Ember's Pov

I threw my hair up into a messy bun. I grabbed my makeup and sat down by my full sized mirror. I did a little bit more makeup than usual. When I was finished I looked at my reflection. I smiled to myself and got up off the floor. I put on my little black dress and my grey heels to go with it. I take my hair out of the messy bun and straighten quickly. I then grab my handbag and walked over to Devan's apartment. I knock on the door not knowing if he's ready. He opened the door and his eyes widened. He stood there looking me up and down for a minute.

"Wow." Devan said under his breath

"What?" I giggled

"You look... incredible," he said softly

I looked down at my feet trying to hide the smile

"And you look stunning," I said running my finger up his arm

I leaned forward and kissed his cheek

He intertwined our fingers and we started walking to his car. I plugged my phone into the six cord and shuffled my music. A song that I haven't listen to in at while comes on.

"You're so weird," Devan laughed 

"Yep, I know," I told him "That's why I'm dating you," 

He laughed again resting his hand on my thigh. 

When the next song came on I started to freak out 

"I'm confused," Devan said

"I sang this song for a talent show back in fourth grade," I explained "It's one of my favorite songs that I grew up with."

about 20 minutes later we were at this nice resturant. 

"Devan." I stated

"Yes sweetheart?" 

"Howare we going to afford this?" I asked

"Not us, me," 

"You are not paying for this alone," I said 

"I'm the one who took you on the date so... yes. Yes I am," 

"Devan Plase-" 

 He pulled me closer and dropping his voice "Emberlynn I'm going to pay okay? you can't change my mind,"

"Fine," I replied 

He intertwined our hands and he walked us inside.
