[<Mikasa's POV>]

As soon as Jean entered the Cafeteria, joining Connie and Sasha.  My head quickly turned to Levi, “What the hell, Levi?” I quickly asked due to his sudden rudeness.  

“Me?  There's nothing wrong with me.  What the hell is wrong with him?”  My hands curled up into a fist.  Though his words told me something, but his eyes told me a different story.  I just couldn't put my finger on it.

“There's nothing wrong with him” I stated, “You can't just talk to my squad like that” I said, sounding a bit angry.  He scoffed, “Tch”

That built up more of my anger.  What the hell is wrong with him? Why is he acting like this?  What did Jean do to him? Ugh, I guess I'm going to have to apologize to Jean.

I rolled my eyes at him and headed to the cafeteria.  When I entered the cafeteria, I saw Jean arguing with Connie and Sasha about something.  I sighed and slowly approached them.

They stopped arguing as soon as they saw me.  They stood up and saluted, showing respect.

I looked at Jean, causing him to turn light red.  “Jean, I'm sorry” I apologized. Connie and Sasha's eyes widen as they never expected an apology from me, especially to Jean. “For the way Levi acted” I added. Connie and Sasha sat back down as they knew the conversation didn't involve them and continued eating.

“No need to apologize.  It's actually my fault. I should've just left you alone. An apology isn't necessary from you, Captain”

I couldn't help but to smile at him, he's so sweet.

“Thank you.  If he keeps treating you like that, tell me, so I can break his skull” He giggled.  He saluted once more, I nodded and left.

As I walked through the headquarters.  At the corner of my eye, I noticed a familiar oranged-haired woman quickly enter a building with a tray in her hands.  The tray had 2 silver glass tea cups. I wonder where she's going in such a rush.

I was about to continue on with my business, until I noticed the building she entered in.  I immediately stopped my tracks. The building she entered was the same building where Levi's office is located at.  “Fuck” I cussed under my breath as I knew she's going to see him. Suddenly the unpleasant feeling hit me.

Just leave him alone!  I wonder why she's going to see him?  My curiosity and a tint of anger got the best of me, so I headed to the building.  

As soon as I had my hand on the front door knob, an annoying voice came from behind.  “Mikasa!” I sighed in annoyance and turned around.

It was Hanji.  “Mikasa, can you please give these papers to Levi.  I would deliver them myself, but my precious titans are waiting for me.  Plus, he doesn't like it when I'm in his office. Or doesn't like me in general” she handed me the papers.

“Fine, but this is the last time.  I'm tired of delivering papers for you” I say.  Hanji happily nodded and ran off. I looked down at the papers.  This could be my excuse to see if she's actually there.

I entered the building and headed to Levi's office.  When I was in the hallway, my heart was pounding out of my chest every time I take a step closer to Levi's office.  Why am I nervous? Am I scared to find out? Shit! I'll just leave the papers outside his door.

Until, I heard two voices from the other side of his office.  

“What type of tea do you like, Sir?” A female voice asked.

“Black tea” A cold voice respond.  I lightly chuckled as I heard his voice.

I heard her giggle nervously, “Um Captain, I wanted to ask you if you'd help me with my gear, I was having trouble with it earlier”

“What's wrong with your gear?”

“Well nothing's wrong with it.  But, I'm having trouble using it”

“Like how?”

“I don't know how to use it…….yet”

I quietly took a step closer to the door, waiting for his response.  He better say n-

“Fine”

Suddenly that bitter feeling slapped me across the face.  What?!

“Thank you, sir”

I held back my anger or whatever this feeling is.  I took a deep breath and slowly released it, I need to be calm.  Eventually, I made the decision to knock on the door and enter. I was right.  She was here.

Petra was sitting on a chair with a cup of tea in her hands.  Levi sitting behind his desk doing paperwork while his cup of tea sat in the tray placed on his desk.  

Both their attention went to me.  “Mikasa,” Levi said in surprise as he placed his pen down.  “I see you have company” I smoothly said as I looked at Petra.  I could tell she was really annoyed because I interrupted her conversation with Levi.  Probably the one she's been waiting for.

“Yes, this is Petra, one of my members of my squad” he introduced, “Do you need something?” He asked me.  “Here are some more papers” I said as I placed them on his desk.

I turned to Petra, “Captain Ackerman, nice to meet you” I sticked out my hand for a handshake.  It took awhile for her respond.

Eventually she shaked my hand.  I raised my eyebrow as I could obviously tell she wanted me to leave.  

As our hands finally disconnected.  She was giving me a glare, which meant to leave.  I raised my eyebrow and glared back.

Levi noticed our staring contest, and was secretly entertained by it.  I snapped out of it, “Sorry to interrupt. I'll be on my way” I say, “See you soon, Levi….” I smirked at her and headed to the door, “Wait” he said.  I turned my head, “What?” He faced Petra, “Thanks for the tea. You may head back with the others” he told her.

“But you barely touched your tea”

“I'm not in the mood for tea right now”

She stood silent for a few seconds before she finally replied, “Yes sir”

Ha!  Oh I wanted to rub it on her face so bad!  I felt….happy…..that she's leaving.  She picked up the tray and the two tea cups and left with a face hiding her annoyance and anger.

As she closed the door behind her, I turned around, “What do you want?” I quickly asked.  Levi scoffed, “Mind telling me the reason behind the staring contest you two were having” he pointed out.

“There's nothing to explain” I said.  He looked at me, “Nothing to explain?” he repeated.  I nodded.

His eyes stared at me, waiting for the real truth to come out of my mouth.  But I didn't say a single word. I don't give in so easily, he should know this by now.

We started at each other for 10 minutes straight without looking away in total silence.  Until I was done with it, “This is not worth my time” I said as I headed to the door.

I placed my hand on the door knob.  “Your jealous, aren't you?” he finally said.  I glared at him, “I am not” I proclaimed.

He raised an eyebrow before sighing, “I can see it in your eyes.  It's pretty obvious….You can't lie to me” he added

“Look, I don't know if you hit your head pretty hard somewhere because you're not thinking straight” I say, “I think you did” I added.

He looked at me in disbelief.  I waited for him to say something, but he didn't.  I took one last breath before speaking, “Like I said, this is not worth my time” I say and left his office.  

As I walked through the hallway, I didn't realize I was….blushing.
