Part 2: Leaving Home
His father was black with a white stripe from the tip of his tail down the center of his back, stopping at his neckline. His legs had 3 maroon red stripes which circled around his legs. His mother was more a dark pink color with a white underbelly, though it may not seem like it from not only the coloration but also the fact that he had fur and neither of them had fur much less feathers, he was indeed their biological son.
"What is it child? Don't you know what time it is?" Spoke an annoyed and groggy Rhazi [pronounced: Rah-zee], of course no one liked being woken up in the middle of the night, especially two caring parents who thought those exhausting days were well behind them. "What does it mean to be 'of ancient blood'?" He asked, his voice full of curiosity and need to know the meaning behind those words and why he still remembers them so clearly.
Rhazi and Karill shot right up, eyes wide. "Come on, pack your things, we need an audience with the royals and seek council with the Elders." Kharil said, her voice shaking but she was trying to keep it steady to decrease the chances Kai started panicking. "Why the royals? And who're the Elders? What's going on?" Kai asked, firing off question after question about the situation. "Those will be answered soon enough, but we need to go." Rhazi stated with a tone that said not to keep this going and do what was asked, so Kai just nodded and grabbed his necklace and his precious raw gemstones, and to carry them both he put them in a basket of sorts they had had for as long as he could remember, he considered them his lucky charms even though they were raw gemstones.
Of course he only had two, he didn't care much for things like these, but these two he actually liked to keep. Then he looked at the necklace, something peculiar was happening with it, the crystal wasn't glowing anymore but the colors on the flame shapes seemed to be glowing dimly, if it weren't for curiosity he'd just leave the damned thing here; he put it on and headed out with his parents, the basket being held in his maw.
Since he couldn't fly properly just yet despite essentially being a teen dragon he had to hop on his mother's back and be carried as they made for the dragon kingdom. Before they knew it dawn had arrived and they needed to rest, so they landed in a village of other dragons, these ones seemed better off as they had what looked like buildings built out of things like stone, marble, iron or gold, though anytime gold or iron was used for it it was paired with either both of the other two, or iron and marble, or just stone or marble or both. Of course being dragons, most of them being fourlegged, they had help from some creatures that had arms and hands to build things with.
"Well, surprised that we made it to this village." Rhazi stated, exhausted from flying for so long, "good place as any to rest." Kai got down off his mothers back and stretched out his muscles then shaking out his fur, he sensed some eyes on him as he looked around, which was to be expected, furred dragons were rare, even unheard of in most places.
They went to the town hall, Rhazi going to who appeared to be the chief of this small village and also appeared to be in a meeting with a few other dragons. "Send a messenger to the royal family, tell them the dark witch is on the move, and tell them that the one of ancient blood and his family are on their way, his powers are waking, the crystal can't hold them dormant anymore."
