Before you start the game, you have choose your gender, element, and type in your name. Then the first cutscene begins.

You wake up to thunder. You look out the window. The moon is in the center of the sky. Perfect, Midnight.

You sneak out your window, and to a nearby alley. Your best friend is standing there.

"Hey, |Your Name|, where should we go tonight?"

Select between abandoned mansion and Mt. Bronze.

"Oh, |Selected location|? Sounds good!"

/Time Skip to when you get to location/

"Phew. We're finally here."

Suddenly, a creature jumps out of a nearby hiding spot.

/Tutorial Battle starts, teaching you the basic battle menus, and your moves/

The battle ends. You defeated the creature! You hear a grunt, looking over. Your best friend is hanging off a nearby cliff!

You rush over.

"Don't worry about me, |Your Name|, I'll be fine."

And then he lets go.

You can't believe what happened. Tears stream down your cheeks. Before he hits the ground, you run. You can't bear to see it.

You run through the city.

You don't notice it, but as you run, a pair of red eyes blink in the shadows.

/Time skip to one week later/

Only a few other know about this. Your mom, and two other friends, are the only ones.

You are going on a quest.

A quest to defeat the evil monsters that have been hurting people around your island.

As you leave, the two friends run up to you.

/If your character is Male, your friends are Beth the Swords-woman and Jess the Bow-woman. If your character is Female, your friends are Dan the Swordsman and  Grant the Bowman/

"Hey, |Your Name|, we were wondering something. Could one of us join you on your journey?" Beth/Dan asked.

/Choose between Beth/Dan, using the sword, or Jess/Grant, using the bow/

After you choose your partner, you head out of the town you live in, Cherrysville, to the next town over, Ocean town.
