3rd POV: Spiderman carried an unconscious mileena and gently placed her near sister, Ben carried the dead corpse of Jax over to the other dead bodies and placed him down, closing the S.F's eyes before moving to stand next to a silent kaine who was observing a silently seething liu kang.

(Omniverses)

Everyone bowed their heads in silent respect for the fallen warriors who died protecting their home from the invaders

(Mortal kombat universe)

Spiderman sighed. Out of all of their allies, the only ones who survived were johny Cage, sonya Blade, psylocke, Storm, Kitana, Jade, Skarlet, Mileena, Tanya and kung Lao. From what a semi awake Betsy told him, they were planning their next move before being ambused by the cyber lin kuei. After taking them out, sindel stepped in and practically annihilated half of the earthrealm defenders and came close to killing almost everyone had psylocke, and Storm not reacted accordingly and stopped her when she nearly succeeded.

Glancing behind him, he saw the chosen one of the shaolin watching over his fellow monk before looking back at the bodies of the dead, his anger boiling to the surface. Spiderman remembered when Raiden explained his and Liu kang's abscence, saying that the 2 went to consult the elder gods and get their aid in stopping the invasion, but it ended in failure. Peter could assume that Liu kang was feeling guilt for not staying to fight alongside his fellow kombatants. Spidey walked behind the shaolin and placed a hand on his back.

"We'll make sure their deaths weren't in vain." Spiderman said, his grip on Liu kang's shoulder slightly tightening. "We owe it to them." He said.

"My heart is heavy with their sacrifice." A voice says, and Spiderman turns around to see the approaching God of thunder.

"Their deaths achieved nothing!" The shaolin exploded on his ally, pointing at the dead bodies of their comrades. Raiden said nothing, merely grabbing his amulet and staring at it, lost in thought and perhaps clueless on what to say and do. "What is next, raiden? Tell me the future!!! How do we honour their sacrifice?!" He yelled, standing up and approaching the thunder god aggressively, but Spiderman got between the 2.

"Liu kang, don't." Spiderman said, pushing the shaolin back lightly. Liu kang resisted but took a breath and stepped back.

"I climbed to heaven, now I must plunge into the depths." Raiden solemnly said, placing his amulet back on his chest. "I will go to quan chi. Ally, our realm with his against the forces of outworld." The thunder god said, and as expected, neither spiderman, liu kang, or the spider clones were happy about it.

"What?!" The spider trio and shaolin yelled.

(Omniverses)

"What?!" Everyone yelled.

(Mortal kombat universe)

"Grovel?! Before quan chi?!" The chosen one questioned, feeling outraged.

"I'm with liu kang on this! You can't be serious, raiden!!! The man will stab you and everyone in the back the second he gets the chance." Spiderman said, mentally wondering why raiden would ever suggest such a thing.

"What will he demand?! What price will be paid?!" Liu kang continued to question, getting angrier and angrier every second he repeats what raiden said to them in his head over and over.

'Probably me.' Spidey mentally thought, remembering quan chi trying to capture him before Ben intervened.

(Omniverses)

'If he takes you, I'll find a way to that omniverse, kill that pale fuck and drag you out alive and kill anyone who gets in my way.' The sister of Peter Parker thought, a subtle rise of anger at the mental image of a beaten and chained spiderman being dragged away.

(Mortal kombat universe)

"Would any price be too high to save earthrealm?" Raiden asked, leaving both Spiderman and Liu Kang silent.

(Omniverses)

"There shouldn't even be a price to pay." Captain america (616) said.

"Aye, there has been enough death in this invasion." Thor (616) agreed.

(Mortal kombat universe)

"I had prayed it not true...." Liu Kang began, catching the airachnid and the thunder god's attention. "But you have truly gone mad!" The shaolin claimed before calming down and continuing in a whisper. "Your visions, they are nothing but dilusions of an addled mind." The chosen one said.

"Liu Kang, please." Raiden begged. Spiderman kept looking between the 2, not knowing what to say. He wanted raiden to think this through, to realise that it was a foolish idea to go to the netherealm sorcerer, but he could already tell that the god was hellbent on going through with it.

A groaned attracted everyone's attention, and they turned to see the various downed kombatants slowly awaken from their unconscious state.

"Enough." Liu kang commanded, his voice subdued, clearly believing that raiden was not going to listen to him. "We must help the wounded." The shaolin said, motioning to himself and the spider trio. "Leave on your hopeless quest." The chosen one, turning away from the god of thunder and heading to the injured.

Raiden stared on, saddened at the loss of faith from his friend.

"Raiden." Spidey called out, getting said God's attention. "Don't do this." He pleaded, hoping that he could get through to raiden, but his plea fell on deaf ears.

"I am sorry, Spiderman..." raiden began before looking back at liu kang and then kung Lao and soon to the unconscious and fallen kombatants. "But I must." He said before turning to Spiderman. "May the elder gods protect you all." The thunder god said before raising his hand up and lightning struck him, and he teleported away, leaving a disheartened wallcrawler to sigh in frustration as his brothers walk up to him.

"What now, pete?" Kaine asked his template.

