Part One: A Bad Omen
Kai is a furred dragon, most of his body is pure black, the fur around his eyes being a dark gray. His ears were similar to that of a cat, the fur on the inside of his ears was also dark gray, his wings looked feathery and were gray apart from the body part that they were connected to which was black, he had a slightly long tail with a gray tip. His talons were morelike paws, the tips of his paws also being a dark gray. His nose, as in, the tip of his snout, was a dark gray as well.
Kai woke up on a grassy field, the sun was high in the sky but it wasn't hot. The grass was slightly tall, reaching up to his knees but it wasn't rigid at all, it actually felt nice against his fur. White clouds scattered across the sky, and the lands were flat as far as the eye could see, unsure of how he got here, he got up, trying to think where he fell asleep, last he'd recalled he had fallen asleep at home. Deciding it best not to panic, he started to wander along the planes.
After a bit of walking, the skies darkened unnaturally quick with dark heavy clouds covering it as it began to start raining and pouring, lightning striking all around, scared he began to run, reaching a forest area, he didn't recall seeing but he didn't bother waste time thinking about it as he continued to run, afraid of being struck; but that wasn't the only thing that sent fear through his body, it was the sudden sense of dread and danger that sparked it even further.
The fear, like the shockwave it was, propelled him forward, he began to hear chanting as he sprinted through the woods. "Take the one of ancient blood, let him become our power; let him be the last of them, take his being and shatter his soul." A chilling voice chanted, the chants growing louder no matter where he ran, so once he saw a small crawlspace, he hid in it. The chanting stopped a second later. His body began to calm down, with the adrenaline slowly dissipating. However he only got a couple moments of reprieve before suddenly a face appeared in front of him, it was a figure in a black cloak, the face was human, from what he could see it looked like a young woman, but he didn't get to see much as the second her head appeared in front of him he was startled awake, waking up in a cold sweat, with labored breathing, and a pounding heart, he looked around his room in a panic, gathering his bearings and analyzing his room to help calm himself down, at this time he was really young. The room, well, let's be honest, it was a hole in a cave, and his bed was an alcove in that cave, though the room was round and had some trinkets on a wooden stump that had been separated from its roots and put next to the alcove, one of those trinkets was a jade necklace that, despite his protests, his parents made him wear, the beads were a clear marble, the part on both sides where the beads would connect to the part holding the crystal was a silver piece shaped like a fire, having 3 sections that were colored differently, the outer most section of the fire was blue like ice, the middle one was a mixture of white and gray, and the inner most part was colored like fire, the flame shaped piece was conntected to the part holding the jade crystal rather then strung on the rope that held the beads, the jade green crystal usually glowed he hated the necklace, mainly because his parents made him wear it whenever he went to go outside. After he had settled, the chanting from his nightmare was playing over and over again in his head, one thing that stood out to him was something that was said in his very realistic feeling nightmare: "Take the one of ancient blood."
He knew better than to take anything in a dream as anything real but he couldn't help but feel like that was somehow important, considering he could clearly remember it. So he decided to ask his parents about it, so, afraid he might forget if he was too late he did the only sensible thing one could do in that moment. He ran to his parents 'room' not noticing the crystal wasn't glowing like it always did and yelled to wake his parents up up, since it was very early morning they were still asleep. "Ma! Dad!" He yelled in a desperate attempt to wake them up as quickly as possible.
