Ember's Pov

I woke up about an hour later. Devan was sitting on the couch next to me.

"What time is it?" I asked rubbing my eyes

"It's about 8:30," He said looking at his phone.

I looked at the t.v. he was watching Grey's Anatomy. He got up and got my shirt for me

"Thanks again for everything," I said

"No problem," He said with a smile

I put my shirt on. and went to stand up forgetting about my ankle. Devan was looking down at his phone. I stood up but fell face first into the coffee table

"Hey! Careful!" he exclaimed getting on the floor with me.

He helped me get up. and he set me back on the couch

"I think that you should get that checked out," He said

"Okay," I answered

"Do you want me to go with you?" He asked

"Actually, I do," I said nervously

Devan gave a slight laugh. "Okay then, if you want you can just stay at my place for the night," He said "So I can help you around,"

"Yeah, I'll stay," I said

"Okay, Do you wanna go grab anything from your apartment?" He asked

"Just a few things," I replied

I told him what to grab and where he could find them. When he came back he gave them to me,

"Thanks, Devan," I said

He smiled at me. He sat down on the couch next to me. We watched a movie together until I fell asleep.

Devan's Pov

Ember fell asleep on my shoulder. I think that it's funny that I was the one she ran into. I slowly picked her up and carried her over to my room. I laid her down on the bed and pull a blanket over her. I then went back out into the living area and sat on the couch. I started to scroll through Instagram. I put my phone down and started to watch T.V. again. A little while later my phone went off. I opened the message

Collins: Hey Dev. How's the new apartment??

Me: hey and pretty good. I met this girl, well I ran into her and I knocked her off of her skateboard. She got hurt really bad so I'm helping her out. Turns out that she is actually my next door neighbor. She's really pretty too

Collins: Ooooo I think my little bro has a crush (;

Me: Heyyy don't do that!!!

Collins: lol

Me: Well I gtg, night!

Collins: night!

I decided that I would call in for Ember. I made an appointment for her tomorrow. I decided that it would be best to get some sleep myself. I turned off the t.v and laid down on the couch. I plugged my phone in and went to bed.

Ember's Pov

I open my eyes due to the golden sunlight seeping through the curtains and into my eyes. I yawned and stretched. I fully opened my eyes and realized that I wasn't in my room. I looked around. I had assumed that it was Devan's room. I heard a knock on the door.

"Yeah?" I asked

The doorknob turned and it opened. There stood Devan.

"Hey, did you sleep well?" He asked groggily

"Yeah," I said pulling my arms behind me to stretch.

"That's good," He said. " oh, by the way, I made you an appointment for your foot," 

"Okay, thanks so much Devan, it honestly means a whole lot to me, "I said

"As I said, It was really no problem," he said with a warming smile.

That smile made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I smiled back, I almost got up by myself but I remembered my problem with my foot. Devan walked over to me and picked me up. He walked over the couch and put me down. He got on the floor and grabbed my ankle softly and looked at it.

"Well, it's not as bad as the other day," He said reassuring me.

I smiled knowing that I'm getting better, he took the band-aids off my legs and put fresh ones on them. He did the same to my arms. When he was done he looked at me.

"Do you want me to take the one on your torso off?" He asked

"If it's better than sure," I said

"Okay," He said. We got those bandaids off and put the new ones on.

"So what do you want for breakfast?" He asked

"I don't care," I replied

"Okay," he said. He grabbed two bowls and filled them with cereal. He came over and picked me up.

"Oh wait, do you wanna try putting pressure on your ankle?" He asked

"Why not," I said. I slowly put my foot down with one of my arms wrapped around him. It was better. I could stand and limp, but still not walk right.

"Hey look a that, you're getting better," He said

"Yeah, but it still hurts, "

"well, of course, it will but you're getting better really fast," Devan added 

"true" I replied, "Wanna watch a movie?" I asked

"Sure!" Devan answered 

We watched a movie until it was rine for my appointment. 

"Come on Em," Devan yelled

"Hold on one minute!" I screamed back 

I heard Devan huff. 

"Hey, can we go to my apartment so I can change my clothes real quick?" I asked

Devan look at his phone "well... You'll have to hurry." He said, "Or else we'll be late."

"Ok," I said

We walked over to my apartment and I opened the door. 

"Crap," I thought "how am I gonna get dresses if I can't put pressure on my foot. Well, I certainly don't want Devan in here." I slightly laughed to myself at that last comment

"Okay, here's the plan. I'll help you over to your closet and dresser than I'll set you on the bed. I'll then leave the room so you can get changed. Then just let me know when I can come back in, I'll then pick you up then we can leave," Devan explained

"Okay," I said 

I grabbed some light blue shorts then a black t-shirt. Devan set me on the bed and left the room. I got dressed and called for Devan to come back in. He picked me up and I grabbed my black crocs, Then we left for the appointment.

It was dark out after the appointment. They had said it was only a sprain and it wasn't broken. I had gotten a set of crutches to walk with. It was late so Devan put on a couple of Disney movies to watch. Fox and the hound and another one but I don't remember what it was. During the second movie I rested my head on Devan's shoulder the accidentally fell asleep.

Devan's Pov

During the second movie, I felt Ember's head was now rested on my shoulder. I turned my head and looked at her. Her eyes were now closed. I picked her up and walked over to her apartment. I set her in her bed and covered her up. I plugged in her phone then I set her crutches down next to her nightstand. I sent her a quick text for when she wakes up. I then went back over to my apartment. I laid down in my bed. It felt good to be in my bed and not on the couch but I'd let Ember sleep in my bed rather than her sleeping on the couch with those wounds. I plugged in my phone than laid down and quickly fell asleep.
