My expectations for this book comes from my previous experience with the author, L.V. Lloyd'S works for previous ONCs. As a writer, Lloyd has a way with word creation, plot dynamism and creating of incredible characters that you will love to be with throughout their entire journey. There is never a dull moment. If there is anything I love more than her very loving and relatable character, it will be the chosen genre Lloyd writes in and her amazing plot.

Both her books have won "Equal Fourth place for the ONC 2020" and "Top 5 Winner of ONC 2019" respectively.

This should cement the faith I have in her works. When you turn in the page of her works, you are promised a sitting-at-the-edge-of-your-seat experience all the while, swooning at the cute romance stories that is injected into the stories.

Take the book under discussion, The Clockmaker's Shadow, for instance, I am only about five chapters in and I am already deeply into the story of Rik Sandro,a dimension traveller, and his adventure as he travel dimensions, possibly, finding love.

Steampunk is "a retrofuturistic subgenre of science fiction that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery"

As an emerging subgenre of Sci-Fi, Steampunk (and its other variants), isn't an easy world to dive into but Lloyd makes it seem effortless. She is good at what she does!
