A/N: I'd also like to add something, I saw a few comments about Black Canary being alive and whatnot. I know she's alive, but at the time of the first injustice game, she was killed and later saved by doctor fate who sent her to an alternate universe (I think that's what he did) and I believe no one knew about this until after the 1st injustice game. I could be wrong, so feel free to correct me. Anyways, back to it.

3rd POV: Spiderman and Superman had an intense stare off. Neither was saying anything to the other as a silent battle of wills took place between them. The one thing that both wanted was answers, and they would have them....

One way or another.

"Well?" Superman asked, unfolding his arms. "What down there?"

"Short answer, I got jumped by zombie who looked like he came out of prison. Had to team up with this clown girl to take him down." Peter quickly explained, the fingers on his hands twitching slightly, wisps of magic flickering. "She also told me something interesting."

"Such as?" Superman asked, an eyebrow raised.

"You apparently killed her,'Mr J'..." Spidey began, his spidey sense momentarily flaring in warning of an incoming danger before it stopped, but Peter was able to spot Superman's eyes glowing red for a split second. 'Laser eyes? Great, he's just like hyperion.'

Hyperion (616) raised a brow at what the webslinger said before looking at the kryptonian, wondering who was stronger between the 2 of them.

Meanwhile, in the world of the boys, a certain man child was mentally scoffing at Superman, muttering about how he could easily take care of the 'copycat.'

(Injustice world)

"Did she ever tell you why I killed him?" Kal asked as he took a slow approach towards the webslinger. "Did she tell you what he did? Did she tell you what he took? Did she tell you what he destroyed?!" Kal yelled out, his frustrations getting to him.

"Enlighten me." Spiderman calmly responded back. This was a delicate situation, and with romy on the tower with his clone, he needed to make sure a fight didn't erupt on the station. Romy was his priority.

"......alright." kal stopped his approach and instead put his hands behind his back. "Years ago. I was given the news that I was going to have a son..." The leader of the regime started with Peter staying quiet. "I was thrilled, I was going to be a father, and I swore that I would protect my wife and child from anything that the world would throw at me." The man of steel looked towards the earth, his face morphing from anger to stoic then sadness. "But that changed..."

"What happened?" Peter asked the question on everyone's mind.

"The joker happened." Kal growled.

(Omniverses)

'Ooo~ wonder what I did?' The clown Prince of crime across the dc omniverse asked as they paid attention.

(Injustice world)

"He kidnapped my wife. Him, and that dammed clown girl operated on her and planted a device that was essentially a deadman switch that was connected to her heartbeat. When I found out they took her, I went ballistic and went looking for her. When I found them, they released a toxic gas that was laced with a mineral that affected me greatly. When the gas hit me, I came face to face with one of my dangerous foes. I couldn't risk losing my family, so i took my enemy into space where I would finish them then and there. Batman contacted me and tried to tell me that I wasn't facing my enemy. As he said that, the effects of the gas wore off, and i got to see who I was really fighting...." Clark Kent trailed off as a tear fell down his eye as he could recall that day vividly.

Peter stared at Superman, letting what he said sink in before he sharply inhaled as he came to a horrifying conclusion.

"No...." Peter uttered.

(Omniverses)

Everyone got to the same conclusion and let out exclamations of shock and horror.

"By the gods..." Wonder woman muttered as both her hands went to her mouth.

Superman JLU and YJ felt sick to their stomachs. The question they had on their minds now was who did they kill?

Batman (JLU) was having a moral dilemma. The relationship between himself and the joker was very complicated, but to find out that in another universe, the clown would kill his best friends (he would never say it out loud), wife and child send a cold shock through his system.

It made him ask a question: If the joker of his world pulled the same stunt or harmed any of his family, would he allow him to live?

Honestly, he would probably break the joker's neck to stop the chaos and then turn himself in for the murder.

And he would've been ok with that.

Ghost spider (616) flashbacked to when he fought the lizard back in earth 65 and when she defeated him, she felt unstoppable only for it to all come crashing down when it was revealed that she had fought her best friend and that he also died after taking the serum that turned him into a monster. Much like how Superman must've felt, she too felt anguish at the loss of someone they held dear.

"But it won't happen anymore, will it?" A voice whispered in her mind.

That's right, it wouldn't happen again, she won't lose Peter again, not now, not ever.

"We will make sure of it." The voice continued, promising pain to those who would harm Peter Parker.

Yes, they would make sure of it.

(Injustice world)

"And when she and my child died, the deadman switch inside her activated, and a nuke that was planted in metropolis blew up and killed millions." Superman continued.

(Omniverses)

Those who lived in metropolis paled at what they heard from the man of steel, with many wondering if it was time for them to take up residence somewhere else.

(Injustice world)

"So you snapped and killed the joker." Peter summarised, getting a nod from the regime leader. "I can understand killing one man, especially if it's the man who took everything you held dear from you..." The totem began pacing back and forth, his eyes never leaving the kryptonian. "But what I don't get is that I was told that you started killing others. Care to explain that part?" He asked.

