Before a sudden roar that sends massive shockwaves comes spreading the dust cloud and covering everyone, as almost everyone was trying to hold on for dear life

All of a sudden Charizard stops making everyone sigh in relief, as they turned towards it again and see three figures beside the Charizard

???:We're supposed to impress them not scare them

A familiar voice speaks making Serena, Dawn, May and Misty tear hearing it and they weren't the only ones, Bonnie teared and so did Max, people like Brock, Cilan, Sawyer, Alain and Clemont smiled hearing the voice

Charizard:Chaaarr

???:What do you mean you wanted to intimidate them *sigh before chuckling* what am I e er going to do with you my friend

???:RaiRaiRaiRaiRaiRai

???:Papapawpawmot

???:And you two are finding this funny huh?

An Alolan Raichu could be seen shocking a few people especial the ones that know who this is and Pawmot also revealed itself

???:Well *claps his hands making the dust cloud disappear surprising many* why don't we speak to the people

Ash returns looking at everyone with his iconic kind smile, as he fixes his jacket before turning to everyone

Ash:Hello everyone! *waves at everyone* as you may know my name is Ash Ketchum! I'm from pallet town in the Kanto region! the champion of Alola and years ago I . . . . . achieved my goal . . . . I became a Pokémon master, but . . . . . it seems that achieve was not the right one I still had much to learn . . . . I still had much to grow *smiles* yet that all changes today! what happened before was a win! but not victory! so this time hehehe this time I will be giving a hundred times of my all! and I will become a true POKÉMON MASTER!!!

Ash shouted with all his might and after a few seconds people began to clap and does claps turned into cheers and than roars, as everyone cheered for his returned. His friends smiled warmly and the girls wipe their tears, as the champions smile at his return

???:Hmph! took you long enough

Hiding in the tunnel was a familiar figure wearing a mask and black clothes, it was Mask and he was looking straight at his target like hunter examining his prey

Mask:His grown strong, good

???:So that's him huh?

A new figure appears standing beside Mask, it was a boy and he looked to be the same age as Ash, he had features that resembled Lance only that his red hair seemed different than Lance, this young man is Miguel

Miguel:He doesn't look like problem

Mask: *chuckle* I wouldn't say that my dear apprentice, from here I can feel the brat's strength and not just his but his Pokémon too

Miguel:Hmm I see

Mask:You'll get you're chance to battle him don't worry

Miguel:I hope so *smirks* if what you're saying is true than I might actually enjoy our battle

Mask nods before turning back to his target who starts walking to the stage with his three Pokémon

Mask: *mind* You better give you all this time brat because I won't be holding anything back this time

Mask stares at Ash from a distance before titling his head, as he sees Ash glance secretly at him meaning that his been spotted which makes him chuckle

Mask: *mind* I see now hehehe good hehe good good *clench his fist* I cannot wait for our battle

With Ash he turns away from Mask and keeps walking

Ash: *mind* Found ya, and this time . . . . this time things will be different

Ash smiles and waves at everyone that was celebrating his return which was basically everyone, as behind him his Pokémon walk cheerful as him through the crowd which move away looking at him in awe and respect seeing that some of the faces he passes he recognizes, but when he feels familiar auras he glances back and sees his group of friends and rivals and smiles at them

Bonnie: *shacking Clemont* He's back Clemont! Ash is back!

Clemont:That he is! now stop shacking me! Bonnie!!

Misty was crying tears of joy, Brock and Cilan smiled seeing him, Max wipe his tears as he smiles at his idol, Alain, Sawyer, Tierno, Barry and Trevor smirked and smiled, and after he had glanced at them he glances at the stands and sees the three girls winning the tears and smiling at him, as he smiles back at them

Serena:Ash

Dawn:That jerk *wipes her tears* did he have to make us so anxious and worried

May: *cries tears of joy* Oohh his gonna get it after the ceremony ends

After glancing at the girls he then glances at two familiar rivals that he had in Alola, as he flashes them a quick smirk

???: *chuckles* This guy *wipes a tear away*

Besides Kiawe was the dark and powerful

Gladion doesn't say anything he just smirks back at Ash and sends him a nod which Ash returns, as speaking of Alola he turns to stands again and sees a familiar group of people that he knows to well, as he smiles up at Kukui, Burnet, Lei and four other familiar faces

???:His back his actually back *holds hands with two other girls* oh thank goodness

Lillie

???: *can't stop crying tears of joy* That idiot

Mallow

???: *wipes her tears* Does he have to do something this dramatic

Lana

???: *wipes his tears* I'm so happy his back hehe took him awhile

Sophocles

Beside the group were the guy's Alolan parents who were in the same state, as the others crying, happy and smiling

Kukui:That boy

Lei:Mom? who is that?