"I don't know." Spiderman confessed, unsure of what to do next. "Every second we spend just standing here, more people are dying, and Outworld gains an extra foothold in earthrealm." Spidey then turned to his allies with some awake, but clearly exhausted. "We need a way to end this invasion, and we need one now."

A gasp is heard, and spidey turns to see psylocke holding the side of her head, and Peter rushes to her side.

"Betsy, what's wrong?" The wallcrawler asked.

"He's coming." Betsy said ominously.

"Who?" Ben Reilly asked as the British mutant telepath stared seriously at the aider trio.

"Shao Khan." Psylocke said, and that caught everyone's attention.

"Shao Khan is on his way here?!" Liu kang yelled, approaching the telepath. "Where?!" He demanded, hid previous task of tending to the wounded forgotten.

"Back up, Liu." Spiderman said, standing in front of the shaolin. "Take care of the injured. If shao Khan is coming, my brothers and I will handle him." Spidey said.

"We need to take him out immediately, Peter." Liu kang said, becoming slightly aggressive. "He needs to pay for what he has done, and I will be the done to deliver justice!" He yelled.

"Justice or vengeance?" Spidey asked, narrowing his eyes on the shaolin. "This sudden aggression doesn't suit you, Liu kang, you used to be calm and collected. I get that you don't want innocent people to die anymore, and everyone in this room wants the same thing." Spidey began, raising his hands up in a placating gesture. "But bull rushing straight to shao Khan will end to disaster." He finished before turning to psylocke. "Give me the location betsy. If me and my brothers can stop him or perhaps even hold him back, we can try to at least buy you guys time to think of a way to take him down fast and easy." He told betsy, who nodded her head and sent the mental image of where she felt shao Khan would be arriving.

"{Be careful Peter, he seems to have gotten stronger.}" Psylocke warned Spiderman through their link.

"{I will.}" He said before turning to an agitated liu kang. "Look after them, Liu. Do you want to stop more deaths from happening? Then this would be a good time to start." He said before looking at the still unconscious sindel. "And maybe keep an eye on her as well. I don't know what exactly happened for her to be split into 2, but i don't want to risk the chance of her waking up and trying to kill everyone again." The wallcrawler advised. Turning to his brothers, he could see they were ready to take on the emperor of Outworld. "Let's move!" He ordered.

The 3 spider totems jumped through the shattered window they came in, with the 2 clones following their template. The 3 spidermen swung through the destroyed city, dodging fireballs, dragons, and rescuing people along the way.

"Do you think once we take down shao Khan, his forces will stop?" Kaine asked, running along a wall before jumping off of it and web swinging.

"It has to." Spiderman replied. "The guy is their emperor, and if you take down the top dog, then everyone else will fall into disarray." He continued. "We're almost ther-" spidey never got to finish as a familiar voice into his head.

"{Spiderman, we have a problem!}" Ororo called out. "{Liu kang has run off! We think he's following after you}" She explained. "{Kung Lao tried to chase after him, but we're pinned down by more cyber lin kuei. We're pushing them back, but it will take some time for us to reach you.}" Storm advised, causing Peter to mentally curse.

"{Got it, we'll keep an eye out, stay safe.}" Spiderman said before the link closed. "We've got a problem, liu kang just ran and is most likely tailing us. He'll probably follow the trail we've left to find us. The others are pinned but are pushing back to reach us." Spidey explained. "Let's hurry to where shao Khan is and end this now."

"Got it." The 2 clones replied.

After a while, they land on a rooftop. Looking around, they spot nothing out of the ordinary, but all 3 spider totems tense when lightning struck the ground and raiden appeared.

Before anything could be said, a portal to Outworld began to open up.

"Here he comes." Spidey said, getting ready for a fight.

A roar ripped through the air, and the spider trio and thunder god turned to see a damaged dragon approaching their location before crash landing and the rider of said dragon jumping off of it and rolling across the ground before stopping, the rider stood up to reveal none other than-

"You've gotta be kidding me." Spiderman groaned, seeing that it was Liu kang.

Said shaolin looked to Spiderman before noticing raiden and folded his arms.

"Back from the netherealm empty-handed, I see." Liu kang observed.

"Liu kang!" Raiden gasped. "I understand what must be done. We must allow shao Khan to merge the realms!" He explained.

"What?!" The 3 spider totems yelled.

(Omniverses)

"What?!" Everyone yelled, shocked.

Weren't they supposed to stop it, not allow it to continue?

(Mortal kombat universe)

"That is insane!" Liu kang exclaimed.

"The elder gods forbid it without victory in mortal kombat." Raiden explained, and Spiderman listened carefully to his explanation. "When he does, the elder gods' fury will fall upon him. Defeating shao Khan before the merge will merely delay him. He will return, bring amargeddon. I have seen it!" The thunder explained, hoping for the shaolin to see reason.

"Enough raiden!" Liu kang yelled before everyone turned their attention as the portal is fully opened to reveal shao Khan standing on the other side. Liu kang glances at raiden before storming towards the portal.