"They were irredeemable." Superman retorted, his expression displaying anger and hate. "They were, thieves, rapists, murderers! Like the joker." He explained as he resumed approaching the webslinger. "That's the problem fighting for truth and justice. The battle never ends."

"Is that what black canary and green arrow were?" Spiderman asked as he also approached the man of steel. "Did they fall into that category? Is that why you killed them?" Superman flinched because he knew that those 2 never fell under those categories. "When does the slaughter stop?"

"When there's no more crime. When people can live without fear." The regime leader responded. "I don't know why you're fighting me on this, Peter. we want the same thing!"

"We may want the same thing, but you and I have different methods of handling it." Spidey retorted.

"Then how would you deal with it then? How would you feel if the ones you loved were taken away permanently?" Kal asked.

"Let me tell you something, Superman. I had those I loved ripped away from me once upon a time. My daughters, my brothers, my uncle, my parents, and I almost lost my aunt as well, and I so desperately wanted to kill the people who took them from me. But I know it's not the life they want for me." Peter said. 'Though I'm more than certain that I will kill 2 certain people if given the chance.' He internally added. "Would your wife want this kind of life for you? Would she want her child to live in a world where everyone is afraid of their father?"

"Don't you put that on me." Kal growled out as his eyes glowed red, his hands clenched.

The 2 stood inches from each other now. One ready to attack and the other ready to react.

"Like I said before, i can understand killing one man..." Peter began. "But you never stopped at one, did you?" He asked, but the man of steel didn't answer and just continued to glare. "How many died? How much blood is on your hands? In fact, how much blood is on your teams hands?" Spidey continued to ask and once again received no response.

Spidey used a small bit of his magic to send the device that harley gave him to his clone and mentally commanded his copy to take romy to those coordinates.

He didn't expect his clone to suddenly evaporate 3 seconds later and receive the influx of memories.

When he did get them, it took all of Peter's willpower to not jump in shock.

Turns out that his clone and romy had encountered a familiar face aboard the station.

And it made some feelings that he was trying to bury in regards to that person deep down spring back up.

'Take care of that later, romy is safe, focus on the now.' Peter mentally told himself. "I can't let you continue what you're doing. You aren't protecting people, you're subjugating them."

"And I can't let you stop me. What I'm doing is too important to stop. You may see it as a bad thing, but I see it as a necessity." Kal retorted.

"Then it seems we're at an impasse." Spiderman claimed.

"That seems to be the case." Superman agreed.

The 2 tensed, ready for what would be happening next. However, before it could escalate, Kal had to ask a question.

".....do you still think about them, the ones you lost?" Kal asked, his angry visage fading away to reveal a tired man.

".....I never stopped thinking about them." Peter answered, his shoulders slumping as if he had just finished carrying a great weight upon his shoulders. "Not just them either, I think about the people I couldn't save, how I should've done more. I know they're back because of the wish I made, but I still think about the fact that they shouldn't have died in the first place, that I should've been better and I'm trying to do that now." Peter quietly said. "Do you?"

"Everyday." Superman responded. "I sometimes wake up thinking that I'll see my wife next to me or my son in my arms only for it to be ripped away, and reality hits me." He confessed.

"For what it's worth, I am sorry for your loss." Peter said remorsefully.

"And I'm sorry for yours." Clark responded in kind.

For that brief moment, they weren't Superman and Spiderman...

For that brief moment, they weren't heroes who had the people's expectations thrust upon them....

For that brief moment, they were 2 grieving fathers who had lost their families to the devils in their lives...

But the moment didn't last long...

Superman's angry visage returned, and he threw a punch at the wallcrawler at mach Speed. Spider-Man's spidey sense warned him of the danger and, with quick reflexes, caught the punch with his hand and threw his own punch that was caught by the man of steel.

The 2 tried to overpower the other, but with Spiderman using his magic, he was managing to keep up with the kryptonian.

Kal used his heat vision and fired his optic beams, but Spiderman opened a portal in front of his face, allowing the beam to go through it and another portal to open behind the man of steel and get hit with his own blast, stunning him. Peter used the opportunity to headbutt the regime leader and tackle him into another portal, taking the 2 away from the tower and placing them above the city of metropolis.

Superman regained his bearing and elbowed Spiderman in the face, breaking himself free from the totem's hold and throwing him down into the streets.

Spiderman skipped across the ground before righting himself and digging his hand into the road to skid himself into a halt.

"Give up Peter, you can't win!" Superman ordered as he descended down to the webslinger.

"You should know this about me, Superman...." Spiderman began as he stood up and got into his way of the spider stance. "I never quit!!"

The time for talk was over....

It was now time for a clash of morals, or more specifically....

It was time for a battle of gods to take place.

A/N: And done, I hope you all liked this chapter. There's not much to really say other than I thought of a certain chapter for this story that I think will be insane but we'll just have to wait and see how the lead up to it will go.