Burnet: *wipes her tears* It's you're big brother Lei *smiles warmly at Ash* it's you're big brother

Lei: *gasp* Really!? *looks back down at Ash in awe* wooow

Lei then notices that Ash was looking directly at him and saw Ash wink at him which makes him smile happily and wave at his big brother who smiles at him before continuing his path towards the stage, as he gets on it and his Pokémon join him

Ash: *looks at the champions and chuckles nervously while scratching the back of his head* Sorry I took so long guys, you wouldn't believe how busy I was all this time

Lance:Busy huh? *chuckles*

Steven: *smiles* Well I'm sure you wouldn't mind telling us the story later right

Cynthia *giggles* He's right Ash don't start making up excuses not after all this time

Diantha:You got a lot of explaining to do young man

Ash:Young man? *chuckles* I'll have you know I am much older then our last encounter

Ash:That he is *stands beside him and gives him a fist pump* if the chances arrive we should see who's Charizard is stronger *smirks at him* wouldn't you agree

Leon:Hehe I like the sound of that idea

Geeta:We haven't even started and yet you already plan to battle those in which you may not even battle yet hmmm *giggles* you're are an interesting fellow Ash Ketchum

Ash: *chuckles* Thanks, you must be Geeta the champion of Paldea right?

Geeta:That I am it's a pleasure to finally meet you

The talking stop and with a clear of his throat Charles gets everyone's attention again, as the screen change from showing the champions to showing him

Charles:I like to say a few words, words that I should have said at the start hehe so *ahem ahem!* ladies and gentlemen!

The Pokémon league brought you the Ultra Class tournament! a tournament! that saw to find our world's greatest trainer!!

But now! I bring you a tournament! much bigger and more extravagant than our previous one!!!

A battle that will put each and every one of you! against the worlds greatest trainers!!"

Above the stadiums colorful fireworks exploded in the sky, as colors like red, blue, yellow and green are seen in the sky, as cheers once again erupted and many trainers started to get more and more excited

Lance:Few words he says hmph! his just trying to  encourage the crowd

Steven:Probably even add some pressure to some of the trainers

Geeta:Well one must always make sure the crowd is paying attention and most of all interested in what could happen

Ash:I think the crowd was already paying attention and was already interested though even before I even got here

Geeta:True

Leon:Well it's not a surprise after all unlike last time we're all together in one place

Charles looked at everyone with a wide smile and a determined looked, as he continues

Charles:This grand tournament shall be divided into three stages, but! we will not be starting this today!

This came to a surprise to everyone, as murmurs were heard from both the participants and the crowd and even the eight champions were surprised, as normally after the ceremony they start the battles

Charles:Taking inspiration from Alola's league the first stage of this tournament will be . . . Battle Royal!!

And the surprises just keep coming, almost those who know of this type of style of battling got nervous and the rest were confused

Burnet: *turns to Kukui* Did you suggested it?

Kukui: *nods* I did, when I thought this all I wanted to see was the strongest and I mean the strongest so I suggested the battle royal style and they agreed *smiles* this is too see who truly are the ones that deserve to be here

Mallow:Wait so those that mean that whoever loses in the battle royal?

Lana:Will be immediately eliminated from the tournament

Lillie:Talk about putting on the pressure

Sophocles: *sighs relief* I'm so glad that's not me down there

Back to Charles who continues to explain how the tournament will processed and the other stages

Charles:After the battle royal ends, we move to the four other stadiums for the regular battles of three on three and once we have our four winners we shall come here!! to main stadium and watch the semi finals and then the finals!