"Liu kang, listen to me!" The thunder god begged, grabbing the shaolin warrior by the arm to stop him. "Have faith in the elder gods, have faith in me." He pleaded, but liu kang didn't listen and was about to resume his appearance, but raiden got in front of him. "Liu kang, stop. You can not fight shao Khan!" Raiden said, but the response he got was the chosen one igniting his fist in flames. "Liu kang stop!" He ordered.

"Enough of your madness!" Liu kang yelled. "If you must die, so be it!!" He said before rushing towards raiden, but before a fight could begin, Spiderman jumped in between the 2 kombatants and grabbed liu kang's arm. "Spiderman?! What are you doing?!" He questioned.

"Stopping you, what does it look like?!" Spiderman retorted before pushing liu kang back. "Listen to me, as much as raiden's idea sounds crazy, and believe me, this one definitely goes up there with his idea to go to quan chi, I think this one could work." At seeing the shaolin's disbelieve, spidey continued. "Think about it. The elder gods created the tournaments so that the realms could fight on even ground, Outworld had lost 2 of them and were bound to never conquer earthrealm again, if you beat him here and now, he'll try again another time and if he tricks you or someone who challenges him into making a wager for the fate of earthrealm and he wins, everything we've fought for is over." Spiderman explained. "I know you've basically lost faith in raiden, but have faith in me." Spiderman pleaded. " Don't fight shao Khan, let this play out just a little while longer." Peter begged, hoping that the shaolin would listen to him.

Liu kang glared at Spiderman, then raiden then finally at shao Khan who was slowly coming through the portal. An internal conflict rising with him. He wanted to fight shao Khan but the more he thought of what Spiderman said the more it began to make sense and it was with great reluctance, that liu kang extinguished hid fire fist and backed away slowly.

"Thank you." Spiderman said, grateful before turning to the approaching shao Khan. "Now here comes the difficult part." He muttered.

Once shao Khan passed through, raiden approached the emperor and bowed before him.

"Ah raiden, I see you've come to your senses" shao khan said, his tone arrogant. "All these ages, you have fought me. Denied me my rightful claim!" He growled out. "But no more." The Khan claimed before backhandinf the thunder god away from him, knocking his amulet off and breaking it. The emperor Turned his attention to the 2 spider totems and liu kang who were running towards him but he fired a fireball near their feet that exploded with great power and knocking them away before turning to Spiderman who stood defiant. Shao Khan chuckled before stomping towards the centre of the Web. "Kneel." He commanded.

"No." Spiderman denied. "Not now, not ever." He firmly said.

"Ha!" Shao Khan laughed. "Do you truly think you pose a threat to me? I am shao Khan! Ruler of Outworld and conqueror of all realms!!" He proclaimed out loud. "The elder gods will not save you or this realm, they fear me." Shao Khan said, summoning his hammer and dragging it across the ground as he got closer. "Their pathetic Mortal kombat shackles me no longer." Shao Khan stopped right in front of Spiderman. "I know you can feel it Spiderman, it is the end of all things." He claimed as stared into the hate filled eyes of the spider totem. "And now..." shao khan slowly raised his hammer as Spiderman tensed. "This world ends." He claimed.

Just as he was about to swing down, yellow lightning descended from the sky, impacting the ground close by before a bright light lit up the sky and multiple dragons descended and surrounded the thunder god lifting him in the air. However, surprisingly, one dragon went to Spiderman and surrounded him.

"Anansi...." a female voice called out, it sounded so familiar to spiderman but he couldn't place where he heard it.

Soon, both raiden and spiderman were engulfed in the glow of the dragons and spoke as one.

"You violate our will Shao Khan. You merge the realms without victory in mortal kombat!" The thunder god and spider totem spoke in unison, their voices their own but also a mix of others. "Our penalty is clear!" They said before raiden conducted electricity and fired at shao Khan who seemed unaffected by the attack and laughed.

"An anemic effort from ineffectual dieites." The emperor mocked "today, I become the elder god!" He bellowed before being knocked back by a magic blast and everyone's attention turned to Spiderman who had his arm extended out. "You dare?!" Shao Khan yelled. "You cannot hope to defeat me! I have grown more powerful since our last encounter. My will is absolute!!!" The Khan cried out.

Spiderman said nothing as raiden moved to stand beside the wallcrawler and was soon followed by the 2 spider clones and the chosen one of the shaolin. Ben and kaine extended their stingers, liu kang engulfed his fists in fire and raiden engulfed his in electricity.

"I think...." Spiderman began, his hands doing magic seals.

Anyone diverse in magic, especially the sorcerer supremes in the Marvel omniverse, grew intrigued as they knew those seals.

(Mortal kombat universe)

"You'll find...." spideys suit changed from white and black to black and white, a familiar spider symbol forming on his chest. "Our will...." his hands glowed as magic runes appeared over them. "Equal...." a red Cape began to form behind him, reaching down to his angles as Spiderman finished his magic seals by bringing his hands up into the familiar sign of when he'd shoot webs as a pulse of power erupted from him, blowing gusts wind.

"To yours!" Spiderman growled.

It was time to settle this.
