Silence separated them.

Even though each had love for one another in their heart, unspoken words are hard to hear and harder to understand.

Landon stands where she had left him, immersing himself in the memory of her shadow. For him, love was sacrifice. Love was unconditional.

For a moment he had forgotten everything. But now he knows where her happiness lies. It was not with him, but the man that dances around the corner of his nightmare, the man that haunts his conscious. The man in her arms.

With clenched fists and a rock on his heart, he had let her walk away. Knowing fully that he had all the power to hold her, keep her chained to his name. But he knew he couldn't be selfish. His love wouldn't let him be.

Just as he was, she too was binded to him by a promise of past.

He had to let her go. Set her free.

Maybe God will be so kind to give her to him in another lifetime. As he knew she could never be his in this.
