Omkara~

The door closed behind Gauri leaving Ishaana and me surrounded by silence in my cabin.

"Omkara, I am sorry." Ishaana said breaking the silence looking guilty in my direction.

"Sorry for what, Ishaana, for betraying and hiding things from your best friend or for ditching and making me fun stock in the alter?" I asked gritting my teeth.

"Omkara, I am sorry for everything but please let me explain." Ishaana requested, "What I did was for our own good, Omkara."

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"Please, sit down and let me explain." Ishaana said pointing towards the chairs.

I sighed and sat on the chair while Ishaana occupied the one in front of me.

"You better have a good explanation for wasting my time, I have a meeting to attend." I said annoyed.

"You are still the same stubborn kid, I have grown up with." Ishaana said with a smile.

"I don't have time to go down the memory lane, tell me what you wanna talk about." I said and Ishaana sighed taking in a deep breathe.

"Omkara, Remember when Our parents fixed our marriage, I was in Switzerland for an internship?" Ishaana asked softly.

"Yes, the internship with Sky Arc. Industries." I said remembering.

"Yes, when I started interning with Sky Arc. Industries, one day I crossed my paths with Samar Roy, who came to attend a meeting in the company." I just nodded my head to continue.

"Fast forward, he asked me to go on a date with him and I refused knowing that Roy's were our rivals and you and Samar were never on the good terms." Ishaana said, "He requested me several times and finally I gave up."

"After that date, we began to spend time with each other and got to know unlike the Roy's Samar was a nice guy and he had this secret crush on me since our high school and was too jealous whenever I used to hang out with you, which was a another major cause fir his rivalry with you." Ishaana said with a small smile.

"Now, I understand why he used throw those glares towards me whenever I was around you." I said smiling.

"Well, we began dating each other and were in a relationship, which we decided to keep as a secret knowing about our parents business rivalry." Ishaana continued, "Our relationship was all Rainbows and sunshine until one day when I got a courier with the photos of Samar with another girl in their private space, I was heart broken and flew back to India."

"And when I came home, my parents told me about your wedding proposal and out of the rage, I accepted it." Ishaana said with a sorry look, "but believe me, Omkara, I never had an intention to hide these things from you, In fact I had decided to let you know about Samar before the marriage but my father stopped me."

"My father some how got to know about my relationship with Samar and blackmailed me not to tell you anything since you know... That time my father was bankrupt and the only way to save himself is by getting me married to you." Ishaana said feeling embarassed about her father's behaviour.

"But a few days before the marriage, I found I was pregnant with Samar child and My father told me not to disclose the pregnancy to anyone and pretend it like the baby was yours." Ishaana said making me shocked, I know Mr. Mathur was a cunning person but haven't expected this.

"I was threatened by my parents either to hide my pregnancy or to abort the baby, I could do either of it, I felt attached towards the jelly bean in my belly, that the thought of aborting it killed me. And at the same time, I couldn't betray you and play with your emotions, I ran away from my house on the night before the wedding. I ran away because I don't want to play with your emotions and I ran away for my baby." Ishaana said as a tear slipped down from her cheek .

"You could have told me at least, I could have helped you." I said holding her hand in mine.

"I tried my best to let you know, Omkara but my father stopped me." Ishaana said with her voice rasped.

"How did you managed? What happened to Samar and the baby?" I asked softly.

"I escaped with much difficulty, I ran away with only a few pounds in my hand and spent a week hiding in places with the help of my friends, I even tried to contact you but your number was switched off." Ishaana said.

"I switched off my mobile and distanced myself from everyone after the humiliation I have faced at the wedding alter." I explained.

"I spent a few days in my friends apartment and after that Samar found me some how through his sources and explained me that he never cheated on me and those pictures where photo shopped and sent to me by my father." Ishaana said with a hurt look, "we cleared out our misunderstandings and when Samar got to know that I was pregnant with his baby, he was ecstatic and we got married with in a week." Ishaana said with a happy smile on her face.

"What about the baby?" I asked with a small smile.

"3 months back I delivered a cute and healthy baby girl, whom we named as "Sahana". Whom I left with your assistant at this moment." Ishaana said smiling.

"Oh, I am happy for you, Ishaana." Was the thing I settled to say.

"Thank you, Omkara." Ishaana said, "Does that mean you forgave me?" She asked hopefully.

I nodded my head with a small smile, "Yes."

"Oh, thank you, Om." Ishaana said pulling me into a bear hug, "You know I always felt guilty for leaving you behind like that and I missed my best friend." She cried.

"I missed you too." I said hugging her back, "But now everything's good between us and I got my bestie back." I smiled.

"Thanks to your assistant." Ishaana said smiling, "She called me yesterday and asked me to speak with you to clear whatever misunderstandings were between us."

"She did that?" I asked surprised.

"Yes, Thanks to her for getting my bestie back to me." Ishaana said and a baby cry echoed through the walls of my cabin.

"And that's my cue to go." Ishaana said smiling standing up from the chair, "Omkara, we should meet over a dinner or something, so that we can spend time like good old days."

"Sure, plan and message me the place and address, I will be there." I said smiling, "I also wants to meet that husband of yours and have a talk about how to treat my bestie." I winked making Ishaana smile.

"Stay happy always, like this Omkara." Ishaana said patting my cheek.

I opened my cabin door for Ishaana to step out and walked towards my assistant's cabin along with her.

"Arey... Arey... Please calm down baby." Gauri spoke to the kid in baby voice.

"She won't calm down like that." Ishaana spoke moving towards Gauri, to take her baby, "She's missing her mom already." Ishaana said taking her baby in her arms and kissing her cheeks.

The baby fell silent instantly.

"She's beautiful." I said looking at Ishaana and Samar daughter.

"Thank you." Ishaana said smiling, "I will take a leave now." She said.

"Thank you, Gauri for everything." Ishaana said giving a hug to Gauri wrapping her one arm around my assistant.

"You are welcome." Gauri smiled and waved to Ishaana as she entered the elevator with her baby.

"Ouch! Handling baby's was a tough task." Gauri said massaging her hands. "I wonder how people manage baby's with such a ease, I can't even handle one kid."

I looked at my assistant's cute blabber.

"So, how was your meeting with Ishaana?" My assistant asked looking at me hopefully.

"It was good." I said.

"Good? Does that mean everything's good between you two now?" My assistant asked curious.

"Umm... " I acted like thinking, "Yes, we are back on the good terms." I said and my assistant jumped in joy.

"That's great." My assistant said smiling big.

"Yes, it is." I said smiling at her joy."

"Now, Ms. Sharma." I said making her stop her happy dance, "Get me the new project file." I instructed.

"Yes, sir." My assistant reply was instant, "Akdu." She mumbled as I turned around to walk out.

"Thanks to your assistant, she called me yesterday to meet and clear misunderstandings with you." Ishaana's words rang in my ears.

"Gauri." I called turning around to face her.

"Yes." She said facing me and I don't know what came over me, I hugged her.

"Thank you." I said wrapping my hands around her petite frame that fitted perfectly in my arms, "For taking an effort and getting me back to my Bestie." I said releasing her and I instantly felt a loss of warmth.

"You are welcome, Sir." My assistant said playing with her fingers nervously with her ears turning pink and face flushed.

I nodded my head and walked out her cabin with a big smile on my face.