This was all but a shock to everyone since this something that's never happen in similar tournaments and leagues and those who know of the battle royal have now either gotten nervous or have become more determined since they know that if they lose it's over, but that's not all

Charles:Participants! you all have three days *raises three fingers* three days to prepare for the battle royal and also get to know one another before the battles begin, but! I would like to give an example of what we're going to see *snaps his fingers and points at one of the screens* feast you're eyes on the screen

One of the screen turn off before then showing a black void screen with blue and yellow colors swirling around, as eight Pokemon cards appear which then flip showing all eight champions

Charles:We will have one of our eight champions battle a very special guest in a two on two Pokémon battle to showcase the type of trainers we should be having here and the battles we should see along the way

The screen shows the cards being shuffled and people look in anticipation at who were going to be the two champions, as slowly but surely cards were being thrown out of the shuffle

seven cards remain

six cards remain

five cards remain

four cards remain

three cards remain

two cards remain

and so one card remain which makes the shuffle stop, yet the last card that remains stops and stood alone, as the last card slowly flips showing the champion that will be battling is

Ash

Once his face appeared many were surprised and others just cheered in joy showing that people really had missed his battles and would like to see him again, as for Ash

Ash:M-Me?

Diantha:It would seem so *turns to Ash* good luck Ash

Leon: *pats him on his back* Break a leg out there my friend

The other champions wished him lucked and encouraged him which Ash thanked them for that, as they all began to leave the stage until only he and Iris remained

Ash:Hmm? something wrong Iris?

Iris:N-No is just . . . . good luck okay and do your best . . . . . you just hit back so I don't wa—

Ash:That if I lose I'll disappear again?

Iris: *looks away* Ye-Yeah

Ash: *chuckles* Don't worry I won't

Iris:Promise?

Ash: *smiles warmly* I promise *turns to Charizard and returns him* plus who said I was going to lose *pawmot gets on his back and Raichu gets on his tail* I said I'll be battling with everything I've got no holding back which means *turns to Iris* I don't plan on losing any time soon

Iris: *smiles* Good *goes to walk away* see you later and don't do anything stupid! *walks away*

Ash's two electric partners chuckles which makes Ash chuckle and shakes his head, as he gets off the stage

Charles:Participants please leave the battlefield and take you're sits in the stands

Everyone was leaving the battlefield, as Ash and Raichu made their way to one the two side taking position on the right side, as in the stands close by the group reunites with Serena, Dawn and May

Misty:Who do you think Ash is going to face off against?

Brock:Don't know honestly I thought that if this were an exhibition match he was going to face another champion

May:I thought that too, but maybe it's someone strong that hasn't been seen in awhile

Dawn:Could be hmm gosh he just comes back and they already put him in a battle aaah I'm worried

Bonnie:Don't worry! Ash won't lose to just some random guy or girl

Max:Bonnie's right! Ash didn't go missing for awhile just to lose he'll show us that his grown strong and win!

Cilan:And no one saying otherwise

Clemont:We just don't want to see him disappear

The group turn to Ash and what no one noticed was how quiet Serena was, as all she did was stare at the guy, at her crush, at Ash with eyes full of determination and hope, as we then move to the Alola team

Burnet: *turns to Kukui confused* Did you know about this?

Kukui: *shakes his head* No, and I do t think this was coincidence that he was chosen to battle in the exhibition match

Burnet: *looks at him surprised* What? you think he was purposely chosen for this battle

Kukui doesn't say anything and just stares towards Ash hoping that whatever is happening doesn't go wrong, as Charles is seen drinking some water before sigh in relief and putting down his bottle

Charles:Now allow me to bring in our special guest

Down on the battlefield Ash stares at the opposite tunnel, as he sees a figure walking down the tunnel

Charles:He is a former champion!

the figure stretched his arms, as he slowly walks towards the light

Charles:A great adventurer that traveled the great lands of Unova!

The figure shows himself getting the people to cheer and some get shocked seeing who it is, as their orange hair gets shined by the sun

Charles:ALDER!!!!

Alder

Ash's eyes widen for second before smiling feeling the intensity Alder is showing while the adventurer stares back at Ash with a kind smile and an a stare that seems to be judging what he sees, as a battle that will start the tournament will be brewing itself and a rematch that's been a long time coming will begin
