if he is God and is not disguising himself, I will let him drink my water. Am I right? How funny and sad it is at the same time. Well, that's the reality.

In His seven last words, it was written in the sixth word, "I thirst" (John 19:28). He is thirsty after the sacrifices He makes to save us from our sins. Despite everything He gave and sacrificed on the cross, He just asked for water because He was thirsty, and what's worse? He needs to beg just for that water. But God, even though we haven't said a word yet, will surely save us without a doubt.

But, honestly, God doesn't only need water to feed His thirsty for the reason that He also thirsts and longs for our love, faith, trust, and anything that can fulfill avidity.

A Glass of water will do to quell our thirst. God needs that too. A strong faith, undying love, and lively trust will also feed Him.

Huwag nating hayaang mauhaw ang Panginoon. If He can sustain our needs, tubig man ito o kung ano pa, nawa'y huwag din nating ipagkait sa Kaniya ang palagi niyang hinihiling sa atin.

A Glass of water will do. Trusting God without fear or hesitation will also save you.
