Part 8: Flashback, the wicken deal

Many years ago, while King Alphius reigned

Crown prince Yamo was rather eager to challenge his tyrannical father for the crown, though he was not strong enough to defeat him or rather didn't think he was and all the light witches and wizards wouldn't help him due to fear, so he turned to a dark witch named Valeena. She was already skilled with her magic at this time but she wasn't as powerful as she would become in the future, and despite being a dark witch, at the time, she was a good person who was merely curious in the dark arts and enjoyed them more, found it more entertaining. Being Royalty Yamo could speak to all kinds of creatures including human which is how he was able to go to witches to begin with, and this particular one also understood the draconic language as well as a couple other languages, so she could understand dragons as well regardless. "What do you need, young prince?" The witch asked, though she could easily take a guess, looking into his eyes. "I need strength, I need power so that I may challenge my father and end his reign." "I could increase your power with some blood magic, however, in return, all I require is a favor from you at the time of my choosing, and if you fail to deliver, I will get to take what I want from you or your kingdom."

The witch said with a dark grin, the grin was just her trying to mess with him, see if he was willing to go any lengths to get what he wanted even disregarding caution, not that she cared really, she was curious what he was willing to do, testing his willpower. "Deal." Yamo agreed, shaking her outstretched hand, some binding contractual magic going between her hand and his claw. "Now, I just require a drop of your blood, some DNA from an already powerful creature, and the undying will to obtain a goal requiring such strength, which you have that." Valeena explained, "DNA from your father would do since he's much stronger than you and also a royal dragon, not just any royal dragon either, but the king." "I have one of his scales, ripped it off of him while he slept, don't ask how I got out of his room undetected." Yamo told her tossing it to her. She smirked and handed him a small bowl, "Drop a few drops of blood into her." She instructed him.

Yamo bit into his claw to draw blood, not much though, droping more than just 3 drops, figuring it'd strengthen the spell. "Good." The with stated, extending the word. She put the scale into the bowl and started to chant, the ingredients mixed together in the bowl rapidly before dissipating into a sort of gas like substance which enveloped the young prince's body before dissappearing completely. Despite no visual changes, he felt stronger, much stronger, like he could take down his tyrannical father in three hits. "Now, before you run off to usurp the throne, I will warn you, the spell is not permanent. It'll only last until Kryva, essentially, the end of this alignment quart." The witch told the dragon.

"I'll keep that in mind, thank you for your help." Yamo stated gratefully before flying off. Though dark magic has its uses, the effects on the caster, aren't so nice, blood magic having the worst, most adverse effects. The witch started to breath heavily, sweating and keeling over, she could feel dark energy surging through her, corruptive as it was it always felt strangely good, though the side effects, not so much, it felt empowering and so simple yet complex. The thing about dark magic is that it will always slowly taint and corrupt the one who uses it. For those that have strong will and resolve and are strong enough as it is would remain unaffected by it's allure whether they use it or not.
